[Q] P7300 (3G) Radio for ICS - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

Hello, I have flashed the official ICS rom by safariking for P7310 on my P7300 (could not wait !) which means of course that I have no 3G available (WIFI only). Is it possible to flash a radio so that the 3G (SIM card) will be enabled ? Sorry I it is posted somewhere and if I missed in my search. Please advise. Thanks !!!

Problem is not the radio, you still have your original radio and if you flash a rom that has mobile data enabled then it will work. Mobile data must be enabled in rom. HC radio works with ICS and JB.

Ok thanks. In that case, I would have to wait for the official update I guess. I could flash the P7500 port but heard there are too many battery problems, i'm not sure ?

check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1893456
xda-user tracid managed to pull an "official" Samsung ICS for p7300 out of an OTA file.
Note that the OTA file itself may have been pre-release in some way - or put another way, no one seems to have received that OTA by the normal OTA process. As far as I can understand the matter, the OTA file was found on sammobile.com, which itself most likely got the OTA file from the update server of Samsung.

I have flash the p7500 port and don't have any problem about battery, so I think you should try it, and if you want you can make and receive phone call, you can find how to do that in this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879411
hope it could help

Yes, I'm all over it !!! I was just waiting for some feedback from some people who already tried it. Either way, looks like the tab is staying with me more longer than I thought...
Looks like he managed to enable phone calls as well

Hey Doc,
I am still om LR6 and software update shows "no update" I had the same issue last time as well and then I had to use Kies. I usually keep all files related to software update deleted from system as they keep running in background and copy them again to system to check for any update, could this be the reason for no OTA?
And what method do you suggest to update- Kies or odin? I am rooted with stock Kernel and almost all "possible" stock apps removed. I know I will loose root and all apps will be back in both methods
First there is no OTA update still in india after LR6.
And if you have disable software update related app then you won't get it.
I prefer Odin Odin and Odin only.

Ohh, I though there might be one after reading OP , by the way I enabled OTA by copying all files back to system. but if there is no OTA then how can it show something, lol. Thanks will stay on LR6 then.
Thanks a ton

Last i want to know, will i be getting future OTA's of stock rom???
Thanks a ton though

Since you are on a German ROM, so logically you should get all German updates whether through kies or OTA, but Indian updates are a no go.
You can later flash Indian version of LRQ using odin once available, I am sure Dr.Ketan will upload it same day

ICS 4.0.4 official Update for SGS+ available , is it true ?

Hi Friends,
Today I got a message from My Service Provided (Airtel) that the official ICS 4.0.4 is available for your samsung device and visit Samsung.com/in site. I had only one samsung device that is SGS+ (GT-i9001). Inorder to check that I dont have the original stock ROM with me as I already upgraded to so many custom ROMs. But only if using original Kies will show if the update is available or not.
Does any one else got to know about this news? Can someone with Original Stock ROM can check this is true or not?
Cheers,
Kirankumar.

Their is no further update for the Galaxy S i9000. Android 2.3.6 is the very latest.
I argue that Samsung should have released it with Touchwiz 4.5 instead of 3.0.

Cant check via Kies
I cannot check via Kies, as I m using CustomROM (BroodROM B E 1.2). I tried to connect to PC via Kies, its not even getting connected.
Also I lost my Stock ROM which was pre installed, and I believe only if check via the original installed Stock, Kies will show the update according to the region. That's why I mentioned, if anyone having such stock can give a try and check if the update is available or not.
Probably we'll never get official support ICS

[Q] I9305 still on 4.1.1

hello,
i got a question, I wonder why my s3 is still on android 4.1.1. I cant update via kies or ota, it just says i already got the latest version. Does it have something to do with my provider (proximus) or the fact that I have the 4G version, that I seem unable to update to 4.1.2? also, i never rooted my phone and im not planning on rooting it either.
thanks

I can't see any firmware from proximus on sammobiles, so there is a chance that it has not been updated for them, if you want 4.1.2 I would download the latest unbranded rom for the i9305 (be 100% sure that the model number is correct) you can then proceed to flash this via Odin, you will not need to be rooted and it will not affect the binary counter.
I suggest the unbranded rom because that comes straight from Samsung, and contains no carrier bloatware.
Next time please post your questions in the Q&A section, as it's against the rules to post questions in general discussion, I will report the thread and ask for it to be moved to Q&A for you

Sry but you didn't read it right and it was not a Samsung statement (just a rumor), for now we wait for 4.2.2 or 4.3 on S3 and only in like 4-8 weeks at least.

I would really prefer to not do anything with my phone, I tried rooting and custom rom and all that stuff on my transformer prime tablet and that didn't end good at all, so I really dont want to ruin my S3, as I have no idea what unbranded and Odin and carrier bloatware is... And sorry for the wrong section
Also when I look on this sammobile site for firmwares, I do not see my PDA number. My Baseband version is I9305XXALJ2 and buildnumber JR003C.I9305XXALJ3. I do not see those numbers anywhere on the site, and since you said I had to be absolutely sure I have the firmware with the right number, there is no firmware for my device or..?
latest is 4.1.2 on sammobile .
Updates Kies OTA are via your vendor . They may choose not to update .

The roms on Sammobile are completely stock, but if you have a carrier branded rom, and they haven't updated you to 4.1.2, and you don't want to mess around there isn't much you can do except wait.
But if you have the I9305 you can flash any I9305 rom.
Odin is a program leaked from Samsung it's what they use to flash test devices at the factory, unbranded is just a rom that has come from the manufacturer rather than carrier, and contains no carrier based boot animations or apps etc. Bloatware is unnecessary system apps (for most people) some examples are apps from your carrier.

