Status bar Drop Shadow - Android Themes

Hello. I'm editing a theme for cm7 / tmobile theme chooser, and I'd like to know how do I make the default status bar drop a slight shadow as seen in the attached screenshots.
I guess the png for it is title_bar_shadow.9.png, but I can't find the reference to that file anywhere, not even by decompiling existing themes and reversing the process.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

I've moved over to MIUI so I apologize if I lead you in the wrong direction but, if I remember correctly, the title_bar_shadow.9.png image is the one you're looking for. Should be found in framework or systemUI.
Hope this helps.

Change color of Button Text & General theming Questions

Does anyone know how to change the color of the text on buttons? Ive been messing around with my phone a lot and have somehow changed the color to white and now I cant see the text on buttons. I'm running kaos froyo but all of the framework-res has been replaced. I have tried colorchanger.jar but it doesn't control these colors and I cant seem to find what file it is?
I have found a great looking theme that has all it's graphics in the drawable-hdmi folder. The only thing I need to do to use them is resize them to same size as the corresponding file for our phone, correct? Basically spinner_black.png has to be the same dimensions as the original.
Also I want to take the spinner, wait, icon out of the NFL mobile app and use it in my theme. I have been reading a lot and trying to figure this out on my own. I am now able to read all xml files in plain readable English and am able to convert it back to binary. I still don't know what all the java means but I'm trying to learn that now. Does anyone know any easy way to find what I'm looking for or should I just wait and figure it out with the knowledge of more java.
For those who are interested the resources.arsc file found in framework-res.apk is where the control of the color of buttons is located. I dont know how to decompile it into readable form yet but that is what controls colors and size of images for some things. Colors for the notification bar is held is services.jar so at least Im making some headway. I will keep posting small things I find here to help anyone wanting to make there own themes.
P.S. My **** is starting to look really sweet
Did you figure it out?

Modifying the Notification bar

Ok, somebody please help me out here before i go insane. Ive read countless threads and forums on this and it makes absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL.
im running Darky's newest Rom, rc4. with the Steelblue theme overtop of it.
Right now im trying to further modify the notification bar, more specifically im trying to change the the color of bar that says "On Going" and is circled in Pink.
also want to change the bottom of the pulldown bar also circled in pink.
And if possible i would like to change the background part that is circled in green.
since theres this new post rule its not letting me post a screenshot but the link is below

i have tried editing all the status_bar_XXXXX.png files in the framework-res.apk, but i havnt been able to change the stuff i have circled. Partly because i dont think im even looking at the right files, as in there not in the framework.apk
someone help me out please!
Im pretty sure you are using a samsung
So, those images you wanted to change are in twframework.apk
For Gingerbread roms, those files are in SystemUI.apk

MIUI Status Bar Thread?

Ive decided to try out MIUI and Im liking it so far, now Im starting to customize. I've searched around and found special lockscreen, icon, and other threads but is it possible there is a MIUI status bar thread around? I seem to have no luck finding any status bars at all. Can someone lend me a hand?
I don't recall seeing threads dedicated to status bars. You can find a theme in which you like the status bar and only apply the status bar using the MIUI Theme Manager. A nice feature of MIUI themes is you can apply certain parts of a theme if you don't want the entire thing.
Thanks for the help!
Or...if you're really feeling creative and you possess some Photoshop skill. You can download some MIUI themes, open em up (rename .mtz to .zip and unzip, once decompressed you'll find some files"com..."just add the .zip to the end and unzip) and edit the png images to something you like.
Once you have an understanding of the files and where they need to be. You'll be creating your own themes in no time.
Good luck.

Transparent Pull Down bar

I'm looking to replace my pull down notification bar background with a transparent texture.
I'm running Deodexed LA6 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416192
I've never done any of this kind of editing before, but I've found the odd guide and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of exactly which texture/s should be changed, and how to make a replacement texture (download GIMP and make transparent grey texture in that?)
failing that, if anyone has a mod that I've missed, or would be willing to make one, that would be great too.
Thanks
I did the same on my Galaxy S2 or better some themer provided y flashable zip file to be flashed with CWM and I edited the background image.
The statusbar background images is located in system\app\SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\ and is called status_bar_background.png. At least this was the case for the S2.
I can provide you the .zip file, you can have a look into it and maybe adapt the structure to get it running on the Note. Just drop me a line if you want the zip-file.
