I hope someone will upload this package but before that you can change these registry keys to run Nokia OEM apps on your device:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo]
"OemName"="NOKIA"
"MODeviceName"="Lumia 900"
I have done that

Iv done this on my Samsung Focus, and got the Camera Extras Xap to install, I can open Camera Extras and it says I should have the settings in my camera settings, but when I try to use them, they are not there...
There is something that says "Photo Camera Settings" but its blanked out...
Is it because my phone isnt connected to the internet/data?????
you guys need to flash a rom with nokia dlls otherwise it won't work.
First backup all camerasettingsmanifest.xxxx.xml files from your Windows folder.
This setting works only on 5MP cameras.
1. Deploy View attachment 1337805 and run it.
2. Copy and replace all camerasettingsmanifest.xxxx.xml files from My documents\My Ringtones to Windows folder
3. Reboot your device
It works on hd7 (with 5MP Camera) but if it does not work on your device you can use your backed up camera setting files.
Special thanks to dotcomp for deepshining rom.

But I don't think it refers to Nokia dlls here it is all of my Nokia Dlls: View attachment NokiaCounters_provxml.xap (like before run and copy all files from My documents\My Ringtones to Windows folder
and Nokia counter that need these dlls: View attachment Counters_v1.1.0.0.xap
You may see this Camera Extras View attachment 1337972 in your camera settings.

I'm glad to hear that. for devices without 5MP cameras you may need to modify your original .xml tags.

I would like to introduce in one .cab/.zip file the hexagonal start menu files compatible with WM 6.5 and 240x240 screens (like the Treo 750). The hexagonal start menu was removed from some WM 6.5 installations and now you can reinstall it.
Comes in two versions, with and without border.
.cab instructions:
1) Create an ActiveSync connection with your phone.
2) Copy the .cab file to your device.
3) Locate the .cab file on your device using Total Commander, or Resco Explorer.
4) Run the .cab file and let it install. Accept OVERWRITE if prompted.
5) Soft reset your device!
.zip instructions:
1) Create an ActiveSync connection with your phone.
2) Unzip the .zip file to your place of choice.
3) Browse your device, and copy and paste the files to your phone or SD card.
4) Use Total Commander, or Resco Explorer to locate where you placed the files and COPY/OVERWRITE all three files to the \Windows directory on your device.
5) Soft reset your device!
When your phone is finished booting open your start menu and enjoy some hexagons
thanks
I will give it try...

There was a problem with the .cab software I was using and it stripping the information from the .cpr files. I have re-uploaded the files in .zip format and changed the instructions. Try it again I promise it will work! This new way is more manual work, but it is very easy to do. I recommend using Total Commander as linked above. When in Total Commander select all three files and select copy, then browse to your \Windows directory and select paste. It will ask you to overwrite a file, select YES. After you are done, soft reset your phone.
Updated with working .cab files, feel free to download and install them!
great work
I've just instaled the .cab of the one with borders, and it's just sweet...
it's just beatiful... I RECOMEND it

Thank you! If there is enough interest I will make different shapes/colors/FX as well!
Will this work on a 240x320 device? I'm guessing no since you labeled it 240x240. Just wondering, I would like to try it out.
What is the difference between with or w/o border? What border?

I made that same question to my self, and just tryed both...
with borders you have the hexagon and borders highligted, on the one with no borders you just have the hexagon... you will not experience memory problems since the memory used to make the hexagons is the same used by windows to highligt the icons on the start menu...
I prefer the one with borders if you want to know

Mobile Office
I notice that there is no office installed with this ROM. When I tried to update my Office to 6.1, it would not install because it was not currently on. Is there a way to install a previous version so I can do the update?
Aside from that, I am liking this 6.5. I had 6.1 and it didn't look any different from the previous 6.0. I am using an unlocked Cingular 750 on the T-Mobile network. I have been using a Black Dash, which I loved the Kavana ROM on!
You can get office from here

apks are just zip files. Set them to open with your archive manager or change the extension to .zip. All applications install their settings into /data/data/%PACKAGENAME% where %PACKAGENAME% is the Java-style package name of the app.
Ugh, no need to use the evil "R" word here. You're going to give us nightmares!
Each application stores its configurations/settings in its home directory in /data/data as pointed out by the previous poster. You might want to bone up on 'sqlite3' as most configuration settings tend to be stored in such databases.

