Nexus 7 vs wikipad gaming tablet? - Nexus 7 General

What do you think. I'm wondering if maybe we can get those controls to work with our nexus 7
Specs of wikipad- The 1280 x 800 IPS LCD screen is driven by a 1.4GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM, either 16GB or 32GB of storage, with a microSD slot for expansion.

Regarding the controls, it's unlikely that they would properly fit anything except a Wikipad, and I could be wrong but it looks like there's some type of connector that it plugs into on the Wikipad.

MW3 only on low settings if. I got a Intel HD 3000 and a nvidia gt540m.
But if I was you I would look for something better if you plan play some games. I think nvidia gt540m works good with MW3 because I play it on my notebook and the graphics look good.
When i played MW3 on the Intel HD 3000 I had idea it was not running so smooth.
But Intel HD 3000 can handle 1080p just fine and you can also play some games but I think games like bf3 will not run good on this notebook.
I myself got an Asus K53SV-SX838V and it has Nvdia optimus.

Thanks for replying,
Actually, I can't afford a laptop as expensive as that. It would be not fair bcuz all of my siblings got mid range price laptops. I just need a cheap gaming laptop.

My notebook has an i7 2670QM and 8GB Ram, and a decent GPU Nvidia GT540 and it came with a 640GB harddrive which I replaced with a 128GB SSD.
My notebook was € 587 and I even have an USB 3.0 port and the build quality is good. My notebook is an Asus K53SV-SX838V, but I got it with a really good promotion.
So I don't think my notebook was expensive at all.

The 3D performance of the HD 6320 should be only minimally faster than a 6310 and therefore only low demanding or older games should run fluently (e.g. Call of Duty 4, Sims 3, Left 4 Dead 2, Fifa 11).
Based on the chip in the link bellow it's only a few Mhz faster.

What would you like to have in the Nexus 5?

- LTE
- OLED 1080p display

SD card slot. That's it.

Doesn't look like it'll be OLED but it will be a 1080p display.
This article seems to be more reasonable about the latest Nexus 5 rumors. Potential specs look great to me. Selling point for me will be the improved camera. The best camera is the one that's with you..

"The tip contains what the author claims are the retail specs of the device Google will be arriving at with the manufacturer of choice - a 5" 1080p display, Snapdragon 600 processor (Snapdragon 800 is going into an eventual Google Nexus 10.2, they iterate), 2 GB of RAM, 8/16 GB of storage, and a 3140 mAh battery."
Have all the previous Nexus devices been announced in the fall time? If so, we still have a while to wait. If Tmo has an up an running hybrid LTE/HSPA+ network by then, that might be nice. However, if the N5 comes with that particular chipset, IT MUST MUST MUST seamlessly, flawlessly, and speedily switch between the two so you would never even know. I seem to remember hearing how the Gnex on verizon would take ages to go back to LTE. Also, is it too much to ask for a native T9 dialer?

Thank goodness they are not switching back to OLED.... but the 8/16gb storage rumor in that article is rather disappointing.
More storage. And Instead of SD card a 32/64 GB models would good coz ib doubt they will put a SD card. That would be good. Full HD display.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Disappointing yes but it may be a factor in keeping the cost low as well as getting the next manufacture to agree to make such a high spec low cost phone without hurting sales of their flagship model (ex: LG with their Optimus G)
I really think that SD cards are left out in nexuses because Google wants to promote cloud but more importantly are left with low storage capabilities on purpose in order to differentiate the phone from the manufacture's flagship. Its all part of the "compromise" between Google and the manufacture.
At the end of the day, I'm lucky enough to have 6GB a month of LTE data so storage space is becoming less and less important. I realize not everyone has data plans though and for those folk, the manufacture is hoping you'll pay more for their flagship that has an SD card slot or 32/64GB of internal storage.

Removable battery and camera at least as good as my Galaxy S3. Switch between my Nexus 4 and S3 and love everything about the Nexus 4 except the camera and the fact that I can't swap out the battery.
On screen buttons also reduce the actual screen size available.
Aluminum build would be nice as well so you don't have to baby the phone so much as I hate having to use a case on such a beautiful phone but am more concerned about cracking the back glass.

