KFU for kindle fire HD 7" release date? - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know that they haven't come out yet, but I'm really exited for this tool. The newer kindles should be epic with jellybean. Can anyone estimate a release date for the kfu?

There's an unwritten XDA rule that you do not ask for ETAs. I see that this is your first post, so this bit of knowledge is going to serve you well and keep you from getting flamed in the future.
Before any utility like KFU gets developed, there must first be a procedure for replacing the bootloader, recovery, etc. Before such a procedure can even be conceived, there must be an exploitable weakness in the device. With all the talk about Amazon securing the bootloader for their new devices, the possibility that this can ever be done at all is in doubt. On top of that, nobody's even taken a look at one in the wild, so it's all just speculation at this point. In short, you are going to have to let the horse catch up to the cart.

How disappointing...
I was hoping this was a "B&N approved" the new Android 2.2 release for Nook Color...
Oh well... Keep waiting...
the book is on a shelf within 5 feet of the Nooks at my local B&N
Embarrassed... Stupid of me, meant to send the book link, sent a screen of my omegle trolling instead.

[Q] Helpp! Kindle Fire HD with Team Project Get this OFF

I purchased a used fire hd and it has team win recovery on it.
How can I get it back to the original screens like the new purchased one

I highly doubt it
Why would you embarrass yourself like that and then put a phone #. If you had a KFHD with TWRP... and then ask to have it removed.... quit wasting everyone's time....

Yeah this guy actually seems legit. Once he posts pictures (highly unlikely) we can get a copy of his bootloader and see it ourselves. He may have discovered a breakthrough here.

[Q] Total n00b question

Sooooooo I have what will more than likely amount to a laughable n00b question: I have a Kindle Fire HD 7" and I'm thinking about rooting. But Why? What are the benefits? I understand the benefits of rooting an iPhone or Wii(which I have done both), but don't know what I stand to gain by rooting my KFHD7. Maybe someone could shed some light on this subject? Thank you in advance.
Unrooted kindle fire hd is like living in communist Russia.
Rooted kindle fire hd is like living in America.
Lol.. Or its all about being able to unlock the possibilities of your device.
Read through these forums to get a real idea of what "root" can do.

Quality response, I actually Spilt a bottle of bud when I read it!!!
Seriously read the forums and your looking to unlock the true potential of the kfhd rather than whatever Amazon want you to use it for.

Replace launcher and Google play store are the huge benefits to root...also the ability to remove updates and advertisements on the lock screen ...other than that it's more tinkering...
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
Well I'm all for tinkering so I'm going to give it a go. I'll take a look around the website and find out where to start.
..as someone who likes to work on my own stuff, ie: fixing my house and cars as well as building my own PCs, I wasnt diggin' the fact that I didnt have total control over a personal computing device.
Even if I didnt add the Play Store or change my loader, rom etc, I probably would have rooted anyway just to be in control of my Kindle at a higher level.

[Q] Why is there so little development available for the kindle fire hd 7?

The title pretty much says it all.

why? well, because development start when people like you (normal people) try to help, developers dont appear instantly.
Sent from my KFTT using xda app-developers app
I plan on working on AOKP for it, but it's been out for so long that I would've thought that there would be more ROMS for it.

The development has been slow due to a fairly locked down device.

I had a jar of "Instant Developer" (just add caffeine) on the shelf here, but it's way over its expiration date.
It seems that for some it's not enough what is done here. They didn't have "fun" for months trying to improve our Kindles and enjoying every small step we have taken ...
To me the greatest achievement has been to uncover the true potential of the machine without leaving the Amazon's design, by breaking down the barriers imposed.
I don't think that Jelly Bean is the goal to achieve for any android device if it implies losing the manufacturer's environmental benefits...I've been in CM10.1 and I definitely prefer Kinology, which includes all and many more advances from the last few months, while maintaining the benefits of Amazon OS.
I felt the original kindle needes a lot of help but this one is awesome with just root.

Maybe you should ask that question to Hashcode and Maromi who have spent countless hours unlocking the boot loader and developing the kernel which allows us GRATEFUL users to improve our Kindles. Just saying.

What I mean is, why hasn't development taken off for this tablet like tablets that are not up to the kfhd7s level?

A lot of the devs working on this device are multitasking with other projects too.I'm grateful to any one who has helped what little we have is pretty solid actually and I'm sure there will be more to come. With our screen, speakers, and hdmi out this is still a formidable device for the price range

MOTOROLA might GO DARK!!!

The Motorola website will be down for at least a month. Reason? Moto feels that they need to take a step back and reframe their company, brand, and devices.
There are is are date that haven't been confirmed on the site but if thus is true, then this is a big step for Motorola.

maybe one month of disappear will make a better moto.
nokia ang moto accompanied me many years, do not want to see them close down.......
hala nokia and moto!
In a perfect world they're having a 3 month, radio silent lock-in with the entire Android team at Google, and then they'll unveil a new line of native Moto Nexus devices, complete with factory unlocked BLs & open-source kernels pushed directly to CM, PA & AOKP. They'll make S4's look like StarTACs.
Maybe I'm setting my hopes too high. :]

They are moving to the Merchandise Mart next year. Thank god. I may still be working at Motorola if I didn't have to commute to Libertyville everyday.

I don't think it would be a bad area to live, but it wasn't what I wanted to do as a 20-something. The move to Chicago should be great for Motorola to attract better talent right out of college. Why would a top engineer choose Libertyville over the Bay Area or NYC? The only real reason is that it is a lower cost of living. I believe that is one of the biggest reasons for Motorola's recent troubles. They had a hard time attracting the right people.
They even saw this themselves. Back in 2004 (I think?), they opened MotoCityUSA downtown to try and attract better designers to try and make cool products to follow up the RAZR.
