AOKP/BlackRose Problem. - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I did a bad install of AOKP, and as a result can't get past the boot screen, sadly I forgot to make any backups or recoverys, and because I am using blackrose, there is no option to do a factory reset.
Is there anyway to get back to factory defaults?

What do you mean with factory defaults? On which rom do you want to end up? If you would like to go back to stock rom see this thread.
Do you have a working recovery? In that case you can flash any rom you want and your done. If not you can install any recovery via fastboot.

Need help! stuck in unlocked boot image!

Hey guys i need some serious help
Im coming from cm5.0.8.1,froyo radio, pershoots kernel. I tried to go to jand-o-rama. final 9.
So i did a nandroid back + clockworkmod backup. Now i wiped evrything,dalvik-cache, cache, restore/factory settings and battery. When i was flashing kand-o-rama everything went well except the last part were i think it was flashing the kernel. It said error(couldn't remember the code). So i did another full wipe and tried to restore to my previous version but when i did its just stuck on the colored X with the unlock sign. I tried several full wipe/restore with no luck. I also tried to full wipe/restore factory settings then reboot but still wouldn't go past the bootloader.
Also tried to reinstall fastboot but still the same.
Im not good with ADB so pls if you can help me with my dilemma.
Pls pls..
Thanks!

[Q] Clear all private data without unrooting?

I am going to be selling my Hero to someone who would like it rooted (as it is now).
His plan is to use it in WiFi mode only and won't be activating it with Sprint.
Is there a way to clear all my private data (logins, bookmarks, contacts, calendars, etc.) without unrooting?
Will he then be able to enter his google account info and gain access to the Market though WiFi?
Thanks!
Eph
The "Factory Reset" feature does the trick. But if you are really paranoid, you could wipe data, cache, dalvik and resintall the ROM from recovery.
Won't factory reset unroot me?
Will he still be able to access the net and the market via WiFi?
What ROM are you running?

Factory reset should bring the phone back to the state it was in when you first installed the rom. If you really want to be safe, boot into recovery, wipe everything and reflash the rom. You will still be rooted. Remember to either remove and keep your sd card or to format it to erase the data on it, THEN create a nandroid for whoever is buying the phone. Yes, they will be able to run the google setup via wifi if they choose to do so.
Weird.
After I do a factory reset (either from settings or from recovery), it stays in a boot loop. I have to pull the battery and restore the Nand.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Eph
Tried many different factory resets last night.
Tried from recovery mode and from settings>privacy.
In each case, I got stuck in boot loops.
Also tried to wipe data, cache, dalvik and resintall the ROM from recovery. Same thing - boot loop.
All I could do was pull the battery and do a nand restore.
Any ideas?
go here and download the ruu. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=800586 . follow the instructions. this WILL take away root and will flash you black to stock. then, go here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-743289.html and follow those instructions to re-root your phone. it is very easy. then flash your rom of choice again. that will erase your data AND get rid of your bootloop. idk why the othere way isnt working for u though
OR, you should try to take out your sdcard or format it before you reflash the nfinite's stock. i had this problem once because some of my data was on the card and so when it tried to boot it got stuck.
Thanks guys. I tried the factory reset a couple more times, and for some reason it booted.
Thanks again!

[Q] factory settings option gone from safe mode menu

Phone is a rooted SGH-T679
I removed a bunch of programs after which I couldn't get back to home screen, only contacts.
Rebooted phone but couldn't get past Samsung splash
Got into Safe Mode, but the Factory Settings option is gone.
I'm thinking that if I can determine why that option is no longer available, it might help me figure out what to do next.
If I have to flash ROM, fine, but I wanted to investigate this question first.

download any rom of choice onto your external sd and then wipe (factory reset) and flash rom and proper gapps. you should be fine. if you want to go to stock then just flash the stock rom

TWRP recovery loop

So the case was I reset my device, and later after i flashed a ROM into my device, it does not boot. Instead, it goes into TWRP recovery. And it goes to TWRP every time i boot my device.
I have done this for so many times and I cannot even know what is going wrong this time. I am quite frustrated and I did googled a lot but it did not solve my problem. So, I want to know if anyone else encounter similar problem and solution towards it.
I tried:
1. Wipe the dalvik cache.
2. Remove the battery for half an hour
3. Reflash the twrp
Any efforts and reply is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Mine's exactly the same, I factory reset so I could pass the phone on; and now it will not install custom roms, I've tried about 7 or 8, and it will only boot into twrp 3.0.2-5. Soft brick, but I'm unable to find any solution.
Here's hoping someone will come and help.
I think I'll have to reinstall twrp by connecting the phone to the computer, but I've no idea how to do this.

