First time making a thread, go easy!
I have nothing better to do, so play along with me. My birthday is Monday, so consider participating as a birthday present to me
Put your music player on shuffle. Post the first two to five songs that play. Tell us how the song makes you feel. Tell us who the song makes you think about. Simple.
I'll start:
1. Murda Bizness Artist: Iggy Azelea Feat, T.I.
Makes me feel like doing some damage
No one in particular
2. Marvin's Room Artist: JoJo (a lot of artists have recorded their version of this song...I happen to love this one.
This song, quite frankly, makes me smile
My exes
3. Butterflies Artist: Marsha Ambrosius (written by her, Michael Jackson heard the demo and wanted to make the song. I love both versions)
This song makes me want to be in love.
Anyone that I have said I love you to, that's not related to me.
4. Little Boxes Artist: Melvina Reynolds
This is my jam! I sing this when I'm just veggin' out.
I love WEEDS, the HBO series. (I'm so Nancy) I know the song is a social conscious message, but it is the theme song for the show. This season different artists cover the song. :good:
5: Hotel California Artist: The Eagles
Makes me feel like I was born too late!
My kids. They actually like this song and sing it. Makes mommy proud. They are well rounded in their music selections, so I did something right.:highfive:
All my music in my playlist... is me...
lol... I don't really put other music on here but mine so it's ready on the fly for people who haven't heard it...
Sent from the best iPhone YET!!
"The Galaxy Nexus"
Thank you, Darling for responding. I can respect that. I have to check out your music. I'm always looking for new sounds. My music taste is so diverse. My list above doesn't reflect that, but my collection is out of control for sure. Again, thank you for replying.

I heard someone tell me is was great, but I haven't downloaded it yet. Stay tuned...
Well being a UK kid @ the time Brit Pop was the bomb and Blur was one of the best then Gorillaz for the Hip-Hop culture is also the definitive of crossover.
Very similar to the other 2 albums beatz laden\Synth Strings with US rappers\The classics.
If you wanna check out another couple albums check Dan The Automator - Wanna Buy A Monkey as he's Gorillaz and Handsome Boy Modeling School
Here's some links on it:
Video for "Stylo," featuring Bruce Willis.Video for "Stylo," featuring Bruce Willis.
And well, I had a stream link, but it's no longer up. Still haven't given it a listen, though.
I liked "Stylo," and the video for it was pretty cool, too.
I watched the stylo video yesterday and another new song by them and I have to say that they songs suck (but the Bruce Willis video was creative).
I dont think the songs have got the same feel to them as the last album.

what would you class as real music?
Rock for one example, that has a great musical compound and words that mean something.
I just listened to what you posted and it just sounds like a badly scratched trance CD. What the hell are kids these days listening to.
Also I read this some time ago: http://goo.gl/j3YcQ

That's you favorite music. This thread is about dubstep
and i'm making it into why is sucks.
Wow, random. I just started listening to Rusko a couple days ago. My first taste of dubstep and I have to admit, its pretty fun to blast.
check out Woo Boost and Hold On and Hold On Remix (a little more dubsteppy)
(sorry can't figure out how to embed youtube videos )
P.S. I really don't like it when people put down other people's taste in music. If it's not for you, it's not for you, but who are you to say what "real" music is

i listen to rock as well, thin lizzy, acdc, white snake, lynyrd skynyrd stuff lik tht, not really into any modern rock. i vary my tastes tho, and that youtube song i put up b4 is supposed to be like that, all glitchy n sounding lik a scratched cd lol but it in no way sounds like trance lol. most music sounds the same anyways, they all have a rythmic beat, a bass note on the third and a lead, chorus and beat down.

and you cant really base your musical tastes on an article that someone else wrote? if you need someone else to tell you if a certain song or genre is good or bad music then you might as well not listen to music at all.

one thing that really annoys me is when people say "it has no words! its not proper music"
well i dont see anyone complaining about classical lol since when did mozart and beethoven sing in their compositions.
I wasn't basing my opinion on that article, it just so happens that I agree with it.

that article is a load of crap, it says you need no musical talent :s im pretty sure it does, ive been producing music for a while now and its easily as hard as playing an instrument, i also play the guitar so i can talk from both sides of the argument. it isnt easy to do what a sound engineer would do to your track but from your bedroom. i also had to learn the piano so that i could work on my midi keyboard with chord progressions etc, it takes years and years of fiddling round on the computer and learning chords and scales before you can even make a half decent track.
Oh! I thought all music can be your favorite
Perhaps I´ll start a thread for Jazz music then

addicted to base, all of them.. The sound of dubstep by MOS, wheres my money, bonkers, Sincore, Cruel Intentions, Raindrops
also Sierra Leone- by MT Eden
Flux- hold me close
When I look at you- Emalkay
and others.. but listen to grime, death metal, classic rock etc....
In December I set out to make a track using just my 1985 vintage Roland JX8P synthesizer and Roland TR707 drum machine. Because of the nature of the synth (the JX8P is monotimbral - it can only play one sound at one time) I had to record each part separately and multi-track it. The result was a spacey italodisco tune some of you may have listened to on another thread. Anyway, Matt loved the tune wrote the first verse and part of the chorus and we recorded it just in time for Christmas break. Although I'd been listening to it a lot, only this week did I get around to juggling the arrangement and Matt spent the last few days completing the vocal. We are quite pleased with the overall result.
Hope you like it.

