[Q] Network operator selection
I've recently flashed Cyanogen Mod 9 on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001 and I'm wondering what operator I should choose for my carrier in the Network Operators settings. My carrier is Virgin Mobile UK which uses the Everything Everywhere network and if I choose the auto select option it will change the operator to Orange. Should I leave the operator settings as Orange or will they charge me roaming costs for using their network?

I installed the "AT&T TILT AKU.0.7.0 Cooked ROM Clean+BigStorage" and noticed in the phone settings it is set to AT&T without a choice for selecting networks. When I go to JAPAN will it automaticly find the correct network for international roaming in JAPAN if I call AT&T to set up the international roaming service.
Hi,
I've just got a hold of a HTC Pure and have unlocked it and put a 3 mobile (Australia) sim into it.
The problem is that it doesn't seem to recognise the 3 mobile network? When I go to Network settings it says the following:
Current Network: 3
But if I search for available Networks it only shows Vodafone AU, Telstra, and YES OPTUS... no 3 mobile network?
On the home page of TouchFlo 3D it says '3' in the service bar as well (it never says roaming) however if I go to the marketplace (for e.g.) it will say that it has detected that I am roaming (and gives me the warning that I may incur additional charges).
Cheers
this may be due to the fact your using a us marketplace and it sees you in the AU and it does not know any better .
This is a small issue but is anyone using ICS with a MVNO? I have a Virgin mobile SIM which uses the Everything Everywhere network in the UK (Orange/T-Mobile).
When the phone is using the orange network the notification drawer correctly displays this, but when on the T-Mobile network 'No service' is displayed.

Since you managed to flash ICS on your device I suppose you're comfortable doing some more hacking
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12693880&postcount=5
Maybe look at the file first and check if your provider is the one mentioned in the Finland section.
We are now in build 13 and we still get that roaming icon if we are using a MVNO
this method didn't work for me
I have the same problem with spanish Yoigo
Teamhacksung ICS MVNO roaming problem
same problem on build 16
HELP please !!
anything new about MVNO support? on my galaxy nexus in ics MVNO works without a hack, it`s not treated like a roaming network. somewhere in the process of porting to I9000 this stock ics behavior got lost. would be nice to have a better solution then switching data off in frontier areas.
HI
I have a UK t-mobile galaxy note. T-mobile allows you to roam on to Orange. I have NO t-mobile signal at home so I used to set my note to orange manually and it would stay on orange. Now due to the way T-mobile are roaming the phone does not recognise the raom between t-mobile and orange meaning it will roam between these networks no matter what setting I change!
Is there a way or an app to force the phone to use orange and not roam ?
TIA
John
Hello everyone,
My friend brought me a Galaxy Note 8 from Korea (SM-N950N) and I'm facing some issues using it in Brazil.
1) My carrier - VIVO - used to work with 4G conection in this very same SIM Card. However, I got only 3G with my Note 8.
Importante info: the seller had the phone carrier-unlocked before selling it. This phone was not new from the box. Someone had used with Korean carrier.
2) Is there a way to know if I'm using any different ROM from stock?
Should I root and flash any other ROM for local use in Brazil?
Any guidance is of great help!
Thank you very much.
You would have to check that your Service Provider uses the same LTE bands that is support on the N950N. As not all LTE bands are support for use on the N950N.
According to frequencycheck.com at this link the SM-N950N should support all the 4G bands. Did you make sure and enter the correct APN settings in Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names? Do you have LTE/3G/2G (auto connect) selected in Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks? You should check those settings first.
