Hi is it possible for me to update my Samsung galaxy tab
Model: GT-P1000
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000JXJM2
Kernel version:
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #1
Build number
FROYO.JPJM5
You will install Kies on your PC before, And put your Tab connect to USB. Well you can update via Kies.
sorry for my bad English
Good luck
hi there are no updates available thinking of rooting it but have no idea how and if i can do it with my tab i want version 2.3 or later
makes restock rom, recommend the "GB_Stock_Safe_v5" from overcome
and download your latest version (same region) from sammobile.com then flash it
Maybe you must to un-root your tab but I'm not sure that make you can update.
Warning all your data will be lost.

Yes there are plenty of ways to update your device.
You can simply install Samsung Kies, connect your tab and update to official gingerbread (2.3) or you can install a custom GB rom (Overcome Rom).
You can also choose to install ICS (4.0) or JB (4.1), various flavors like AOKP, CM9, CM10 etc.
To get started on custom GB or any other custom rom you should first root/stock your device using the Overcome guide/rom. The original thread is Here but the links are down so you should get the guide and safe-restock/rom files from the mirrors here.
Everything you need to do is included in the guide. Once you have installed Overcome rom you will be rooted and have a custom rom/kernel, from there if y0ou want to go up to ICS etc you simply put the rom on your sdcard, boot into recovery and flash the desired rom.
For me better upgrde to overcome rom..its more stable and have native 3g call..

K to install 2.3.4 official samsung update you first have to install kies and see that is kies detecting your phone or not! If it is detecting then you can update your phone to stock 2.3.4 for that got to samfirmware.com and go to toolbox >firmwares> gakaxy s and their read the guide and update your phone!
P.s. Close kies before using odin or you may get into trouble!

Search here.. Latest for your country is 2.3.5.. This is not carrier specific but it is an official release. Just flash this via Odin.. If you want kies to update your firmware, revert to froyo first then try connecting to kies.. if it doesn't give you updates to download, you have to flash via Odin.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-S5570&r=1#regiona
by the way, if you have cm7 or other custom ROM, kies will not work..
Try it to flash via odin, If you have CM just flash it to 2.3.4 via odin, then run Kies and solved!
There is thread about stock roms in mini dev forum. Flash them with odin. Safe to flash as the topic said.
P.S. Never tried, but the response is good. Sorry, my english isn't the best.

Hey guys!
I need your help in this one i want to run a custom rom on my device
but had some really bad difficulty's and ended up with a bootlooping phone what whas really hard to fix (more luck than knowledge)
Some how i managed to go back to custom and its running on :
Firmware
2.3.6
Baseband
I9000XXJW4
Kernal
2.6.35.7-I9000XXJW4-CL1043937
[email protected]#2
Buildnumber
GINGERBREAD.BOJW6
ClockWorkMod v3.0.0.5
AND IT IS ROOTED
so i know i have to upgrade my CWM but this messed up my phone the first try.
So need some advice and direct links to versions i need to download for my type op phone and kernal.
Thank you.
First decide which type of ROM you want to flash. Since there are many custom ROMs supported for your device. So do some searching and decide.
My advice is to stay with a stable ROM with least or no bugs.
After you have done this you can flash the ROM with either odin or directly by applying update from sd card during recovery.

And yes i know there are many kinds of custom roms! how ever many roms required CWM 5 or 6
And thats where the problems are starting.
I'm interested in CyanogenMod 10.1 or Slimbean
Follow the steps given in the following link for flashing cyanogen 10.1
A detailed procedure is explained here.

I've been using CM 7 on my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 and recently it has started to crash really frequently... So how do I remove it?
I understand that I'll have to download some "ROM" and go into download mode (how?) and then do something..
Please have in mind that my USB is NOT working for some odd reason but I can transfer files to my phone via Airdroid if transferring ROMs(?) is a thing I have to do.
EDIT: My android version CURRENTLY (with CM) is 2.3.7, before it was 2.0.2.
You're in the wrong section. Please post in the right section next time.
Try searching a flashable Stock ROM. If u don't find one, buy a new USB cable.

So I guess I'm staying with Cyanogenmod...
You can try a Stock Based Rom or even a CM 7 based ROM which is more stable.
A few good ROMs have been reviewed by me here,

1. Flash your current official firmware via Odin
2. Upgrade to Gingerbread flashing a stock rom via Odin
I advice you to be careful flashing GB roms when you are using Froyo, so you should upgrade to GB before flashing a GB custom based rom

There's no such thing as uninstalling a rom, just flash a new one and you're good to go
