App to lock internet connections needed - Galaxy Tab 2 Themes and Apps

Hello,
I would like to find an app, which can lock with password the wifi and mobile data connections.
Yes, I would like to keep my connections always on, because my Internet is unlimited and if somebody stole my Tablet (P5100) and turn off these connections, I can't find it.
I tried a lot of App lock software, but nothing worked. I still can turn them off with the shortcuts under the clock.
Thanks your help!

The problem is that I already have Antivirus app (Eset Antivirus) with account till 2014, so I can't change the Antivirus now.
I need a standalone app for this thing.

What's more important to you? A few bucks on an antivirus app or a few hundred for a new device? Sometimes it's cheaper to waste an app for long term. That or you could encrypt device

But...check this one...Haven't used all don't know. I just went to play store and searched anti theft

You are right, but first I would like to find a solution with keep ESET. After this, of course change the antivirus app.
But maybe a software can lock the connection settings...nobody who bought app to find the device if it stolen thinking about what happen if the thief turn off the internet and the mobile network? Because this is the base of this problem.

And i saw Cerberus..hear people stand by it. Has free trial

Yes, Cerberus is my fav. But the problem with it tha same as at others: if the thief can turn off the mobile network, mobile data and wifi, that not working the software.
That's why i would like to lock these options.

Yes, I tested it, but only works with rooted tablets.
I don't wan't to root it, because Service provider (Vodafone) will declain it to repair, if it has got any problem.
It's just a 2 weeks old P5100.
I need an app which is not need root to force mobile data connection.

Blocking Apps Internet Connection & Different "Services"
Rooted device needet!
I use combination of
Droidwall (to block general Internet Access divided in App XY Wlan (y/n) Mobile (y/n)
Available from Market
Using as last barrier in cause of LBE is tricked out :fingers-crossed:
LBE Security (blocks different things per App: contacts,SMS,Location, WLAN, Mobile...)
Market says: Not for Galaxy Tab2 - nonsense it works fine!
Copied .apk from my HTC DesireHD to Tablet and installed manually
---------- Post added at 12:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 PM ----------
Ups, overread the Password thing...
Don't know if LBE has it as feature - i don't need this really...

Thanks Captain Blackbird, but as I wrote before, I don't want to root my tablet,
just "lock" the turn on/off mobile data and wifi functions.
Overall, if I can "lock" three functions: wifi, mobile data and turn off/restart/airplane mode functions,
than no easy way before the thief and Cerberus can protect my tablet.

What are you running? Jb? Ics? In jb there are profiles you can set up kind of like in a computer. You could just make a profile blocking access to those features and make it default automatically in boot.

Solution found!
Need two apps:
- Tasker (need a few cents)
- App Lock (free)
In Tasker possible to set between in two times (00:00-23:59) processed. I set that in every 2 minutes (this is the minimum interval) check the wifi and mobile data and connect to it.
- App lock protect the uninstall, to modify settings and open/steup the Tasker.
It works perfectly, if somebody turn off the connection in two minutes will work again.
Now Cerberus can find the stolen/lost tablets.
Thanks for everyone!

[Q] Any suggestion on auto-start app manager/stopper/modder?

Hello guys,
I'm looking for a decent app that monitors and prevents certain processes from automatically starting. I'm not looking for a "killer", which reacts after the processes has started. I'm looking for a way that can stop certain processes from starting by itself. The best example would be: my FM Radio would start by itself?! And I don't want that, because I rarely listen to it, yet I still need it there, only when I manually open it up and listen to the radio...
The information from my search are heavily mixed up and some are extremely old (dated back to 2009), yet the newer ones are mostly vague in terms of a verdict as to what the best solution is.
I would appreciate your input and insights, and click that Thanks button generously
an app that i can suggest you is rom toolbox pro. one of its many functions is disabling the programs' autostart. i have to tell you that i haven't used this function yet, because i'm a bit noob and i wouldn't like to reflash the rom. the app is a bit expensive, but there is also the trial version, so before buying it, you can see if it is what you are searching for.
Thanks for your reply!
If I understood correct, you couldn't use the "anti-autostart" function because you haven't rooted yet?
I agree, ROM Toolbox Pro is a fine tool, and does this.
Before I started messing with ROMs, I just used Autostart. It does only this. What it also does is allow you to turn off the 'listeners' each app has for certain events.
For installed apps, you can often just disable all listeners to stop them popping up when they like and chew into my battery. For system apps, be more careful (or leave them). Most event names will mean nothing, so use with care. I try them one at a time and make sure everything still works, typically.
I think that is more comprehensive that ROM Toolbox, although that does a lot more. I have bought both anyway, and both are available for free to try out.
I seriously recommend DroidWall as well. It gives you control over what app can use what method, or none, to access the internet. A Must-Have, IMO.