What do you expect of the nexus 7 (2)

If rumors are true the nexus 7(2) will hit the shelves some time in July. What improvement are you expecting? Things that you don't like of the current N7.
I'd love to have a thinner and lighter tablet. The size of the bezel also need to be reduced, hence more display screen. Better display, color saturation should be enhanced. That's it for me. I'm happy with everything else.
I'd like to see a better display, a better CPU and 2GB of RAM. HDMI out and a USB host port would be nice too, but the USB host port isn't necessary since we can use OTG.
If the current N7 had HDMI out, I could use it for most of my work as an enterprise SAN admin.

External SD please.
1. Better Battery Life - Battery Life was awesome on the first months of purchase, then quality started to degrade(I'm currently using franco's kernel to compensate)
2.Consistent Performance - One of the main reasons I bought a nexus7 was because of its awesome performance esp when playing games, but when doing normal stuff like browsing the web or switching between apps, its performance is not something to look into. It doesn't mean that all 4 cores should be used when using the calendar/calculator/gallery/clock, but probably atleast make the interface smoother.
3.microHDMI
4. MicroSD card would be nice, but not a big con if it doesn't have one.
5. Atleast a 720 or 1080 IPS Display
6. 4G LTE
Some things that aren't a need but would be grateful to have.

Thanks for the correction. I would like to put 1080 but that would probably be overkill for $199 price point.
Brighter display perhaps? Compared to ipad mini, the nexus 7's display seems dim
Maybe a rear camera
Same display resolution
IPS+ or Super AMOLED matrix
Bigger storage options (64 and 128 GB)
Shipping with Android 5.0
Snapdragon family processors, get rid of Tegra
MHL/HDMI output support
defo a external sd slot but thats not likely. So faster, better sound and screen.
Same price with first version.
2GB of ram.
Better design.
Better battery life.

what i would like to see from the next nexus...that is simple. 4" inches phone
Motorola,
16gb,
LTE,
13 mp camera,
720p screen,
slimmer,
more durable body,
dual speakers,
longer battery life
faster processor
....at $300 I think google should stick with a better quality 720p amoled screen and save money. I had the s4 and the difference in resolution is imperceptible to the eye. There is ZERO need for a battery and resource hogging 1080p display at the moment.
However, the big surprise will be the next version of android with Key Lime Pie 4.4 . It will obviously be always on and alert via google now. It would also provide low power instant view. I am tired of these Jellybean updates and ready for another leap in android technology with a universal message replacement, camera suite, and a fresh set of color with sharp tones throughout. The dull blue of ics is getting boring. Widgets will become more streamlined, with less pages on the homescreen. Active alerts on icons too. Maybe an advanced touchscreen capability with airview (like the s4) could be integrated as stock and provide more support in apps.
These are all very realistic and practical expectations I think. Expect the design philosophy as a mix between the moto x and the nexus 7 vertical logo. I just bought the nexus 4 today ,but I can already see the nexus 5 being a great hit. (with a 5" screen??)

[Q] Nexus 4 or HTC One X Plus - which mobile should i buy?

Hi,
I am looking to buy a mobile under Rs.25000/-
I found two best mobiles. LG Nexus 4 & HTC One X Plus
Only few difference i found,
HTC ONE X Plus
1GB RAM
32/64GB Internal Memory
1.7Ghz QuadCore Processor
LG Nexus 4
2GB RAM
16GB Internal Memory
1.5Ghz QuadCore Processor
So, I wanna know which mobile will have a good processing speed, i mean mobile should not hang.
I love playing games. SO i want no lag in HD games like asphalt 8, Nova 3.
As far as i am concerned , The obvious choice is a Nexus 4 apart from the horrible camera .

I am not sure, but doesn't the HOX have Tegra 3 , Nvidia Graphics that beat the Adreno of the Nexus?
Also camera is much better on HOX. And also display is much better on HOX.
Apart from that, battery and software is worse on the HOX if you got stock roms.
I had a HOX (not the +) for 2 years... sold it. Bought a Nexus 4 and gave Nexus 4 back because it had the earpiece/speaker static noise issue. Which all the phones have. Bought an LG G2 and that phone has the same issue ,.... woohoo...

Another thing, Nexus 4 has only 16GB memory, means you can not load on it closely nothing to big games. One big game and space gone ...
And there is no USB-OTG without hacking AND you need external power supply.
So NEXUS 4 for sure not for gaming
None of the above. Wait a few weeks for the Nexus 5 instead.
Wait for nexus 5! If you don't want to, still wait for it will totally be worth it!
Me Gusta!