I'am trying right now to find this confing files, thanks, I'll let you know if it's ok.
Note that depending on what you are trying to do, the config files may or may not be able to adjust the property you're after. No matter what, the program itself must support what you are trying to do (this goes for ALL OS's -- you simply can't change something that is irrelevant and expect it to do what you want) and more often than not, the ability to adjust that property would be presented by the program itself.
That is, of course, not to say that manually adjusting the config files is useless, because there IS a lot you can do directly from the config files.

Download APK2EXE and NSIS install system
Follow these steps to create your executable!
* Extract APK2EXE to a new directory
* Add your APK to the directory
* Doubleclick APK2EXE.NSI and edit the 3 lines containing information about your application.
* Right click the NSI file, and select 'Compile NSIS Script' - this will create your install EXE
* Done!
And it is a .apk to .exe converter !!!

because your trying to run a Android application on Windows.
it's like saying I want to make this MAC application run on windows.. it just doesn't work..
I dont care what programs say.. Its not coded for Windows so it wont understand what the program does...
BTW you application you speak of is meant to install APK's FROM windows not TO windows

shouldnt be too tough. just make a executable file that installs and configures adb, allows user to select apk or select a folder of apk's, create a .bat file that tells windows command prompt adb push the .apk to the sd card, then adb install /sdcard/nameofapk.apk
simple enough!
Can anyone tell me how to edit the app / extracted APK file to make the phone think it's a completely different app i.e. install it twice...

Thanks for replying, I've had a go with that and extracted / decompiled, compiled, signed, and that doesn't work, when I try to install the newly created apk it still tries to overwrite it...
I've watched the vid and read the comments but haven't worked it out yet... Can you point me in the right direction about which bit to edit?
i think you need apktool
Cool, I'll look into that... Any pointers on how to do it once I've got apktool?
command line usage, this tool unpak and repak
I've got a Lumia 620 on the crappy aio/cricket carrier that won't update past Amber. I do like a couple of the aio ringtones that I'd like to extract before I flash to one of the EU CV ROMs. I've got the phone with the aio Amber firmware installed as well as the aio Amber ROM from the Nokia Software Suite.
If the ringtones are stored in or under the C:\Windows directory, you can extract them with my webserver app. If not, your odds aren't good since you don't have interop-unlock. You could extract them using JTAG, but that's expensive and tricky.

For ROM zip you would need to unzip it using 7-zip, then navigate the system/app folder and find what might be a folder called "gallery" everything you need should be inside that folder. For an installed ROM just use a file explorer app and navigate to the system/app folder then copy and paste the gallery to the root of your internal storage. All this assumes the gallery is in the same location as the photos app is on my stock ROM.
Awesome, found it.
I usually backed it up using ES Explorer, but that broke the editor.
The lib folder is now included, so I should be good to go. Will try later!
Thanks!

The unzip will not completely work with the changes google is making. The newer compiled roms are compiled into images and not like they used to be.

Forget about ripping it from a sysimage. Install it as an application from specially modified sources;
https://github.com/lbdroid/android_packages_apps_Gallery2
Or if you trust me, binary; https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Gallery2.apk

I already encountered the image thing you both mention.
Luckily I was able to pull it from the installed ROM.
Got it working now. Editor works just fine.
Last thing though...
Each time I hit the edit button, the pop-up for "select action" shows up. It only displays the editor to select.
Is there any way I can get rid of that?
Setting a default action for it somehow, somewhere?

Just transfer them in to your device Download folder and then enable unknown sources in security settings and then use the file explorer to navigate to the Download folder and tap the apk to install it.. It really doesn't matter where you put it as long as you go into settings and then Lock screen and security and enable unknown sources it'll work fine.

What kind of wallpapers are you using that are APK files? I usually just use Jpeg or PNG files and I created a new folder within the photos folder on the phone and it finds them. are you trying to change entire themes? if so you probably need to root it as often the phone will not open APKs without root.
Like I said to keep it simple I would just search to find JPegs of the wallpapers you want. Just my humble opinion
