ROM OPTIMIZATION GUIDE
This is all abt how to get the most of UI - One MIUI PUREVIEW ROM "
After being 3 days on miui, I had tried out various things to make ROM smoother n better. Some worked while some not. So instead of providing a new build (to avoid all the hassles of downloading and flashing),I present a guide to make your existing MIUI better and the best part is that you can choose what suits you . If you are reading this then I assume that you have already flashed the ROM
1. Flash this kernel :- https://www.box.com/shared/c6onbo1m6w56twxa18ty
I found it to be the most balanced kernel in terms of performance in battery life, v2.5.6 of DJNoxD is draining a lot of juice
2. Disable icon shadow & high resolution graphics in launcher settings for butter smooth scrolling
3. Feel like you might get haunted with Brightness Bug!! Well i couldn't solve it as of now but those who are conscious enough not to move slider to the least, its well and good but those who are not, just dont worry, i have got a script for you
-> Download Script here and place it on root directory of sd card.
-> Download Script Manager
-> Set it to execute this script on boot and give su permission to the script by clicking on boot & SU icons above (don't forget to enable root permission in the first dialog box which appears on starting the app)
What this script does is, on execution sets the brightness value to 100 (max brightness is 255)
So if u ever fall in a condition that you reduce the brightness to minimum and get a complete black out, just pull out the battery and restart the phone and brightness will get set to 100 after 1-2 minutes of boot.
4. Stuck on HDPI lockscreen with no way to unlock!!, just hold down back button and press volume + key for emergency unlock
5. Recommended Apps:-
-> Music:- Jet Audio
-> Video:- MX Video Player
-> Gallery:- Quickpic
-> Camera:- Camera Zoom FX
MDPI LOCKSCREENS :- forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428940
HUGE MIUI THEME COLLECTION :- www.modaco.com/topic/340719-miui-themes-collection-closed/
FACING ISSUE LIKE THIS!!
Here's a guide to fix it
1. Get the .mtz file of the theme u r facing the issue and rename the extension to .zip instead of .mtz and unzip the renamed zip file.
2. Here u will find com.android.systemui without any extension. Add .zip extension to it and extract it.
3. In the extracted folder find statusbar_background.9.png. You will see no status bar image in it if you open it with image viewer.
4. This folder will have another file with name like status bar background having image of status bar that you see while on home screen.
5. Create copy of image found in step 4 and rename it to the name of the file found in step 3.
6. Replaced the file of step 3 with renamed file of step 5
7. Now zip back the whole contents of the com.android.systemui and remove zip extension
8. Place this in the extracted folder you got in step 1 and zip all the contents, then replace .zip extension with .mtz
9. Place this in miui theme folder and apply
THEME IN SCREENIES BELOW :-
http://www.mediafire.com/?ltw8x11mos1d76y
HOW TO USE:-
Place the mtz file in sdcard/MIUI/ theme folder and select the theme from theme chooser

thats a heck of work, decompile framework and system ui and translate each n every string, so developer and porters depend on English more or less to avoid hassle..
Just back from work & wtf Fundooz is back Currently i m hoping from MIUI v4 roms when Zack released his 1st build then Kaio Ken vice versa whichever seemed to be good enough for the moment..as i have used your MIUI GB & v4 rom earlier(i guess u know) they are promising..now i have two main concerns ie, battery & stability without any fatal bugs bcoz dont get enough time to experiment I wish this rom will rock..definitely flash after seeing some reviews..btw will the MIUI v4 themes work on this(i guess NO ) Does this based on the latest CM7 nightly??&& do mention the dates in the changelogs in future..ALL D BEST

Good work!! Will stay tuned for future releases. Good luck.
Hi,
Tnx for the Good job.
Question: Does it support Persian [Farsi] language by default?
If not, any idea how can I bring it to my phone?
another question... (important one )
does this rom improve battery performance?
I've been using juffo ROM for a while and what I saw was Farsi support with a bunch of letters missed from alphabet.
another issue also I had with Stock firmware and also juffo Rom :
Android OS battery usage : 54%
Display usage : 15%
the rest of stuff each below : 10%
Well this is awkward. even I was playing NFS for a long time just 8% but android OS always > 50%

the android OS battery usage is more like a bug, i am not sure which method i used to get rid of that.
basically i followed one of the thread in xda, saying that from CWM, must do factory wipe and cache wipe, maybe dalvik too. but i've also uninstalled most of the default samsung apps, like all HUB apps.
So i am not sure which solution actually work here in this case. but right now android os usage is only 5% for me after one whole day
refer here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079136
i have juffo's rom installed, do i need a full wipe (cache + data/factory reset+ dalvik wipe ) ?

