I have obtained the latest version (dated September 5th) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31187814&postcount=12
I have noticed a problem though: with the previous version (R75-v6) I was able to run the app outside US, using Market Enabler and selecting USA T-Mobile or USA AT&T. With this new version, the trick does not work: the app displays the usual message "Not yet available in your country".
Anybody experienced the same?
Do you think there is some new check in the app? (e.g. looking at the mobile operator ID)

I do believe that it has to do with the fact that address for billing being in the US.
I can confirm this works well on the Nexus S, and others seem to have gone around the country issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810282
Indeed I have used all the suggested guidelines and put US addresses so that everything worked, up to R75.
But the latest version (R79) may have changed something, so I was wondering if someone outside US has noticed any difference after updating the app from R75 to R79.
In my case the app does not start anymore (but reinstalling R75 fixed everything back again to normal).

Hello,
I am using aTrackDog and all works fine.
I just have the problem that it shows me sometime that there is an update for an installed app (e.g. "Finance" from Google - I have 1.0 & aTrackDog says there is 1.1 or Netcounter should be 0.7.1 or SnapPhoto 1.2.7 instead of 1.2.6) but when I go to this app at the Market there is no update available?!
What is going wrong here?
Any idea would be great, thanx in advance!
The problem with the way atrackdog works is that it relies on reports from G1 phones to update its database of apps and versions. Say an application developer releases a testing version of his app to a friend to give him feedback before publicly releasing it. If that friend uses atrackdog, then everyone else's copy of atrackdog will show there's an update available before it even hits the market.
Later versions of atrackdog allow application developers to flag applications as "testing versions" and they show up as green text in the app list. Still, not all devs participate in that part of atrackdog.
ok - I understand
Thank you for the explanation
Since updating to 1.5, is anyone elses atrackdog showing stock apps?? Mine is showing everything from googleapps to setup wizard & even the gmail app. I have set them to not check for newer versions, I was just curious if I am the only one. There's 16 stock apps all together in the list
@Beast84 ........ mine does the same, shows all the stock apps too! (Haykuro 1.5)

Not too big a deal. I was just curious if I was the only one
Can someone please explain why some apps..such as Pure Calendar Widget..arent available to me?...When I search for it or read the barcode for it I get no results?...though others seem to find them. Also Camera Zoom which is always recommended is a no go.
I have a TMO USA phone and buy other apps from the market.
thanks
What region are you in and what provider?
You could be locked out by these things -- if so check out market enabler.
Tmobile. United States.
There's some threads with manual configurations for Market Enable.. Search tool will make the trick... if not google knows everything ehehehhe
Well I am still not getting an answer to my question Why are only some paid apps available and some are not?
Is this the way it is for everyone?

Yes it is, depending on the regions, there are or not some application. This is why the purpose of the creation of the Market Enabler.
Some but not all
It is not as straight-forward as that. You can use market enabler and see some paid apps but not all of them show up (for me for example). I cannot see Pure Calendar Widget either although I can see and purchase tons and tons of other paid apps. If harsaphes is already on T-Mobile, they probably don't need Market Enabler to fake that they are on T-Mobile...
The difference may be something to do with "paid" apps vs. "paid and protected/drm" apps. I am not sure though. I have not found a definitive explanation to this problem nor a solution.
Would this also pretain to the amazon mp3 app which can not be installed with any market other than the US version on US android phones? Or is there a way to push this app in manual..?
I've read about some interesting apps, but I can't find them in the Android Market for some reason. A few people claim that these applications are available in the Market, but they just don't show up for me.
Some examples:
- ShareYourBoard
- BioWallet
- Pandora
- iSkoot
- beebPlayer
- Bluex
- Ecorio
- cab4me
- DoggCatcher
I've even tried to scan some QR codes in AndroLib.com, but I get an error saying that "There are no matches in Android Market for the search."
Does anyone know why that happens? I should mention that I live in Brazil (not sure this makes a difference) and that I use MoDaCo Custom ROM 2.9. Besides, the option "Unknown sources" is checked in my phone.
Thanks for the help,
Tiago
are the apps officially available in your country? did you try market enabler?
Some apps are not supported in all countries.
Example: BeebPlayer (stream bbc shows) is only available in the UK.
I Downloaded Beebplayer from an apps pack, it told me it was only available for people inside the UK.
Also if you search for some apps, like Beebplayer the marketplace app shows something like "1 result found" but shows nothing except for the usual "did you type the name correctly blabla."
Hope this helps,, I experienced the same thing, it gets really annoying but nothing you can do. maybe work with a proxy or something but since I'm not a developer I can't help you with that.
Regards,
DaanJordaan
Have you applied the MR update? This update has caused some apps to not show up in the market.
I used Market Enabler and it worked only 1 time. When I rebooted my phone then I had to reapply the "patch" from Market Enablen and when I got to the market nothing worked like it should.
I mean that Market Enabler didn't worked the second time I tried to fake my market.
Yeah, us Sprint folks are totally ****ed. THe new update, as awesome as it is, makes it so we can't see stuff like twidroid pro.

