Hello Everyone
I was using crom bean v 1.4.0. To try another rom I factory reset the phone, did wipe cache and dalvik cache and also format/system. After that the phone didnt boot but could enter recovery as well as download mode.
I tried flashing xxjw4 stock firmware but it enters recovery with errors and then in a boot loop. I have read a bit and I guess I need to flash a stock firmware (with 3 files). I am currently downloading xxjvu4 firmware but would prefer if there is some direct link for the same as the current link is quite slow.
Now when flashing a stock rom should I have repartition ticked or not. Some posts say is should be ticked while others say it can brick the phone!
I am not sure what to do and how to recover the phone.
Help would be appreciated.
Regards
Every other article on net says repartition should be ticked but this article says
DANGER: Re-Partition Option should be “UNTICKED” or else your phone may get bricked.

Is it safe to downgrade from crom bean to xxjvu gb 2.3.6? Read somewhere there can be bootloader issues? :-?

just use a downgrade kit or rescue kit from MY Android Collection , links below ..you only use repartition when using a PIT file, so no need to tick it IF you don't use one. At the same time MY Android solutions ( link below) , have solutions for your problem too

I read somewhere there can be issues because of jellybean using a different partition layout?

you are downgrading so nothing to worry about except you should save your important data , if any and also save you efs folder. just follow the guide at samfirmware or at RAMADs thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881

Though I do not have any important data How would I save it (If I had) since the phone is in boot loop? And also what is in the efs folder and how to take a backup of it?
After reading many threads the procedure seems to be like. Open odin. Select corrosponding files for csc pda and modem. Select pit file and select repartition and start the program.
I believe there is nothing more to it or is it? And no issues about what kernel it is and what partition it is if this method is followed?
Thanks

you only need to read your phone WIKI to know everything about your phone
I was able to recover phone by flashing stock xxjvu. Thanks for the help.

Yours looks like already damage some partitions due to the EMMC bug, wiping under ICS buggy kernel.
So you should look for help from warranty service if you can. Or do repartition using custom PIT file or manual method, although will loose some space of sdcard. The guide is in the thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661590
Hope it helps.

I want to mention is that when trying to install file or 2.tar 1.tar ITS Odin stuck to spl files
sorry for my english please be patient
You can install custom roms which is packed in .zip format as suggested in the guide. If one rom not wirk, try a secobd one. See how it goes. Btw, it always useful if you post partition table so we can see if it looks right.
About kernel. Should use abyssnote, search in the forum you will find it.

If possible you should give the source where the PIT file is from. If it is custom PIT file from hg42 you should mention it, or from someone or you made it? Using a blind PIT file is dangerous and can lead to hard-brick.

here is Dr. Ketan's thread, download stock GB firmware for Brazil from post #2 and if you are on Mac then use Heimdall to flash it. You cannot flash stock firmwares using cwm.

Yes, you can use mobile odin pro to flash stock firmwares, but I haven't used it so far, so cannot comment. Check in the thread link I have provided above, you will find instructions to use mobile odin in the same thread somewhere.
I did flash via Odin Pro, but now the screen does not come from samsung. The kies does not connect and Haindall a warning of "tar reader contained an invalid file size". What do I do now?

So, mobile odin completed the flash? Flashing GB on ICS/JB roms will end in boot loops, that's normal. go to stock recovery (vol up+home+power) and perform wipe.
Long story but I need to downgrade my i9000 from CM10 (currently on c-rom bean v2.3) back to stock 2.3.6 and couldnt find anything specific to the i9000 on to how to do it. Can I just get the stock firmware (ie PDA, CSC, Phone) and then flash through Odin? But I read on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729458) that I may also need PIT and Bootloader? If so, where can I download these files??? Any help greatly appreciated!!!!

You have to download any 3 files stock ROM (I suggest you JVS, as JW versions can damage your IMEI), then select PDA, CSC and Phone
in ODIN. You don't have to have bootloader, as it is already in PDA, and yes, you have to have PIT file, it is usually within archive with ROM.
Just flash it and you're done. For download go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837223 and you'll find
there any ROM you want. Hope it will help you.

Thanks for your prompt response. I am looking to go back to stock GB and last time I downloaded them from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881&page=1). I chose XWJW8/XWJW1/VAUJV9/Sbl (CSC: VAU (Vodafone)) as I live in Australia and my provider is Vodafone. But how do I extract the PIT file??
Also out of curiosity, what if I chose the stock rom of another network provider? Does it make a difference??

you cannot extract a PIT File, you can download a 512 PIT file from My Android Collections
If you use telstra , it will not work for vodafone and vice versa as they are branded
(Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing.)

Ok. So I take the 512 pit file from your link and also the official GB firmware from Ramad's thread. Then flash using Odin with only PIT, PDA, Phone and CSC. Also "re-partition", "Auto reboot" and "F Reset Time" needs to be ticked. Sorry about being so padantic but just wanted to make sure I get the steps right the first time. Thanks!!!

yup, that should do it mate.
To unbrick the soft-bricked Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000, I used Odin3 v3.07 and s1_odin_20100512.pit file. By mistake I checked Re-Partition and now I'm facing trouble.
1. I cannot boot the phone.
2. The phone does not start in recovery mode.
The only thing I can do with the phone is to stat it in downloading mode.
Could you please suggest me the solution of described problem?
there are many ways to fix that, if only you had used search Immma do my best to show you a few or how to search for them
1. the ezbase kit complete with info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095519 (the link is there somewhere)
2. download a stock firmware and write with odin without ticking repartition. select pit file but do not tick repartition
basically that should help your issue, considering you still have bootloader (and I assume odin still detects the phone) it should be fairly easy to fix.
cheers and good luck with it

That method is only for original firmware and not from custom 4.2.2
Then flash stock JB and after you can downgrade, right?

Install a Cocore Kernel, then flash a stock based rom, or reboot on download mode if has the option
Sorry my English

Didnt worked, still oding cant recognise it to install original stock firmware
So it should be about your PC drivers.Uninstall and re-install latest drivers or you can install crappy Kies it will install too
Thanks all guys.
The Phone is on Download Mode now, and Odin recognised my phone.
And the 2.3.6 version is uploading now, and seems it is solved.
Thanks alot.

That's why you have issues with it.Downgrading have different method you should use pit file and check re-partition, you can't downgrade with a stock GB.
There's a thread in our i9070 forum.Use the given files in the thread maybe PC can recognize your phone.
