Help with new radio image for gt-s5830 - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
Recently unlocked my gt-s5830 by getting the unlock code from the blm5 image
Unfortunately my phone now has no signal whenever a sim card is inserted but does when there is no sim?!?
I have tried different network sims and also checked that the imei is correct and isnt blocked
On phone status under service state it says out of service but under mobile network state it says connected
The phone works perfectly apart from the signal problem
When i flashed a vodafone rom it even updated and downloaded vodafone apps the first time i turned it on but still had no signal!?!
I found one person who had a similar problem, albeit on a different phone, who fixed it by flashing different radio images
So now my questions....
Can anybody tell me
How do i tell what radio image im using at mo
What radio image is the best for a samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830 and can i flash this separately or do they come as part of a one package md5
If so which would be best
Is it best to look for a full package instead of a one package
Also if it does come separately or part of a full package what type of image is the radio image classed as by odin (boot phone pda csc efs)
If anyone has any other ideas on how to fix my phone please also let me know!
Many thanks
Matt

Radio image, aka modem you flash with odin to 'phone'.
The one you need depends on your region (america, europe, asia) and sometimes even country.
Browse the forum, searching for modems. You can alao get them from full package for odin.
Remember, each stock firmware that can be flashed with odin is packed with modem files for a particular region.
Good luck.

[Q] Galaxy Mini GPS not working

This is probably a very common problem but I have unusual circumstances. I have a Galaxy Mini that I bought in Thailand, I flashed CWM and installed the "Democracy" ROM and had no problems at all with the GPS. I decided to go back to the stock firmware, only problem was I didn't have it! So I went here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551586) I didn't see the code that's printed on my phone's box on this page so I FOOLISHLY downloaded a European firmware (I figured it would be better to have writing in English than Thai).
Ever since I flashed that via Odin my GPS can't even find satellites even without locking on. I can only figure that this change to European firmware has changed a necessary file for the GPS. I went back to the Democracy ROM and still no GPS.
I just can't seem to find my original firmware that is printed on my phone's box (GT-S5570AABTHL), I didn't get the original PDA or CSC code (LESSON LEARNED!). The closest I can find is here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=4933
I do remember when I was running original firmware it was S5570B and that is the only result under the S5570B Thailand option. I can't figure out why under "Region" it says Cyprus, Greece when it's titled Thailand.
I just don't know if simply flashing back to the Thai firmware is going to solve my problem or not, I don't even know if this is the right firmware! I would download it and try it but I'm currently on 2G speeds so it will take me 3 hours to download the file just to test it, so I was hoping for a response from this site before I put myself through the agony of the long wait.
Am I on the right path here? Any help will be severely appreciated.
Flash the original country's software i.e. from where you bought it. B'coz if you flash another country's firmware, your GPS wont work. Kies also creates problem (in updates...) in most of these cases.

Highly Challenging Network Issue

I've had this samsung galaxy ace s5830i (my first android) for 4 of the most frustrating months now.
The problem first started with the phone being stuck on EDGE regardless of signal strength. I tried flashing it with new roms but had zero success. I tried manipulating the menu under *#197328640# but that led to a dead end as well. Every time I tried to select WCDMA only, the network bar changes to a "circle and cross" type of thing. I tried to dial *#7465625# to check for network locks but everything reads off i.e. no locks of any kind. Finally, I tried to select a new radio band by dialing *#4636# but that operation crashes a "com.android.phone" everytime.
So in summation, service mode changes don't help and flashing the rom doesn't help.
Recently, I to switched one of the strongest networks available (other than the one I'm on) but the phone is stuck on "emergency calls only" mode. When I try a manual network search and select the network to which the SIM card belongs, I get and error telling me that the SIM card can't register onto the network.
I have used these SIM cards on nokia phones and other samsung galaxy ace devices and have experienced none of the problems listed above, even in remote areas. The support guys of my network say nothing is wrong with my account.
So there you have it. Is there anything left that I can try?
Flash the latest firmware available for your region in Odin. Because this will wipe and reinstall your modem and other data as well as your ROM. If that doesn't do it then it must be a hardware problem, isn't it under warranty?
By the way just to rule this out, check you haven't lost your IMEI number with *#06# as this can also cause network access issues.

The IMEI ok. What section of the operating system controls the com.android.phone process or the phone's ability to select or switch bands? In my lay man understanding, this is where the issue lies and every time I flash, this region remains unchanged
Try changing manually CSC of the ROM.That's the most reasonable thing that I can thing of right now...if it don't work after changing it go to samsung service..