I am just sharing some of these mods for the MIUI users on my, and others MIUI roms. All credit goes to the makers:
Andy Thomson
Roenano
MrIT
The first, and most popular mod is the Extended Settings Mod by Andy Thomson. It gives you the:

Option to select a custom colour for the clock
Option to Hide/Unhide Battery Icon
Option to select a custom colour for the top-bar battery
Option to select a custom colour for the carrier
Option to Hide/Unhide Carrier
Option to specify your own custom carrier text
Option to replace carrier text with a logo.
Option to specify pull-down date/time format. (see below for examples)
Option to specify lockscreen date/time format. (see below for examples)
Option to change Overscrolling.
Option to Enable/Disable an App Drawer.
Option to choose a solid wallpaper in the colour of your choice.
Option to choose a colour and adjust the transparency of the statusbar
As well as the above. If you go to Launcher Settings you will have the following options..
Option to enable/disable Wallpaper scrolling
Option to enable/disable Auto close folders.
Option to show/hide icon labels.
There are the reboot mods by roenano which allow you to reboot:
1. Normally
2. Hot Reboot (Restarts the OS)
3. Reboot directly to the bootloader (Fastboot)
4. Reboot directly to recovery
The third mod allows you to skip tracks via the volume buttons and is also by Andy Thomas:
While the phone's screen is off and Music is playing, long pressing the Volume Buttons will skip tracks either forward or backwards. While the phone's screen is off and No Music is playing. Short presses will adjust the Volume.
When the screen is on (even if the phone is locked) the volume buttons control the volume as normal.
How to Install:
1. Reboot into recovery.
2. Go to mounts and storage and mount /system
3. choose "install zip from sdcard"
4. choose "choose zip from sdcard"
5. locate your file
6. confirm "YES - install "
7. wait for script to finish
8. reboot phone
Download links:
http://android.gcfam.net/devs/andy/ - The link to the latest version of the skip track via volume buttons and extended settings are there.

Yep Everything works except the default FM radio and wifi hotspots
Seems like this is the closest to perfect custom ROM. Only video is left for HDMI and that's why I stick to stock-based ROMs for now (I watch movies on the TV quite often).
Were you able to go to the radio and hdmi???
YOU ARE A GREAT!!
What apk you tips for FM radio?

Aye, Zdhizu did also link a HDMI enabler with Video but is buggy as he said. Hope we can get this fixed soon for CM and MIUI roms.
And the landscape problem isn't there as far as I can tell. I am using swiftkey x as a keyboard and usually type in potrait anyway but Ill report back with stock keyboard
Will release multi-language packs asap, just ported this rom early today so sorry, but will do it asap
What about battery?
Battery life is pretty good, with Jason Steins battery efficient kernel I get the same battery life as DoomKernel v18. Lasts me a whole day without having to worry about battery dieing.
The zip file of the ROM contains a "boot.img" to remove
Not work!

Bades On zeubea's CM9 Beta5
( This ROM is made by quite only zeubea's untouched stuff. Please Thank him before me )
Based on GSII Paranoid Android 1.5a
( Only Framework and Apps. You'll find some useless GSII options. I'll use other ROMs in future )
Based on Paranoid Android
This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a usefull addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

- Make a backup with the app included of the layout when you first boot. If you get some trouble, you'll always be able to reset that
- First Boot will take a while, ROM is deodexed.
- Note that on First Boot everything will look like zeubea's CM9. This is for easier start. You'll have to customize your own DPIs and layouts in Settings > Paranoid Settings.

- "Authentication Error" when connecting to WPA2 networks ( not everyone has this problem ) ( Thanks to alomsong )
- Stock Phone.apk crashes when making/reciving a call. Go to Add-On or Post 28 to download feed3's edited Phone.apk. Then replace old apk with the edited ( follow ehmad's instructions at Post 39 )
- "Tablet Mode (Small)" on first load will set DPI for settings lower than 100. Settings will FC. Be careful when applying ( be ready to put hands on pad.prop ) or use "Tablet Mode (Optimized)".
- "Tablet Mode (Optimized)" on first boot will give troubles in unlocking ( flip horizontal, open camera, flip vertical, press home ). You can solve this changing framework-res DPI to 120/110/100. Also change SystemUI DPI to 110 and everything will look like "Tablet Mode (Small)".

Well, thanks. If you need any info about this build to work on in please mail/pm me, I'll tell you all I can (mail address should be in my profile. If it is not, you can check my G+ profile, I should have it linked to my xda account). But I think that for a more stable ROM it must be rebuilt from zero using another HTC's PA ROM.
Ah I really need beta testers. Anyone can be, just tell me. I'll link to your post in first post and you'll edit your post adding what does not work many thanks

I have already flashed your rom, i will let you know if there are any problem.
1.When my phone connected to computer, it was nothing on status bar, just like the pic below.
2.It seems common problem in CM9 ROM, it cannot connected to WPA2.
Thanks, updated "Troubles".
You can't activate USB mass storage, but ADB works. And if you want to access your files with an user interface, you can use QtABD.
I have no issues with WPA2, I have no idea what could be the problem... Can you get a log? ( QtADB does also that )

Use phone.apk from my thread in apps section. Can confirm the same issue with me as well and can confirm the workaround is really work, just make sure to reboot after replacing the file.