you are not alone
kendong2,
Market Enabler helped a lot! Using the setting for T-Mobile, I was able to find the following apps: Pandora, iSkoot, Bluex, cab4me and DoggCatcher. Pandora doesn't work in Brazil, but that's a different problem. Restarting the phone restores the old settings, but I can always use Market Enabler again.
However, I still can't find ShareYourBoard, BioWallet, beebPlayer, Ecorio and AndNav2. According to DaanJordaan, beebPlayer will not work in Brazil, but I'd still like to install the other apps. Has anyone managed to install these apps? Any tips?
I'm not sure I have the MR update. As I said, I installed MoDaCo Custom ROM 2.9 and didn't apply any other updates after that.
Thanks a lot,
Tiago

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?
The market is impressive but I would ( I know I'm not alone here ) love to have access the whole market.
I have a rooted sprint hero, stock ROM with the update.
Same issue here too.
Any of the big name stuff like shopsavvey, compare everywhere, facebook amazon and the rest is not showing.
Hello i have the same problem with modaco 3.0. "MR" update is that short for modaco ROM ? And people using market enabler should remember to clear market cache under settings - applications - market
I'm running eVil D's NXSense ROM on my N1 and I've noticed that some applications are missing from the Android Market.
The ones I've found so far are:
- Moviefone (com.aol.mobile.moviefone)
- FCC Mobile Broadband Test (com.ookla.fccbroadband)
- Slacker Radio (com.slacker.radio)
- Parcels (eu.zomtec.android.delivery)
Any ideas why I wouldn't be able to access these applications?
were you able to get them earlier from your region or not? The applications might not be available in your current location- if its that you can try MarketEnabler app to sort it out!
I'm not sure as I hadn't tried to installing them until after I had installed NXSense.
My phone is configured for US as far as I know.
I'll try MarketEnabler and see how it goes
Looks like that was the problem. I forgot that I'm currently using an Australian SIM so the apps weren't visible. As soon as I changed the phone to use T-Mobile US, the missing apps appeared.
This is because the method worked on Chinese version failed. And the key issue is some government apps require GMS or otherwise it simply say cannot run.
As GMS is so necessary, so can we do one step back? That is to install something (I don' mind what the are) and then let those apps thought GMS is there and continue to run. Is it possible? I don't mind login of google account.
VMOS method has been tried and has some support of those apps, but is there any non virtual machine method? Anyone knows?
Does the bank app work under vmos? E.g. Amex UK or Natwest bank?
Probably not.
I receive security warning, apps don't work (in Romania).

Try using Duel Space method
Tried the apps named Dual Space. However, very few apps can work (e.g. My M1 - operator apps works) and most of other apps remains not working.
wow, threadstarter from Singapore
What is your firmware version by the way ?