I think you can use the 'don't start' without Root. You cannot block the listeners until you have Root, so it is probably a waste of time. They'll just pop right up again whenever they wish.
Great, Jerome! ROM toolbox downloading
'Autostarts' works fine for me.
Using Autostarts here as will.
System tuner pro is also a very useful tool for app- and task-handling and many other things too.

^Thanks!
I encountered a problem in ROM Toolbox though:
In Auto Start Manager, when I either try to disable an event or application, it says "disabling connectivity changed...", and loads from there infinitely. (more than 10 minutes). I ended up force quit it every time. Open it up again, it does show the event/application chosen was disabled, but I don't know if I have to force quit it everytime... Does anybody have any experience like this?
Have your superuser works perfact?
Anybody have a delayed response on the ICS leak roms with autostart settings?
I.e. In gemini app manager and rom toolbox, when you toggle autostart, it takes like 10 seconds before you can carry on.
Like a delay in acquiring superuser rights.
I do suspect it has to do with the rather rushed root kernel by CF, but I can live with it ;-)

Do you get a popup from SuperUser requesting rights for Rom Toolbox when you start it the fist time? If so,m check the 'always' box and press 'OK'. You should get a message ('toast') saying access granted if you start the app again.
This assumes you have Root. If you do not, and you still get events disabled by ROM Toolbox, you have discovered a new 'exploit' that Rom Toolbox is using!
Best one I've ever used is App Manager. Doeing everything you said you need

Yes, it is working fine. I checked su's log, and it shows the permission was granted.
Also, now that the toolbox has another issue. It won't save settings. For example, somehow my email initiator application was disabled (never set it that way), and when I press it to enable it, it says success. But after reboot, the email application is gone (in home screen and app drawer), and I open the toolbox to check it, it's still disabled. I temporarily solved this issue by deny the toolbox's permission in SU, but this is obviously not a permanent fix.
I emailed the author, but there's no response yet. So please help me
Many thanks!

Delays in mine also, except that it never finishes. The longest I waited was 60 minutes, and it still says please wait...

Sorry, I should've stated this clearly in the OP. I am rooted with ChainFire's kernel, I also have the toast notification poped up (already set it at the first time as "OK" and "always")
But it always says please wait...and never recovers. Pressing the "back" button has no response, pressing home button will let me go back to homescreen but the toolbox is still running in background, and if I open it up again, it's still at "please wait" status, which is why i always had to end it up in force quitting..
Also, in my last post, I described this new issue: it won't save settings on quit (or on system restart). I disable or enable certain events, after the restart, the event was still blocked, and the app icon was gone. I could only get my Email app (samsung stock) back by denying the toolbox's permission in SU.
Im using Android Assistant..
its free in the android market.. it takes 1 minute boot time for the app to load and you can manually shutdown/disable all running apps (that would load always everytime you boot up your phone)

Sounds like a severe problem. I would try one of the others suggested, they appear just as good. Autostart always does what I want without issues too. I do not use ROM Toolbox for blocking listeners, just for ROM utilities.

It is good and useful, but it does not block listeners. If you do not do that, the apps will just pop up again.
^ Thanks for all your help fellas!
Just an update: I've got a response from the author and he said it's a known issue, and will hopefully be fixed in next update or so, so let's hope for good

Has anyone gotten wifi tether to work on the leaked Droid 4 ICS builds?

