Just a question, did you have to add an apn for Lte? I was in St. Louis, which is supposed to have lte and I did not get it anywhere. I only have the PTA apn.

did you get an LTE data plan, have them upgrade your SIM so tht the 9th/10th digit is 25, and add your IMEI to the computer system?

I'm glad you asked that question actually. I also was not getting an LTE signal up until today. The culprit turned out to be the micro SIM card - after going to the AT&T store to replace it, all has been well.

You want to check the sim. The 9th/10th digit should be 25. Also, check http://att.com/coverageviewer to see if you are in an LTE market.

Not possible without CM7, which is not available for LG Thrill.
Switching to EDGE only would save some serious battery. Too bad.

I've been looking for an app for this too. WM6.5.3 has this built in and I love using it. For now I'm using *#*#4636#*#* to toggle between WCDMA only, WCDMA prefer and GSM only.
With the triller rom i dont get an option for gsm wcdma or anything its got p/ cs&p/ and cs maybe ill flash back my stock rom and try

pull down the "Set preferred network type" and you'll get this menu
I set mine to WCDMA only because I hate my phone toggling between edge and H+. I just wish someone would make an app that does this or a way for anycut to make a shortcut to this setting.
Alternatively you can download an app call 4G LTE on/off from the android market. https://market.android.com/details?id=net.andirc.lteonfoff It's made for Thunderbolt but it'll work on the Thrill. I just installed it and tested it.
You can also use xShortcut from https://market.android.com/details?id=ex.chinyang.android.xshortcut to create your own shortcut. I tested it and it also works.

I am getting great speeds on wifi, regularly above 20 which is what I get on my computers too. It might have something to do with that almost dead battery you had while doing the tests. Try it again when you are charged up and see if that makes a difference.
Here're my WiFi results after 4.2.1
I think it may be your battery being drained but I could be wrong. I was at 53% or so when I ran the test.

@OP I actually don't see anything that would be showing how slow your WiFi is from the given picture I mean if you look tests were carried our on both WiFi and data network. So how are you comparing these figures and what's your usual WiFi speed so people would know what you are talking about.
Also maybe there's some other activity on router or someone is downloading something. Reset router and do the same test again so you can get better results

3 speed test results are hardly conclusive. Your WiFi speed could vary depending on the load on your broadband at different times or because of a bunch of other reasons.

Seriously, that's a great site and a great resource. You can do your part with Sensorly. I did it was was the first person to map out 4G signal where I live. It was pretty cool. Wasn't official at the time, but since then, the whole region has shown up dark purple on Sensory maps-- great 4G coverage!
Speeds vary a lot, but man it's a lot faster than 3G. The freakin upload speeds are faster than my home internet upload speeds. WTH is up with THAT?! I actually transfer some files TO my phone FROM my laptop, then upload FROM my phone to other places sometimes.
Looks like the west, southwest side almost on the outskirts of town is the place to be for LTE.
Anyway, I was able to download a 760 mb Rom on my One just shy of 20 min on 4G. and good thing is only 5% of my battery drained. On my Evo4G battery would drain fast. Thumbs up and hope you guys can experience the 4g

Signal Icons
ok first T-Mo phone so go easy on me -
anyone know what the signal icons signify? So far I have seen:
H (HSPA? what shows when you get HSPA+)
G
E
What else could/should I see? What shows when LTE is active?
LTE will display when you have it, I think E is for Edge, R is roaming, G is GPRS I think, and 3G is of course for 3G.
I have Metro PCS which is T-Mobile GSM. Can i join in this thread too lol? T-Mobile Visual voicemail app works flawlessly for me by the way.
Now that I've seen it mentioned, I haven't seen the h (hspa) icon displayed as of yet. Can't complain since I get LTE pretty much everywhere I am. Occasionally I'll hit 3g but not often.
Has anyone receive the update to 4.4.2 yet?

Nah, H is for HSPA. It is a higher level of service than standard 3g. It's not as fast as LTE though.
