I have Tmobile and I purchase a Samsung Galaxy Note Gt-N7000 from TelCel. Today I received the unlock code for the phone. However, when I insert the Tmobile sim it doesn't prompt me to enter the code. It only says Network Lock and one button to Dismiss. Does anyone know How I can get the phone to accept or prompt me for the code?
HI bud,
there's a similar problem on the other thread. Try to see if you can follow the instructions presented by the posters (on that thread) - >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416175
Note on page #2 and #9 on that thread. It'll greatly help you much.
P.S. Samsung SII and Note share pretty much the same file system so it's safe to follow their instructions.

Unlocking the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S requires an unlock code. An Samsung I9000 Galaxy S unlocked should work on any GSM phone networks or carrier. Most GSM or SIM based cell phones come with a SIM lock which prevents them form working with unaccepted carriers. The unlock code should remove the SIM lock on your Samsung I9000 Galaxy S.
In order to get a Samsung I9000 Galaxy S unlock code, I would first contact your phone carrier’s support line and request one. Sometimes they will give you one for free and in exchange will need your Samsung I9000 Galaxy S’s IMEI number. You can get this number simply by entering *#06# on your phone’s keypad and then pressing enter. If you cannot attain a free Samsung unlocking code, then you should purchase the unlock code from any of the trusted online vendors like unlockgenie.com or unlocking.com or cellunlocker.net or thephoneunlockers.com etc.
You should now be able to use your unlock code and the steps below to fully unlock your Samsung I9000 Galaxy S to other carriers. Enjoy!
How To Unlock Samsung I9000 Galaxy S
1. Power on your Samsung mobile phone with an unaccepted SIM card inserted.
2. Your Samsung mobile will prompt you for a password (unlock code).
3. Enter your Samsung unlock code.
Otherwise, if your Samsung mobile phone displays “Insert Correct SIM Card” then:
1. Turn on your Samsung phone with an UNACCEPTED SIM card inserted.
2. Type: #7465625*638*CODE# (Where CODE is your Samsung unlock code.

Note: The free unlock instructions provided on this thread only work with GSM or SIM card versions of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S. As always there may be already unlocked versions of this mobile phone, but generally cost a lot more then unlocking it yourself.

The absolutely easiest way.....call ATT, give them the last 4 digits of the account holders SSN and the IMEI of the phone....3 minutes!

The problem is not to get the code but to enter it. Stock ROM prompts for a carrier unlock code when unsupported SIM is present, but many Custom ROM's do not. This is what rustyhalos question means. For i896 I had to go back to stock in order to unlock the phone. Galaxy Unlock does nothing on i896. I got my code off eBay for few bucks.
You can unlock a phone without using a sim card at all. I unlocked my Captivate before loaning it to someone and it was running Xylon 4.2.2 at the time. I called ATT, got the unlock code and used the following method.
Method #4 Go to the dial screen on your phone as if you are going to make a call and press #7465625*638*# Once prompted for code, enter the 8 digit Unlock Code.
Nexus 7 Running JellyBam v7
I know, but for some reason this method doesn't work on some custom ROM's. It didn't work for me (custom ICS, don't remember which one it was) and this is why I had to go back to stock. No big deal, just few minutes more to achieve same result. I'm currently running Slim 4.2.2 and this key combination does nothing as well. My phone is already unlocked though and this may be the reason now.

I ended up doing this just after posting the OP. ATT gave me no fuss and I got CM to prompt. TY to everyone.
Hi guys, I recently traded my Oppo find 5 for a AT&T note 3.
The Find 5 was unlocked and I was using Tmobile. Although the Note 3 is locked to ATT.
I tried using these threads to unlock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494634
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475552
the only difference is I used an app called Kingo to root. I also dont have the original ATT sim card that came with the phone, I used an old one I had laying around.
Other then that everything seemed to have gone smoothly. Except after I reboot the phone after the region unlock it says "invalid SIM" and asks for a sim unlock code.
Could you guys help me figure this out? I thought it would be a lot smoother and this is my only phone.
Thanks!
You must have the latest software update. If so your baseband version ends with "mj5".
The 2 threads about unlocking you posted worked on baseband version "mi9" only.
You have to buy an unlock code now.
Sorry!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. I used to have AT&T as a carrier for the phone, now I do not have a carrier. I want to unlock my phone and preferably not pay for it I tried the method outlined at android and me and several other site, ( it involves using the number *#197328640#)
I was unable to use this method because I could not find a UMTS menu.
The only other way I found to unlock the phone was to root it. I wanted to use Odin and CF Auto Root to do but I could not find a version for my device, (Samsung-SM-N900A).
Do you guys have any suggestions for me?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

Im in the same place need to Root At&t galaxy note 3 5.0 N900a where can I find the files
You can only network unlock the phone with a code.
As far as I know, all of the note series is carrier unlocked. if it's not, you have to call your respective carrier and ask them to unlock it. Rooting your phone is another story. I just got off live chat with Samsung and they can't remove the bootloader lock on my OC2 N900a. This will prevent me from buying any other samsung product in the future, not even considering the note 7 b.s.
The n900a is an at&t phone and pretty much every at&t phone is carrier and bootloader locked. Same goes for sprint and Verizon.
Didn't realize oc2 also had the n900a as I thought the U.K. And Europe had the n9005.
Most of the note phones sold by a carrier are network locked.
Hey guys so I tried to root my Samsung unlocked galaxy note 8. And I messed up. So I found a "return to stock" thread but every rom I've downloaded that says it's the USA unlocked version. When I boot it up. It says its searching for a sprint signal. I don't know what to do. I thought I had it fixed. I got the notification to go away. But I just want it back to the way it was out the box. Any suggestions?

1) What carrier are you on?
2) What firmware did you use?
3) What is your N8 model? F? FD? U?
4) Taking the SIM out, power cycling and putting the SIM back in doesn't work?
You must provide better details of your actions if you want help.

It's the unlocked samsung galaxy note 8. Unlocked straight from the factory. I am on verizon. I used firmware N950U1UEU3CRC1_N950U1OYM3CRC1_XAA from one of the posts. I am unsure of what model it is. and yes I did do a power cycle. I'm just trying to get it back to the firmware it was on. It's the Factory unlocked variant USA.