If you mean the *#272*IMEI# trick, then I already tried that and samsung has no presence in my country so no service centre to speak of
I have your exact same problem .
and I've been looking for a solution since last week , i'm starting to think its a hardware problem.
I "worked around" it by flashing the phone with a rom that locked the device and then reflashing it with the original rom. At least now it picks network but the other problems haven't left i.e. still no 3G and I can't edit any menu under service mode et al.
On another note, if you have the time, try flashing with different modems... maybe a miracle will happen
There seems to be something wrong with basebands of latest stock roms.Try switching aeroplane mode on and then off.I regularly lose signal..and get stuck without signal until I reboot.

Make sure of your phone model (Under the battery) because there is GT-S5830M GT-S5830C and GT-S5830I.
In my case, I have GT-S5830M and the only modem that worked for me is PHONE_S5830CVJKL4.tar.md5.
Maybea changing the modem will fix your network problem.

You can use a file called Odinatrix (found somewhere here on xda) to split single firmware files into pda, modem and csc. I, on the other hand, still get a circle and cross whenever I set the device to wcdma only. The interesting thing is that setting it on auto picks up 3g but very rarely (twice in many months) and for a short time (like 3 minutes). still looking for answers

[Q] NO REGISTERING ON THE NETWORK NO SERVICE Galaxy s3 mini I8190n

Hello everyone. I bought a samsung galaxy s3 mini version nfc i8190n when lam bought the phone had a problem with GSM and HSDPA network. 6. After each writing ROMs I rooted the phone and replaced the file "modemfs" nv.dat file. I downloaded from the XDA forum several files of other users Nv.dat i8190N this model, we have replaced each other and nothing.
7. I deleted all files in EFS folder and modemfs after deletion had baseband XXXXX. IMEI number has remained untouched.

Yes i know but why would you purposely modify the modems and other stuffs, you should have brought it to your network provider service center or samsung and ask them about it, it could just be an SIM card problem
thanks for reply

No. Is not sim problem issues becouse i test with a nother sim card`s of diferent carriers. Wen i put a nother sim card in apn setings are the setings for the carrier sim wat ai put,wen i cheange the sim with a nother carrier in the apn setings are the setings of the carrier sim card wat i m put. So for exemple i have 3 sim card`s of diferent carriers and all the sim`s card have pin security cod and the phone ask me for pin, after insert the pin code with all sim card`s don`t register on the netowork but the apn setings of the carrier automatic are there on the setings,so the phone see the sim card for all carriers, in setings wen a search manualy for the netorks the phone see the netowork wen i select the netowork manualy not register on the network,if i select automatic sey "registering on netowrk" but is not becouse if i want to call i can`t "not registering on network" sorry for my english ((

hmm.. as the last solution - search "gsmhosting efs backup request" on google ( ai not able to paste external links here). You will find the backup efs folder from a working sgs3 mini i8190 phone. Flash it to your phone (first keep a backup of yopur own efs before doing this ... just in case)
all the best !

My phone is bricked at this moment. Partition on the phone are mess up. One guy from the Mobile Phones Center brick the phone and my phone is in this stage righ now :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657862 . Wen i have news and solution i post heare. Good day All.
I got the same problem with my phone, it just stopped registering on networks, tried any sim that was available in my country and nothing worked! If you find any solution please update!
Any updates???
Searched and searched... Had a good rooted stock rom, then tried something new a few days ago. I seem to have messed up the modem/bandband. Some issues as the original post. Re-flashed different roms, stock, rooted, unrooted, custom. Tried various different baseband updates. Everything works except being unable to register to the network. IMEI has not changed or been overwritten.
Any help would be gladly accepted.

I have the exact same problem. I'm on Orange (EE). Yesterday morning my phone was registered on the network fine, I was in a poor signal area but still on 3G. Then I roamed across the south west of Britain and noticed my phone has no signal. It just wont register on any network, even EE. If I select automatic, it says it registers but it gets no signal and when I try to make a call. It says not registered on network!
The phone is totally stock. My sim works in another phone. I've done a factory reset but the problem still exists.
Was thinking about flashing the ROM but if others have been there too with no fix then I won't waste my time. I keep thinking EE have pushed something to my phone to block access as I'm out of contract by three months and they want me to upgrade!!

[Q] Present, past and still a future (with no product code)?

