[Q] Gaming problem with gingerbread ROMS on milestone

every since iv installed CM7 2.3.4 iv had a problem that i cant really play any 3D games they load up but just turn off and sometimes i need to do a battery pull because it freezes
any help in recommending a rom for the milestone for gaming?

A lot of Gingerbread ROMs are laggy when you play 3D games. You can try iceandfire or FroyoMOD, and try zeppelinrox's supercharging.

Like shadedude66 said gb roms are slower in comparison to froyo for gaming when it should be faster becausee gb was designed for phones with 512mb of ram. So it lags on the milestone. But if you use zepplinrox's supercharger iceandfire is a gaming god

How to make your note smooth and fast?

Guys, recently just flashed kingdroid a I'm in search of the best rom. I'm disappointed however because my note scored fairly low in antutu benchmark test. Any one knows what makes the phone faster and get higher scores in benchmarks? Thanks.

Ehh....benchmarks vary so much. It all depends on what you are running (app-wise) and such. Anything can change a benchmark score.
Does the ROM "feel" smooth? Does it run good for you? This is what matters most, not benchmarks.

What really borders me about the note is the scrolling. There will always be aome scrolling lag. No doubt the phone is fast, but why the scrolling is laggy? Eg. Whatsapp scroll.

Tried the bestest rom and kernel out there but it still cant eliminate the scroll lag. Well there might be some improvements but its not as smooth as sgs2. Anyone out there having smooth scrolling as good as sgs2?

Theres really no best KERNEL or CUSTOM ROM unless you try them all and test it on your device, EACH device acts differently, for instance ICS Stunner may be really awesome on a majority of Galaxy Notes but on mine it struggles.
You can't go wrong by trying out all different ROMS and match the suited Kernel, I know its time consuming but it's worth it in the end as you'd know which ROM and Kernel suits your needs.

I am on Kingdroid and I flash Franco r5. When I used it with Franco updater, I can run the phone at 1600 MHz with v2.0. I am happy with the performance compare with other ICS rom I tried. However it is still not as fast in scrolling as my present sgs2 with Malice rom.

By saying the "best" rom and kernel means that the majority of the community is using and trust. And i had tried ALL the ics custom roms but still the lag is there. Im coming to know maybe there is no way to eliminate the lag. If someobe out there claim that they have no lag, pls share a video thanks.

When I tried some ics roms I found them to be really laggy and there were a few bugs. If u want something really smooth I suggest u stick with GB for the time being until all tje ics problems get sorted out.

Just try Rocket ROm v4 i think the scrolling in RR roms is generally smoother compared to other roms as i have been on all ICS roms there and found RR roms has better scrolling generally. Asylum too is smooth with thor .10 kernel

Internal memory in Paranoidandroid

Is it possible to setup Paranoidandroid to use internal memory card as default place for installing applications? There was such an option in Temasek`s CM7 build but in Paranoidandroid I can`t find it.

Try going in to settings the storage .. press the menu button u should get 2 options one for mass storage and the other for SD card position try changing that to internal and reboot.. not on paranoid android but most cm9 builds have this option

I`ve got one more problem with ParanodiAndroid - Opera Mobile doesn`t work. When I`m trying to start Opera Mobile I`ve got Opera logo and then black screen apears and nothing happens. Is there any solution to fix it?

I'm aware of that and investigating the issue. Will hopefully be fixed in build 6.

Yeah opera mini hasn't been working on any ics build.. I think.. I use opera mini when on data (uses less data) .. but tbh tonyp has a fixed ics browser with no lag no flickers u should try it I did and was amazed

I`ve got this one, rotation works perfect but stock browser runs much much slower than Opera Mobile (comparing to temasek`s CM7).

Could be do do with hardware acceleration cm7 will always be much faster untill we get a an official ics from LG... as far as I am aware opera mobile requires hardware acceleration much like chrome (at least that's what was posted when ics builds started) ..
If u want a fast browser u should try opera mini its just lightning IMO its not fancy (no flash player but I don't mind that tbh) and its really user friendly.. let me know if u do have a go

Lag when zooming and scrolling web pages

Hey guys, so i have flashed a lightweight rom called icecream sunday final. Ever since then when i pinch to zoom on webpages it lags a lot, same thing for scrolling. Is there a way to get smoother scrolling and zooming? Are there any mods or scripts that could help? Is there a rom with smooth zooming and scrolling webpages?? Thanks

If ur rom has oc kernel, then overclock it to 720-730 Mhz. You should see some difference.

Try a newer barebones ROM, icecream sunday final is a bit old now
anyway, if you zoom and scroll while the page is still loading, it will lag. Try waiting for it to finish loading
also, try a different browser, like dolphin or opera mini

Do u know any other barebone roms out there????

Well, even if you get a bare bone rom, you wont get far.If you can't stand the lags at all,then getting a new phone is your only option

Lagless for stock?

After tried with cm7.2, i using stock (dxkt6 2.3.6) for stable and bugfree. However, this rom is laggy! It sometime lag when unlock, srolling in apps, change page in launcher. Special, the dialer is lag too, it take ~5s to lauch, one times, the dialer hang with black screen that i must restart phone.
Is this lag because i install more app? (I install ~50 apps) that use more RAM?

I don't think so, its some bugs in the stock itself, im using stock and it feels the same way as you. I hear galaxy y got a stablity update yesterday/ recently, i hope mini gets one too.
I never had stock freezing or black screen issues. But yea its laggy kind of :/

I had one timea only, the dialer hang with black screen, but other apps is work ok
It seem stock use more RAM cause phone laggy