I can't seem to get WiFi Tether to work on ICS build 6.16.206 and was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.
Thanks
WiFi Tether does not seem to work properly but I am posting this from my Xoom while tethered to D4 using the Mobile Hotspot with the entitlement check removed, so that method does work.
I don't like to use the Mobile Hotspot and prefer the Wifi Tether app, but it looks like it needs tweaking for these builds.
Hmmm. I tried the Mobile Hotspot SQLite hack and that didn't work either. It gets stuck at "Identifying" when I try to connect with my PC. Weird.
Free wifi works using Sqlite
I am using my mobile hotspot to send post this reply. After I watched a video on youtube on how to get wifi on the Bionic using SqLite Editor. I gave it a try and it did work. I don't know what to expect next from Verizon so if you wanna try it TIGHTEN UP YOUR BALLS AND SEAL YOUR BUTT HOLE in case Verizon decides to f* you up or break your balls because I am not responsible for the outcome
HOw to bypass Verizon Mobile Hotspot restriction to use wifi:
1-Purchase and install SqLite Editor over the market
2-Open SqLite, scroll down the list and choose "Settings Storage"(the one with the hammer and wrench)
3-On the next screen select "settings.db"
4-Then choose "settings"
5-Once on the MS-Excel-sheet-looking page, hit the menu button
6-On the pop-up menu select "set filter"
7-In the "Filter value" field type the word "check"
8-Click and hold on the "entitlement_check"
9-"Edit" the value from "1" to "0"
10-Exit the app and reboot
11-Check Mobile Hotspot under your System Settings and you are back onto free wireless tethering
N.B: For those of you, the cheap bastards, please don't try to snatch a refund by trying to uninstall the app within 15 minutes of purchase. Have a bit of decency, will you?!!!
I don't know why this won't work for me. I froze a bunch of stuff with Titanium Backup so I thought one of those may have been the culprit but after unfreezing everything I still can't successfully connect. Grrr.
Maybe that is why. I did it on bone stock. Try to bring everything back to normal then reboot. Once done try the method again.

Need help trying to bypass AT&T's Tether Verification

Back when I was using my LG Optimus G Pro on AT&T I was able to enable tethering verification bypass by editing one of the tables in an sqlite database in com.android.providers.settings from a 0 to a 1.
Hoping and praying that it would be just as easy, I went looking in the same location and alas, did not find the same table entry I found in my LG OG Pro.
I am on a grandfathered unlimited plan and would like to be able to share my data with my other devices as I have for the last 5 years.
Can anyone assist with this matter? Or is a custom ROM my only option?
And just to note, I've already tried FoxFi and all it does is access/modify the stock tethering options. When I try to turn Tethering on, it says "verifying" then directs me to ATT's site to add tethering to my plan. WHICH I REFUSE TO DO.
Thanks in advance!
Just FYI I tried adding the entry: tether_entitlement_check_state 0 to the settings.db and rebooting...but when turning on the hotspot, my phone still tries to verify with ATT.

I prefer Hola -better internet this gives per app proxy & in yhe list of apps try tethering apps
you may not be able to use wifi tethering if disabled form operators side.

but you can try VPNs(Hotspot shield & Hola) for same & report here if it works.

If the L90 doesn't reboot while rooting,Install SuperSU then you're fine.

Please try this
Install the apk
Then go into Settings -> Connections -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names. Once there, press menu, and choose "Reset to default". (Make sure you have at least one apn checked after resetting defaults)
Then try Tethering. You may or may not need to reboot after resetting APNs.
Let me Know
Get Wifi tether router set interface to wlan0 then create new APN, name whatever you want, apn to fast.t-mobile.com and make sure it's set to ipv4. Set tether provisioning in build prop to false. Reboot. Enable wifi tether and try it out, should be good. I set the build prop tweaks in 3c toolbox so it should stay, tethered around 12 gigs so far with no issue.