Hello,
I am new to mess around with mobile phones and Android and (therefore) also managed to bring my girlfriend's GT-I8190 phone to a non-working state. Although there are lots of information in this forum I am more confused than sure what to do. I hope to get here some help / information / explanation.
Past
The phone was bought in Germany and had probably a German firmware. But I do not know, since no connections to Kies or whatsoever and no backups where done earlier. After a error of Android (e:\ failed to mount or something similar) which blocked the phone on the startup logo of the non-modyfied S3 mini, my guess for a quick solution was to flash the firmware with Odin to a new(er) German version. I downloaded (from a German forum) and flashed successfully several versions (supposedly OXA). But with all version the network connection hasn't practically worked. Only very weak and only at a few locations. Once I used in desperation also a so called stock-recovery from somewhere.
Present
I visited a shop where the uber-friendly Samsung service overwrote the firmware first with the general and later with the LaFleur version (PDA: XXAMG4, CSC: QXXA MH1). Kies tells me the CSC is somehow a VE1 version (what country is that code for - moon?). But the problem hasn't changed.
I still have the original IMEI, but I'm missing the baseband and, what worries me more: no product code. I managed to read it out only with "CheckFus" which says only: Not Active1
Future ?
Since I probably haven't used the right firmware at least once, I am hesitating to do more. My ideas are as following: modem, firmware, baseband.
What is the best way to proceed? Is there still a easy solution? I don't mind to change to another version - no stock firmware is required. Am I close to have a 4" tablet?
Any answer is appreciated - thanks!

Try to flash this firmware : http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=18114 via odin3 it's a i8190XXAMG4 (DBT) firmware it also include modemfs (modem) then try to upgrade your baseband to XXAMG4.

I8190XXAMG4 / QXXAMH1 is a German La Fleur firmware. I have no idea why your CSC seems to be messed up. It should probably be DBT.
What does it say if you dial *#1234# in dialer?
Thanks for the infos so far.
I did not intend to link to the LaFleur version in the first post.
Do I need the root recovery for the baseband update?
With the 1234 code I get:
AP: I8190 XXAMG4
CP: XXXX
CSC: I8190 QXXAMH1
I think this is the same as mentioned before. I checked the origin of the files I used before on this mobile and it is possible that I used this a recovery file which may be for a 8190N (I cannot post the outside link yet). I did not read careful enough the thread linking to this file.
Can this be the origin for the messed CSC version and the missing product code?
Looks like you're without baseband.
Take a look at this thread and flash a modem for i8190.

Hello again,
firstly: Problem is solved - phone works properly. Thanks for the replies and to tys0n for the work with the files and the support - acutally doing the job of Samsung and google.
For the sake of completeness, I will tell what I did, if any unexperienced user (as I still am) will ever come across this thread:
I tried first just the standard firmware AMG4 from Sammobile (which is linked above) and afterwards the baseband files - but both did not help as expected.
I installed CWM and used the file from here and miraculously it was working (The phone is used only in 2G). Later I wiped the data and flashed again with the AMG4 firmware to have a clean version now.
AP, CP, CSC say all XXAMG4 now, Kies recognizes it as DBT (as supposed to). But the product code, which came back and was read out with CheckFus, says I8490 RWA XSE. This should be Indonesia, correct? Is there still an inconsistency somewhere?
Thanks again for the help

Modem baseband radio firmware question

Hello everyone,
after flashing a Custom ROM (Phoenix 3) i had my Baseband as "Unknown" , IMEI too and therefore SIMs not detected.
I solved this issue by flashing "Modem baseband radio firmware" found on Lenovo K3 Thread's homepage and all were ok at last.
The problem :
In the Google Drive link provided here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61890086&postcount=2
there are many firmwares. I didn't know which one to flash so i got the latest one "modem_VIBEUI_V3.1_1604_5.36.1_ST" which worked BUT ... internet speed is very slow. Is there a case that this is caused by unsupported firmware installed?
How can i install my Stock Firmware for Modem baseband radio but without reflashing stock ROM. Is stock firmware among the list on google drive directory provided before?
Thanks a lot.
Same issue here. Flashed Lemonade MM ROM with no SIM cards detected. Flashed the modem firmware to correct the problem and my SIM showed back up but now I am limited to H/H+ speeds in an area I have always gotten 3G speeds before.
EDIT:
I have just Google'd how fast H+ speeds are -- something I should have done prior to finding this post -- and am perfectly fine with a modem update increasing the speeds at which my phone operates.
can you please re-upload the modem flash image again?
