When you boot Nexus 7, press the power+volume up, you will access to APX mode.
And the Nexus 7 will stay in Black Screen.

nvflash presumably should just work, try it? I'd assume this is a protocol that's not changing.
That said, I'd personally rather use fastboot to do stuff like flash recovery, etc. nvflash is a pain in the ass IMO.
Yeah, but nvflash is supposed to be able to do something fastboot can't: recovery / unbrick from a shredded bootloader.
Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879228
We're already discussing it and looking into it.

Hey guys,

Unknown device found.
That's it... I can't do nothing more. I've tried both - windows and linux version of nvflash and both returns same message.
When I run 'lsusb' command from linus i see my nexus 7 as 0955:7330 Nvidia Corp. device.

I checked Recovery mode and Download mode, and thats OK.
But i found information on Internet, and always the same: VOL UP/DOWN + HOME + POWER.
In some sites, somethind about Forced Upload (i've got one time only and i dont remember how it was.
The question: i called to technical support and asked for the way to get into fastboot mode, and the replay was the information is properly for samsung personal.
Then, i was tyred and bored.
Could anybody help me?
NOTE:
I know that download mode is enaugh, but booting directly from a recovery file in PC is good and quick, and flashing the recovery boot only.
Hey
Just played around with my Galaxy S and could retrieve the way to get into
Forced upload
I pressed Volume up and home until the black and whie Galaxy S boot Screen came
up and then right away volume up+home+powerbutton at the same time.
Hope it works for you as well and hope I remembered it correct because I am feeling
realy dizzy today paired with headaches :/
Is the forced upload mode same as fastboot? Because I am trying to install an other bootscreen as the
one from samsung is not my thing.
I have two phone, one with working 3 button hack, another one without recovery mode with 3 buttons.
on the later device i alway get the "forced upload" (whatever this is) while pressing home and vol up for 3 or more seconds when phone is of.
on the othe device (wirkoing three button mode) i did not manage to see "forced upload"

Doesn't this app solve the broken three button recovery problem?
Thats the thing i referred it. All people with Galaxy S work with REcovery and Download odes.
But anybody knows how the FastBoot Mode works in i9000, and it very important taking a native mode to change the Recovery Boot without flashing with ODIN or Rom Maneger utility (free at the moment).
I understand FAST BOOT is something in relation with android, but ¿is it posible that it need an especial recovery boot, like an intermediate, for passsing throw to FastBoot mode?

when you are bricked, how are you going to run a software on a dead phone?
the phone needs to be rooted for quick boot to work
if you do it via ADB when connected to PC
then you don't need to be rooted

I explained more better.
If phone is bricked, it doesnt boots.
Then, ADB is worthy. For that reason, only two chioces:
1) FLASH with ODIN, if it posible with download mode
2) Samsung with JTAG ---> money!!!!
2) FastBoot Mode.
That is very important, and thats my interest
if the phone is bricked
only the 3 button Download Mode will work
JTAG, not many places have it, it's hard to find, the phone is still too new.
Fastboot mode will not work when bricked
ADB will not work when bricked

AllGamer, I think you should look up what fastboot actually is/does.
It's a way to flash the phone from a 3button style download mode. The thing is, you can use ADB from windows/Mac/Linux to flash it. (Yes, even when bricked, because you enter it with a different 3button combo)
All HTC Phones have the ability, as well as the Original Samsung Galaxy I7500 and I5700 phones.
People are on here wondering if there's a way to enable the function on the Galaxy S.
Responding in a thread where you have no idea what the topic at hand actually is just makes the thread harder to follow. Please refrain in the future.
Yes, i think FASTBOOT is another backdoor to revover the phone.
And, another advantage:
1) substituting the revovery boot partition (throw native flashing 3button mode) or
2) boot from PC with one recovery image without writing the recovery partion, making diagnostic and everyting like testing news images.
It is very important, and many people will be wondered to know this 3button mode.
Samsung, by call, admited to know the mode, but they dont wanto to say how to get in mode fastboot.
I'll continue to find it.
AllGamer:
How, then, do you overwrite the boot partition? With ADB? Then you need unbricked phone .....

Did samsung actualy make the phone and not just designed it? Ie the sony xperia x1 was a htc made phone but sony design. So maybe that's why u had fastboot in the 7500. Either way i have no idea on samsung phones as i never liked them

if the so call fastboot is actuall another hardware mode, and not the fastboot from ADB shell, then it'll have to be some sort of buttons to trigger it.
I know people that have posted they got into a Forced Upload mode, is that what you guys mean by fastboot mode?
However only people with the disabled 3 buttons download modes seems to have been able to get into this Forced Upload mode, problem is none of them knows exactly how they got into that mode

