[REQ] Convert file to Android Boot Animation? - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help converting a file so that I can use it as an Android boot animation? What I want to use is a .bs7 file that I have which is normally used as a Windows boot animation file, however I have no clue on how to make work on Android. Can anyone convert it for me or at the very least give me a link to site that could explain the process? Thanks.

[How To] Replace Shutdown Animation

..
..
Heres one I did. It's animated but it goes so fast you practically miss it anyway...
Couldn't get a gif preview up.
I got a few more I made but I wanted to share this one. A good universal shutdown sequence.
Also just for reference, it seems the png's can so far be anything under a png 24.
I love the Android Scribble boot animations that GLa'DOS put together here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696193
I decided to create an "un-scribble" shutdown animation which is basically his work in reverse. I had to cut several "frames" to get it down to 26 images but it looks pretty good. It's attached as Scribble_shutdown.zip.

Here is an i, robot shutdown sequence i made. I wish the picture was a little clear but it works.
Can i use the same animation for the Shotdown as for the Startsup?
I mean that both 26 png's
Would be nice to know that
Thank God for custom shutdown animations. Oh if anyone is looking for tutorial on how to do it check: http://www.phonebuff.com/2011/06/change-shutdown-animation-for-android/

The newest ROMs do not use this file format. They are utilizing the *.qmg files - not hackable. If you roll back to Froyo or Eclair you can use this type of shutdown.
I have a problem

[Q] Sprint Galaxy Tab boot animation?

I've done a few searchs to try and figure this out on my own, but I've been coming up short. I'm just trying to get a custom boot animation on my Sprint Tab. I'm comfortable removing the stock animation and audio. I can't, however, find anyway to add my own. I've tried renaming the custom animation to bootani.qmg with the stock one deleted out. When I boot up, though, it shows nothing still and boots up with no animation. Not asking for someone to reply with a written out guide, but a point in the right direction would be awesome.
Thanks!
Get your new bootanim (usually called bootanimation.zip butbif bit not, then rename it to that) then move it to system/media. Reboot and you should have been new boot anim
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA Premium App
That's the issue. Thought that's all I needed to do, but after trying that exact method repeatedly with different animations and bootanimation.zip files, it does not work for me.
I've tried renaming the file bootani.qmg, bootanimation.qmg, bootani.zip, and bootanimation.zip.
The .qmg is the sound file so you don't need that. What video format is your animation? It isn't just the name that has to be correct, its the format and file size too.
I would suggest using the DukeNukem boot file, since we know it works, to verify the process, then go make a custom file. And be sure to post back with your results!
That would make more sense. I just sorta assumed maybe it was searching for a file name and not finding it. Will try once more with the suggested boot animation and let ya know!
DukeNukem was also a no go. :/
I don't have a sprint tab, but the system folders and files sound the same as my at&t tab. What I did was create a folder and moved the boot animation.zip, and the .qmg files in there, then moved the duke animation into the system/media folder.

find and download that animation (if you have not already)
It should be called animation.zip, open it to see if it contains a folder or several folders and a txt file,
if it does you're good to go.
then using es file explorer or some file manager with root access, navigate to /system/media/
you'll see a boot animation.zip in there, rename it .bak or something else, then copy your animation.zip
there and set the permissions to rw-- r--- r---
reboot your tab and it should play.
I just changed my nook hd+ boot animation to the jellybean animated X.

MIUI boot animation

BTW. What are the best boot animations you know? Especially dedicated for MIUI.

i didnt try yet, but go to root folder in android with any root explorer (7zip for example) system-media-bootanimation.zip.
just copy to pc, edit the single pictures and put the single gif pics in there, maybe Photoshop?. just save the single pics. (didn't try it yet, or have a look here http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/change-android-boot-animation/)
I know how to make a boot animation. But I can't replace new boot animation with the old one. I have root and file explorer with root access but I still can't replace or remove anything from "/" folder.
Whatever. Tell me how to send any theme to MIUI Theme Market to make it possible to download by anyone.

Custom bootanimations?

Did anybody find a way to use zip files for boot animations rather than the qmg files?
I have tried replacing the "animation" file (located in /system/bin/) with many different files from different forums but still no luck. I always end up with no boot animation startup.
I even tried with the files (animation and bootanimation.zip) from treble Lineage GSI rom but still no luck (sigh)
If anyone knows a way please share your knowledge.
I believe this requires root so you can make the root directory read/write capable.

I appreciate your answer.
But what I'm looking for is a way to make native android boot animations work and not samsung proprietary ones. (the zip instead of qmg).
I went through posts like the ones you mentioned a hundred times while searching for what I needed.
I think no one has figured it out yet.
I wish I were a dev to knows how stuff works in coding world.

on samsung phones zip is just a flashable package that copies the animations(qmg) to the proper directory and sets permissions
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/bootanimations-best-collection-t3780219
not sure what devices these work on but its just zip file with 3 folders with .jpg in it creating each frame of the animation. theres a text cue file with resolution and fps info.
samsung animation are much more difficult to make( need special software )

The zip file you mentioned is for aosp and lineage roms (or any rom that supports native boot animation).
There used to be something called native boot animation enabler for samsung phones back in lollipop and marshmallow days for samsung stock firmwares. This made it possible to use zips like the ones you mentioned as boot animation instead of qmg. But nowadays I can't find any similar trick. I think samsung changed a lot of stuff making it impossible to enable them in oreo and pie.