Man, just download generic (not branded ROM) for your region and flash it via Odin 3.0.7. It takes about 5-6 minutes to flash and you'll be OK afterwards...
I never use branded fw. Every time I buy a new phone, put it to download mode right out of box and flash generic ROM.

The Luxembourg version is now on sammobile and you should be able to update your phone via Kies. This is the version sold by Belgacom in Belgium as they also own Tango.

[Q] If update official update from different country will baseband change?

Hello guys, i will explain the story in order, sorry for my bad Grammar.
first i have the official GTI9070 but i forgot the baseband (GB)
then i accept software update that appear in notification bar, my baseband become I9070DXLK2 (GB)
and i see there's CM11 out that can make kit kat running in I9070.
but it requires root to install CMW / TWRP..
so hard to find root zip for DXLK2, and then i found one full ROM rooted then flash it with odin.
my baseband still I9070 (GB) but rooted (binary counter++)
after that i flash TWRP with odin too.
then i try flashing CM11 with TWRP.
it success, but no mobile network.
i search at this forum and someone say "no mobile network happen because flashing from GB (2.3.x) directly to KK (4.4.x)"
he said first update from GB to official samsung JB.
the problem, there's no official samsung JB update for my country/region (DXLK2)
my question, if i flash the official samsung JB update from other region.. let say it italy.. will my baseband change?
if it changed, what's the problem and whats the negative impact? what should i do better?
thx in advance.
PS: my device is Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 (Indonesian)

You don't have any negative impact if you flash any stock JB firmware, only with your warranty if you still have one.
Please, follow this guide from point A (JELLYBEANIZATION): [GUIDE] From stock GB to Custom JB (Noob-friendly)
After you updgraded to JB, ask/read some tutorials linked here: [{INDEX of GUIDES/TUTORIALS}] Galaxy S Advance [GT-I9070].
Be sure when you proceed to do something OR ASK before, NOT AFTER you doing something wrong.

In Canada, have XXLK2 (Africa?). Want JB, use UK version?
I bought my unlocked I9070 almost 2 years ago and am thinking about upgrading to Android 4.1.2 (JB).
On samsung-updates there appear to be lots of JB versions for different regions.
Can I just select the one for Britain (XXLQE)? Is there anything I need to check re: compatibility?

Yes you can flash any stock firmware for I9070. Be sure you don't flash firmware for I9070P.

I had a lot of trouble trying to get the samsung-updates.com download to work (used the free one, which either didn't start most of the time or died during download). Eventually, I took the filename (for Britain) and Googled it, and found a download site that let me download it (required 3 hours).
Armed with the .zip file and ODLIN, it worked like a charm. All my installed apps and data survived, which surprised me. I thought this would be a vanilla install.

[Q] Upgrading S4 Active I9295 to 4.4 Kitkat

First of all, hi.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active I9295 with android 4.2.2 and I've seen on internet that 4.4 is out, but not for all devices.
I didn't received any notification through wi-fi, i checked for updates even using kies but no result.
I just want to ask.. can I update using another 4.4 version ? (from nordic countries or germany or etc).. without carrier-locking my phone ?
Do you recommend me any official 4.4. rom that would be compatible with my phone ?
And, not at least, are there any improvements in battery on Kit Kat ? (that's the reason I want to update, my battery sucks).
Right now I have baseband I9295XXUBML3; VERSION NUMBER JDQ39.I9295XXUBML3, KERNEL VERSION [email protected] #1.
Please answer as soon as possible.

It is safe to flash any other i9295 firmware. When the firmware for your country is released you can just reflash.
I'm still not sure.. are there any reasons to take the risk ?
I've seen a lot of people complaining about wi-fi and having to flash modem separately.. and so on.
So, it is 100% safe ? and are there any improvements which deserve the risk ?i
Hi,
i got this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764500
works like a charm, for me.
I'm still on 4.2.2 as well as there has been no official update for me yet. Yay for Eastern Europe.
From what I've heard 4.4 should handle the battery a little better and microSD cards a lot worse. Apparendly Android 5 (Lollipop?) will fix the SD card trouble, look a lot more like Ubuntu Touch (rumoured Q4 2013 :silly: ) and will only take a few months until it is out (rumoured Q4 2014). So you can flash twice or wait and flash once. It depends on how you use your phone, though I doubt S4A will be getting Android 5 as an official Samsung update.
The flashing guides are good enough to minimize the risk either way.
Official OTA came for this firmware.. Kies didn't find any update btw.
I'll come with an edit or something else after it finishes.
// So far so good.
Everything works like a charm, battery looks promising, can't tell until a full charge.
Love white battery indicator.
Not big modifications btw, i'd have loved if they put S5 UI...
i have a device with basically the exact kernel, baseband version and build number, but i have no OTA update, and kies don't find any update, any idea why ?
baseband > I9295XXUBML3
kernel > 3.4.0-2015525 [email protected]#1

No. The firmwares ate optimized for specific regions, but they do not lock you in to a carrier. The major difference between the different versions will be the modems and the APN settings, so you may find that you get better signal with one version as opposed to another.
Hopefully somebody else can chime in and share their experience.
I want to download an update i saw on the sam mobile website.
So i can download and install any official firmware for i9295 on my phone, regardless the baseband, version number, etc? Right?!
My current carrier will still be working right?