Exactly the same issue here too, installed lineage 14.1, was working great, I was selling to a friend, did a factory reset, now stuck at twrp, roms install etc, but after a reset, every time straight back to TWRP.
Looks like I might need to flash back to stock somehow.
But I did find this, but not yet tried.

As slifer225 mentioned you can downgrade to stock firmware by installing the stock MM rom s433 version using spftools.
Download and Install stock MM rom using spftools.
Here is the link- https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cco5/JYk3ytrW1
For further info follow this post- https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-...3#post71749243
Follow this step by step guide to go back to unrooted stock rom. If you want to root after that then try installing custom recovery(twrp) again using spftools and flash supersu.zip using recovery. Do take a backup though before rooting your device.

Everything is working perfectly as I myself had gone through the same issue and did everything to fix the problem until I downgraded back to stock. Did root on my device again and installed lineage 7.1.1 and it works like a charm. One thing I love about this rom is the efficient ram management, lag free but battery management is not upto the mark but I guess we can work it out.
Whatever you do never forget taking a backup of functional rom.
Yes, I can confirm the solution worked for me, I left it with stock rom for my friend, I tried lineage 14.1 and did a factory reset, but ended once again with softbrick , lineage will install and work perfectly, but as soon as you do a factory reset, soft brick
Now I've hard bricked it. I loaded up a 'looprecovery' when it rebooted there's nothing, no charge light no vibrations PC doesn't see it, land fill?
Wondering...

I think that solution only works on Snapdragons. It didn't for me. Is there a solution for MTK devices?
the solution for this(FIX)
all we need to do is reinstall a stock recovery and the again reinstall the TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k3-note/general/ufficial-thread-lenovo-k3-note-t3102997
follow this link..my phone just got fixed
My phone TWRP-looped many times. The solution is actually easy.
1. Reflash using SPFlashtool ONLY the stock recovery
2. boot into stock recovery
3. choose english > press reboot phone
4. phone will reboot into rom without problemos
5. reflash TWRP
cheers
or
1. Copy stock recovery.img into sdcard
2. In twrp, select Install and navigate to where you put stock recovery.img
3. Press install image. Then, Select recovery.img. Slide to install
4. boot into stock recovery
5. choose english > press reboot phone
6. phone will reboot into rom without problemos
7. reflash TWRP
DONE

hI MY FRIEND , you have been able to fix your K3 note, I have the same problem, I made twrp flash and went into infinite loop. Can you help? thank you
I smashed it and put it in the bin. I think once you can't get a charge light after tyring for a couple of week, it's dead.
Not working for Lenovo K3 Note.
My K3 note stuck in the twrp recovery after factory reset from the RR. I tried this solution but it didn't work.
Please help.

How do I completely restore everything to stock?

First of all, I know that this question has been asked before but the solutions on those threads aren't what I'm looking. So please hear me out here.
So, I've been trying to find out how to completely restore my phone to stock. People said to flash the fastboot rom and I did but it didn't restore the phone *completely*. First I thought that it did, since the custom recovery was gone along with the custom rom. But then I flashed twrp again and I noticed that my previous twrp settings and theme are still intact, meaning that they were not wiped by the fastboot rom.
What should I do to remove them completely? On Samsung phones i could just flash through odin and everything would be restored. How do I do it on xiaomi's? Thanks!
Did you choose clean flashed and lock option? or flashed with save user data? choose clean flash and lock (it will wipe everything in your device so do backup first).
Flash the latest miui stable version

yes i tried that, then i unlock the bootloader again just to make sure, flash twrp and yup my twrp settings are there still. if it were wiped it would have reset to default settings right?

It should have made clean flash. honestly i never cared about after clean flash if it retains setting or not because that doesn't even matter at all to me since i am using android or caused any problem /issue.
May i know what is your purpose of getting rid of TWRP settings? and what exactly setting you want to get rid of?
if still care about getting rid of full twrp setting i highly recommend you to visit xiaomi service center and ask them to install latest version because they thoroughly clean flash device like it was out of the box using some other method.