As you may notice that as this is totally synth track, we are going to have to be quite creative to fit this in a live set with guitar etc. Watch this space.
I like it!
It reminded me my old years dancing new wave stuff
Kinda 1st albums of human league and soft cell and depeche mode!
Congrats!
Thanks duder. Glad you like it. I am pretty pleased with it. Need to play it loud!
So yo, hello!
All you musicians here, how's it going?
Just a thread for those musically inclined, trained, hobby'd or interested to share their thoughts on music creation and anything related...
While I'm here, anyone keen on an Internets band?
-edit- yes, I spelled 'musicians' wrong... mkay?
Actually. I am working on a project with multiple musicians and singers. Interested? I play guitar, piano, clarinet, violin, and ocarina

sweet, yeah... I do bass and guitar, whats the project?
Here is the copypasta I have been sending out to musicians:
Hello, I am a songwriter, guitarist, and pianist currently working on making music with a new band. However, I have also been working on a solo album that veers away from the typical sound I play with my live band. I have been drawing inspiration from many artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Gaby Moreno, Nerves Junior, to name a few and I am taking this entire project in an unorthodox approach.
In terms of sound, I am experimenting with keyboards, filters, lo-fi production sounds in a higher quality production environment. Techniques such as recording parts to media such as cassette tapes and ripping audio source to a computer are being used (To give you an idea). Another part of the project is creating tracks with other artists contributing their personal feelings to song lyrics that I write, broadening the emotions provoked by tracks and offering opportunities to artists and even a few close friends that have dabbled in music.
A variety of effects, mixing techniques, and instruments will be used in production and I am mixing it all from my home studio by collecting pieces from other artists which leads to me emailing you.
Essentially the basis for this record would be that I send out lyrics to various singers and musicians and allow them to interpret the song in anyway they choose, perhaps offering minor guidelines like tempo. The artist would take artistic freedom over what they have been presented with. You would be able to sing any way you wanted, in any mood. Just however you feel when you read the lyrics. The lyrics will also be sent to instrumentalists who will create backing tracks based on the emotions provoked by the song. Finally, I will add what I had written the song like, in my own style, and begin a mixing process that will combine elements from every single artist contacted. The process is experimental and I will roll with whatever I am presented.
You won't need to contribute too much if you don't want to. If you simply want to contribute vocals for one section of a song, it is fine. If you want to record the entire song, it too, is fine. At the end of the project, the album will be available for free via bandcamp with liner notes included that will provide listeners with ways to donate to everyone who contributed to the album.
I thank you for reading this if you have and if you have any other questions or if you would like to start right away, feel free to email me.
I'm sitting here at work listening to the Verdi Reqiem, mouthing the words and following my part (Alto I). We're performing it at the end of October...
I also play guitar and have started noodling around with an Alto Sax.

Okay please don’t judge but I listen to musical soundtracks and classical music all the time. I listen to musical soundtracks because all the songs are so inspirational and I feel that it really helps with character development because I am an actress. I listen to classical because there is nothing more satisfying than hearing a whole symphony in your ears.
Purple Haze live at Woodstock - Jimi Hendrix
bebe Rexha.
I love hip hop and rap music. I usually listen to Mac Miller rap songs. He was a great rapper but unfortunately left us too early. I used to have his special swimming summer hoodie when this song was released. He made his name in such a short span of time in the rap industry.
wow this is one of my favorite songs
Jazz !
Jazz has all the elements that other music has: It has melody; that's the tune of the song, the part you're most likely to remember.
Guitar based Jazz-Rock Fusion, Larry Carlton, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Johnny A. John Petrucci/ Dream Theater.
Edit: I am indeed truly amazed at just how good my taste in music really is..............
All anime ops
Jazz, Because no matter what I always feel good with Jazz music
I'm a music lover and I don't have a favorite song or genre. My playlist can include African folk songs, Polish rap, Miley Cyrus, Ramstein and Vivaldi. I don't understand how it can be that I like so many different compositions, but that's the reality. I try not to show anyone my musical tastes, especially its dark sides. So when I'm asked to turn on songs on my phone at parties, I say that my battery is running low, or that I have nothing, or that I've deleted everything. I come up with excuses so that only people don't look at me like I'm crazy.
Rolling Stones live, Gimme Shelter, Sympathy for the Devil