It IS fastboot from ADB.
You basically put the phone in fastboot mode (similar to 3 button download mode). You can then flash your phone (with the phone in fastboot mode[not booted into android]) with the fastboot command in the Android SDK Tools folder.
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" would flash a new recovery image to the phone, or "fastboot flash boot boot.img" would flash a new boot image to the phone.
All this can be done by entering a 3button combo to power on the phone directly into fastboot mode. (Android not required to boot, or even be functioning)
I tried to install the twrp but something went wrong and I need support :crying:
If I boot normally the watch, it goes directly to the TWRP
Rebooting to system brings back the TWRP
If I select the bootloder, it goes back to the Android Wear bootloader but from there both the start and recovery mode brings back the TWRP.
As I cannot access to the debug options, I cannot connect from my PC anymore and therefore I cannot use any of the suggestions I found in the forum.
But I can enter in "Download mode": now Windows sees an "LGE Android Phone" with a yellow triangle + an exlamation mark. The driver is missing.
I found a guide about the LG Flash Tool, but I would need a "TOT" file (extension kdz).
Anybody can help ?
Many thanks in advance.
Sounds like you may have flashed twrp to the system partition. Can you get into bootloader mode by swiping from 11 to 5 when the watch is displaying the LG logo at boot?
If you can you can flash the system and boot images found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-watch-r/development/rom-stock-rooted-5-0-2-t3035509

The problem is that the debug mode is off and therefore I cannot use any adb or fastboot command: the PC does not see the Watch.
But I can enter in download mode: If I could copy the required files then it should be possible to recover it!
Edit: GOOD NEWS!!!
After many reboot and tests ... finally fastboot detected the watch again!
Now I was able to restore the images from the link you send me !!
Still is a question how to use the download mode
I have never been able to use download mode and as far as I know, no one else has either. I don't think fastboot requires debugging to be enabled any how. Glad you got sorted buddy.

I doubt that you needed to use that fix. That fix is for the downgraded bootloader brick. I suspect you were only in soft brick. Was it bootlooping?
Hold power and volume down to enter bootloader. Do or did you have TWRP installed?

DO you have SDK manager installed on your computer and your phone's manufacturer Drivers? If not install SDK Manager here.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#top Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select SDK tools only, you will see the link for windows.
After you've installed this and the drivers from the manufacturer go into SDK you just installed and install "Google USB Driver".
From there open a command prompt, plug your phone into the computer and type "adb reboot bootloader" without the quotation marks and that will get you into bootloader. you can also type "adb reboot recovery" without the quotes.
ANother way is to go to Titanium backup, hit menu, scroll down to reboot to recovery. One of those should work.
Hi, so my phone's LCD and glass are broken and there is no display nor is touch working but the phone is on. I don't want to spend any money on it for replacing the LCD. 2. How to reset the phone completely if i want to sell it to someone?
Any help would be highly appreciated on this matter...

Maybe if you have it connected to the device the Android device manager. I disable it myself so can't say for sure. Other then that. No you are not gonna be able to. I really would just replace the screen. Not only will you learn something but you will be able to get all your stuff as well as the sale value will be higher.

ok so i've downloaded a fastboot compilation and i need to use fastbook device to check if nexus 6 is in fastboot mode and fastboot -w to wipe. I tried turning my phone off but i think it doesnt turn off until you press the power off button on the screen, even if you hold the power button longer. so ill let my phone fully discharge so it turns off and then charge it a bit while its off and then try to turn it on in fastboot mode by pressing volume down and power and then enter the commands. seems right?

Yup, if you plug the phone into PC before booting into fastboot, hold vol- then hit power button, while in your fastboot directory on PC, hold shift and right click mouse button, then click open command prompt from here. Then type: fastboot devices this will then tell you on PC if phone is connected and ready to receive commands. If it returns your phones serial number then proceed with the commands
If you hold power button to reboot phone, as soon as phone vibrates hold the vol- key and it should put you into fastboot mode

can't seem to boot in fastboot mode. My PC recognizes nexus 6 when its connected in normal mode so i know when its normally on. So i tried holding the power down button for 10 seconds or so and then tried holding the volume down button for several seconds and then connected it to PC but fastboot didn't recognize it neither my PC in general but after a while nexus 6 showed up on my PC which probably meant it rebooted normally without going into fastboot mode. any tips?

Hello, I have a huge problem with my XIAOMI MI9 EXPLORER EDITION The system of my phone is totally destroyed and all what I can do is bring it in the FASTBOOT mode. A friend who know a lot did over TeamViewer some work. He try to FLASH the phone , but the UNLOOK TOOL don't recognize the phone. He told me the only possibility would be open the phone and bringing it like this in the EDL MODE. The phone is like brand new and I would like to search another possibility for fixing it. Right now I am in KUWAIT lo for the Corona Virus. I would welcome each kind of help.
Yeah, the only way to flash MIUI again would be to get the phone into EDL Mode and from what I have tried the only way to do this is by taking the phone apart and bridge the pins. What happens when you hold volume up and power and boot to system?