Why its unusable? Thanks for accepted me as a tester. I'll do my best.
Ok here it is my first look at this rom:
Wiped all the cache/data+dalvik then i proceed to flash the rom, once it was done i've flash the Gaps zip. First boot took like 2 minutes (i guess it would be more but fine) Once got in the launcher, i've followed the wizard. Nice smoothness, nice response.
The only issue that I found is i got the same problem that i had when i flashed the zeubea's CM9 to my legend, it was that the home/search/back and menu buttons didn't light up. What will be causing this because it doesn't happend when flashed another rom, just when using ICS? And how can i got the masstorage option appear on the status bar?
I've flashed again and everthing seems to be ok, if any issue arise (despite my un-lighted menu -.- ) i'll let you know, by now everthing is Ok.
** As i don't have HTC Legend anymore, i won't be able to port and share any ROM for Legend anymore. So, anyone are welcome to kang, modified, enhance or whatever you like to this ROM. Just make sure you give appropriate credits ESPECIALLY to the creator of ROM based that i ported over. Best Regards. **
About
As some of you know, several few days ago, i have put an efforts to port Miuiv4 to our device. I'm not a developer, just doing some simple mods but i'm dying to see miuiv4 to run in our device and to see how other device that have similiar hardwares with our legend have motivate me. Now, i have fixed most of the issue and given permissions to share it with you all.
I have put the links to ROM that i take as base so please go there and hit thanks to the respective devs to show our appreciation to their hardwork.
I appreaciate any suggestions but requests are not welcome at all.. I do it for you for free..

Anyone that want to use miui gallery, it is not perfectly scalled for dpi i set. You might want to try to set dpi to 132, can confirm it is better at that dpi. or use cm stock gallery. When i come back from leave, i will attach the apk.

Did you wipe data before install? I can confirm it is working fine with me. Try clear data for play store and google services framework.
If you didnt like the custom dpi, how if i create one with normal dpi and normal play store. Anyone want it?

INSTRUCTIONS AND DOWNLOADS
The first thing I recommend you to do is to preform a nandroid backup (it's optional, but highly recommendable).
Secondly, if you want a clean install, get the XXMA3 Stock Firmware from HERE. This is a stock firmware package ready to be flashed through Odin and it's the one I've used as base. I've downloaded it from SamMobile and then created it using SplitFUS2.
Don't know how to use Odin? Click HERE!
Relevant downloads:
Download ClockWorkMod Recovery (if you don't have it already). Don't know where to download it? Just search for Millan.SIS CWM (for example)
Download TransfROMers_V1_2.zip (Please don't make any mirrors...)
Optional downloads:
Download and extract Rings_Notif_Alarms.rar -> OPTIONAL! Not needed for the ROM to work. These are just some custom ringtones, notifications and alarms arranged by me.
Download and extract Original Sounds.rar -> OPTIONAL! Only if you want the original stock sounds (in case you don't enjoy the ones included with the ROM).
Download and extract APK.rar -> OPTIONAL! These are just some cool apps that I use (specially Noozy Player).
Enough downloading, let's get started:
Place the downloaded zip file (and optional extracted folders) on your SD Card's root.
Turn off the phone
Access stock Recovery (Turn on the phone with this Key combo -> Long press Home+Volume up+Power Button)
Choose Wipe DATA
Choose Wipe CACHE
Choose Apply Update from SD card
Choose CWM -> you will boot into CWM Recovery
Wipe DATA and CACHE again via CWM
Go to Advanced
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe Battery Stats (only if your Battery is full, otherwise, don't do it)
Press Back Button
Choose Install zip From SDCARD
Choose zip From SDCARD
Select -> TransfROMers_V1_2.zip
Choose “yes...."
Wait for the Rom's installation to finish
Press Back Button and choose "Reboot"
DONE!
To enable OTA Updates, please click the link to Version 1.3 and follow instructions.

NOTES
Since I didn't include kuro's data2sd script, I recommend you to use Links2SD in order to minimize the phone's storage. Don't know how to use it? Just click HERE.
Deadly's compact kernel has "THE" brightness bug. In order to fix that, just access CPU control and set the Freq. min clock to 312Mhz. For more information about this, click HERE.
Don't forget to enable all windows animations.

Finally you made it! :highfive:
it looks cool. I want to flash it..
Thank you!
Thanks people.
I really appreciate all of your replies. Thought no one would give a damn about this, you know, since there are a lot of other cool ROM's out there.
Give me your feedback as well as your suggestions. I'll try to update all that's possible to turn this humble ROM into a better one.
Things I still want to accomplish:
1 - Remove the status bar from the lock screen
2 - Move the all apps/home icon to the dock's center
3 - Your suggestions...
By the way, don't ignore the optional downloads...
Hasta!

No swipe to remove.
Dialer tabs needs theming...
Settings.apk is missing some theming....
Popups needs theming....
Some of system sounds are making me sick.....
Overall good work! :good:

We are using different build of that kernel....
These sounds are too loud for late night....
One more thing - no init.d folder in /etc.... Is init.d supported?
Apps in launcher are in some random order for me...
I got only 4 icons on my launcher's dock.....
Sent from my GT-S6102 using Tapatalk 2
Yes init.d is supported (the kernel supports it).
The folder doesn't exist simply because I didn't add any script. But anyone is able to add they're favorite scripts.
You may ask why I didn't add any script...that's simple, because I didn't felt the need to.
