[Q]Ringtone/Vibration Problems related to CM 7.2 Apocalypse final - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello guys,
since few days I am trying this wonderful rom based on CM 7. Everything is super fine except 2 issues:
1) Ringtone: Even if I change the ringtone on settings menu, the device always use the ringtone 'Playa' for incoming calls.
2) There is a way for remove the vibration for the key "return"?( the one on the right of the home key)
I hope you could help me,
thanks in advance
Dave

Well you can disable vibration feedback by going here:
Settings -> Audio or Volume (I don't remember how it is in english, by the way the fourth from top) -> Last option in the bottom, toggle it. I far as I know you can't disable the vibration only of the return key without the menu one.
Instead for the first problem I suggest you to try a personal audio file placed in sdcard/media/audio/ringtones (if you don't have these folders, just create them).
After you've placed a file into the ringtones folder go in setting and select it from the usual menu.
If this don't work you can try reflash the rom...

Touch-IT 2.3 Wing fixes

This rom was created by ITJE and it's the best ROM that I've used to date.
For all those that are using the Touch-IT 2.3 without any problems please skip this thread.
The following has been included in the CAB:
1. Disable ShowSIM //not really a fix
2. RingTon0 - av0pw3r (ring and vibrate) //not really a fix
3. Control Panel (basically, the entire HTCCPL was incorrect)
a. Power
b. Backlight
c. Key Lock
d. GPRS Setting
e. Microphone AGC
f. Device Information
g. CSD Line Type
h. TouchFLO
These are all registry changes. If you are not comfortable with registry changes then please do not install this CAB. I'm not responsible for any damages caused by this CAB. I've personally tested it on my T-mobile Wing.
PS: if you have any requests, please let me know.
In regards to #2, are you speaking on the problem with text alers and such not making any sound?

no. #2 is just a custom setting on incoming calls.
Well then, are you having the same problem as me (text alerts not ringing or vibrating)?
I don't know what happened before the installation of my cab but I just tested it by sending myself a text and it vibrates and makes that sound.
Well the thing is, its not that it doesn't work at all. It seems that after I have received a certain amount of text, the alert goes to sleep. I will still receive them, the screen will light up and I can see that I have a message, but there is no sound or vibrate. It will not go back to normal until I go into Sounds & Notifications, select text message, then press stop and then play again. Its very odd that it does this and I don't know if I'm the only one having the problem.
Very cool, was missing that backlight icon. Thanks!

lower dialpad volume

i wanted to know if there was a way to lower the volume when im dialing the number. its as if my speaker is about to blow when im trying to dial a number. anyone know the registry edit?
Never did get a sloution for this, except by covering the speaker with my finger
Would be interested to know if there's reg hack, then we could pass it to the Kaiser Tweak guys!
There may be 3 ways to improve your situation.
The first would be to change from long tones to short tones. This wont reduce the volume, but if you have it set on long, it will shorten the amount of time the tone is emitted.
(Phone>Menu>Options> then change keypad to short tones)
The secdond would be to do the same as above, but to change it to "Nothing"
The third would be to turn t vibrate using KaiserTweak (a great app by the genii of xda-dev.com) where there is a setting to change the phone keypresses from tones to vibrate (KaiserTweak: Call > Dialer Button Behaviour"
u can also click on the speaker icon and bring down the volume for the mobile icon. but this will reduce the overall volume of ur device.

i dont have this option on my kaiser tweak
make sure u update your xml file, provided by nikagl
i have the one from dec. 9 and even on his post under calls it doesnt show a Call > Dialer Button Behaviour"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349009
thats the latest, and i just checked there is no dialer button behavior.
Only solution i can think of is that you would need to turn down the system volume, since it is a system sound. However, you can try searching for the dialer sounds, modifying them with a sound editor(decrease the amp, or something like that.) so you can keep your system volume up, while dialer doesnt deafen you.

If you looks through the Kaiser Tweaks thread, it's in there. Not in the actual xml thread, but in the one where you post questions. You could try searching vibrating keypad and variations of the like. He actually made an xml file for it, and it's posted in that thread, he just didn't include it in the official release.
I tried it out, and it seemed to work fine. Like a dummy, I stopped using it, because I thought it would no longer work with automated systems (like checking voicemail etc.) but then I realized the sound I hear has nothing to do with the info transmitted by the phone lol, so I may have to give it another try.
i found the right XML file with more tweaks than i had...for those that want it here it is
Lovely - I hadn't noticed the Tweak update - All quiet now!

Screen Standby & Navigation Control Issue

Hi All,
I know there are few experts who can help me with following three questions.
1) When my phone goes into standby, it comes back to normal when I take stylus out from its place. Is there any other way we can bring screen back to normal? (pressing power button doesnt bring it online)
2) navigation control doesnt work at all. I have tried using it clockwise and anticlockwise while scrolling songs and contacts but it doesnt work. Is there any settings for that?
3) How can I change text message tone? I want to use my own made .wma/.mp3 file
Thanks,
AMJAD
1. that is this unique phone features, why do u remove stylus if u dont want to use phone??? u can install gyrator (search) to control this feature
2. search for advance configuration v3.3 by schapp. by default this device dont do navi scroll except in opera, album and music player. by using this sofware u can set it to use in program, contact etc
3. to change text message in tone u have to have .wav music file and place it into windows directory then only u can go to setting->sounds & notifications and change to particular one u want to use

disable TF3D2 tab vibration

I'm using a kitchen rom and whenever I press on a different TF3D2 tab, it vibrates. For the life of me, I don't know where to go to disable this function! If anyone can lead me to the right place (because I've been looking in the SETTINGS folder but to no avail), I'd be appreciated.
Hope this helps...
Your rom may have the 'TouchResponse' program installed. To turn it off go to Setting>System>TouchResponse Setting. Turn the 'Vibrate On Touch' option off from there.
Hope that helps!

Help me with Bean Stalk Rom please!

1)anyone can tell me how i can deactivate the vibration when i press the touch button?
2) is there a setting that can make my home button touch again? since I installed this rom I am forced to press the home button.
These two problems I have with this rom just there because I do not find the settings for that.
thanks in advance
1) you must go in audio settings, other sounds and you can find the option to disable.
2) no, there is no option yet... But you can download an app called Fingerprint Quick Action... You find the app on XDA forum.
Thanks a lot
