People, I guess we have now lost all our dev's...
Kajura leaved us, busy life or whatever..
Nik's USB Port is broken, means we will have to wait a while.
And do we have other devs here or something similar?
If we won't get any new roms, I guess I will stay on Nik Trinity XL Rom. And you?
Or is anyone thinking about a device update? My parents will buy me maybe end of this year a new one but I don't know. Maybe One V, another device, built to end up without many updates I guess.

Floatshow and djpbx are still working on a JB ROM build from source We will survive that. i can't afford a new device anyway atm so I just hope for Nik's return Till then I'll stick on Project X...

There are others helping them, so patience will do it I'm sure they'll make it somehow
I think floatshow said that one (or more, don't remember) of the builds booted but screen remained black. So it's getting closer

HTC Vivid topic is very quiet.
NO new rom
NO New kernel
Very Low update for roms (only De-sensed and Holics have some activate), and i think this low activate goes very soon.
so this is the end of Vivid dev life ?
No there are many good roms out there

i know have many rom before. but it's so many time that don't have new rom. or some of them have bug and not fixed (like signalbar in de-sensed and miui)
Looks like we have 5 currently working roms, several on hold and also looks like they are being updated regularly.

This phone isn't very popular. We aren't gointo be seeing much more development going on for it and the ROMs that are out there cover all the bases our community is capable of. That being said...every build that's out there right now is very solid and generally a joy to use. If you want a hundred sub-par ROMs to choose from, then by all means sell your phone and get a new one.

The developers have hit a wall with ril issues so that best thing can really do is give us good tweaked stock roms. The issue is HTC didn't make the phone very developer friendly

My kernel doesn't need to be updated. Likewise roms shouldn't need to be updated regularly. If you want buggy roms or kernels that need updating a lot I would advise a different device

i know your rom and kernel are now best for vivid. i use your rom and kernel. i mean add a new feature like usb otg.
(why HTC don't use usb otg? even OneX don't have this. but most of samsung have this. i think that's very important for a modern phone.)
or nobody work on jelly bean (in next forum worked but know is closed)
I'm still lost as to why we can't get a working sense 4.0 Rom.

I think USB otg Lso is dependent on hardwaren...could be wrong...and these roms already have plenty of features...have you used leedroid tweaks?

Because HTC has s*** coding, doesn't provide source, when they do its s*** and a mess, att just adds to the troubles
The main problem is the rills...basically the devs can't figure out how to get signal -that's in really basic terms for the non-tech people...there's obviously more to it...
Not sure why everyone is so crazy about sense 4...looks the same to me...what we really need is a solid (real) aosp Rom...bot One based off sense...one built from source...preferbally cm9/10...either one...

Yeah I really don't care much for htc enlight of this phone and my flyer (Cut my losses with it to get a nexus 7). My captivate was my 4th straight Samsung and I was always impressed with HTCs build quality and Sense looked cool so I thought I'd give them a chance. But now they'll never get my business ever again.
CM was always an option until I got these htc pieces of crap. I'm pretty strapped for cash at the moment but when I get back on track financially I'm buying a Nexus phone, either the gnex or its successor if it's out by then. As I've found from my Nexus tab with pure android an the most current version of android the desire to root is pretty weak

Nik's IncS broke and a generous user sent him a spare one, which he has not recieved yet.
I have sort of given up trying to get the proto rom out, either waiting for a rom so I can port it or I will extract it if someone finds instructions
In the thread posted before this one, a Dinc2 developer posted a CM10 build.
Nits is working on Venom Viper ROM for us and vivow, he is selecting beta testers. Our device is at just commencing living again after a half time pause between GB and ICS
We have new developers working on kernels
Yes, some of our old developers are gone but its far from over
Good to hear about that

Well that won't work for charging ;D Have to put the cable up somehow. If it's not pressed upwards it discharges the phone pretty fast and also PC connection doesn't work like that... Just has to hold up 3 months

A few weeks ago H8 mentioned trying to get upstream support for the Vivid. He never said we got that though. I don't think our device is popular enough
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
I don't foresee it for a long time, since H8 is also the main man behind the One's CM10.1 as well. Can't be easy to juggle the projects, and the One is definitely a more important phone.
*more popular...
Its more important to get cm10.1 on the vivid... IMHO..

Is sense 5 in the future of HTC incredible s?
I mean the HTC butterfly just got it officially
So does this mean it can be easily ported in the future to our device ? And if so when will it possible ?
I am a little newbie when it comes to developing Roms and porting
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda app-developers app
Adding to that HTC one s got a beta Rom of sense 5 too thanks to xda community of course (great developers everywhere)
So what we are waiting for is the ion kernel which I think is almost done working and what next?
Please advice

Yes its true that we still need a kernel for Jellybean Sense. We can hope for it this month (or the next).
However, all the devices that have received Sense 5 beta or what not are all the 1080p devices so for a team of HTC developers, it might not be too difficult to just port it over since there (shouldn't) be any re-sizing to do. For our device, its possible although I can't imagine what single person would spend the time re-sizing all the HTC apps and what not.
Sense 4+ would be significantly more realistic because there are devices with Sense 4+ that have the same resolution as our phone, so (I'm not a developer so don't take my word for granted) I'd assume that it would be just exchanging libs, correcting frameworks here and there, make modifications to make it run smoother and better etc.
