Did I say to use it for lagfix?....no but even someone who can't read well can use it to root....literally rooting for dummies
You were having trouble so I tried pointing you I'm the direction for easiest root method...heck you don't even have to know how to follow directions to use it
It's funny you talk down on somebody without even doing your research. If you did you would know that the app doesn't root your phone anymore. Thanks for the help tho I do appreciate it

I have saved on my computer Ryan's z4root.apk from 2-3 weeks ago, that will still Root won't it if I ever need on Stock 2.1.1?
I'd suppose it would - he just had to take out the root feature for some reason. The application wasn't defective.

Has anyone had trouble using the revo all in one tool to put the stock recovery back on their phone ? I've been trying to update to v8, but can't seem to replace cwm with the stock recovery

[Q] How do i go from V8 to V7 to root Revolution

I'm having trouble finding out how to go back to V7 on my Revolution so i can root it. Been lookin for days, anything i find says to use CWM but you need rot access for that. Any help would be legendary.
No need to downgrade anymore. This thread has a working root method on zv8.

Stock v8 backup?

Was wondering if anyone had a nandroid backup of the stock v8 ROM. I accidentally deleted mine and was going to update to check out the newest update.

Did you have any luck? I accidentally did the same when freeing up some space on one of my sd cards recently and just realized it... Anybody?
No luck, ended up just flashing the tot file
Sent from my VS910 4G using xda premium
Yeah, that's what I was about to do, since I had a feeling that I would end up needing to. Just waiting on the .tot to download and minus is really slow...
I also need one too if somebody has it
My tot is going really slow too

Alright, for some reason I can't get lgnpst to install on my pc, so I'm stuck at the moment. If someone would be so kind as to get a stock rooted zv8 nandroid I could flash that would be absolutely wonderful. Please someone?

Got permission to root and clean up stock rom or load custom.

I received the SGH-i957 for work and they told us not to add any weird apps. What I want to do is remove some the crappy AT&T apps to use less resources. I have rooted an EVO 4g and a HTC Arrive Windows Phone as well as my old HTC Touch Diamond. I have been reading the different threads and I am just curious what you guys think the best method is?
It really doesn't use more resources

If your work said to not mess with apps then I wouldn't really root it.
If you don't care about that, then just follow the rooting thread. I personally like the kernel root method

I will go into more detail I guess. I want to backup how they gave it to me and run it custom, be it remove apps or a new rom. I am worried about some kind of privacy issues. With my HTC Evo 4g I could backup the original rom completely and then uninstall programs or install a new rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using xda app-developers app
Flash twrp and make a nandroid backup then do your root process.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda premium
Yeah, I am definitely rooting it. It is ungodly slow with only a few programs on it and it keeps using at&t data even though I have removed all widgets and have very few apps installed. I know that know one wants to hear me say this but every time I use Android I dislike it more and more. I am sorry if I offend anyone.

Ok, I got permission from the boss to root and either clean up the stock rom, remove crap, or load a custom rom. So should I just follow the guide in this and if I have to run a custom rom use the on in this thread. Do I have to use the twrp and nandroid backup to make a backup? Or can I restore the stock rom buy using Method 2 after I follow the Method 1 in the root guide?
