Hi,
My note just works great on LRQ , Hydracore OC and Nova Prime Beta.
Not much to wish for....
However when I checked, I had CSC unknown., and the folder is missing from system.
My Note is a DBT model from Germany.
I once rooted with the temporary CWM when it was still considered safe.
Hydracore was installed with Mobile Odin Lite
LRQ was installed with Mobile Odin Lite, just i just put the file in system, and Hydracore (and root) stayed as they were, and never had the new german bloatware installed too(?)
I don't know when I lost the CSC in the previous steps.
Anyways, now there is the new LRT, how can I flash this, and get the CSC back?
Just flash the md5 with Mobile Odin (now pro), or open de md5 and flash seperate parts exept the kernel?
Thanks for think with me,

Do I have an EFS backup?
Anyways,
Loaded the LRT md5 in Mobile Odin, unchecked the kernel, did not use inject su ...
Rom installed fine, kept root, removed the bloatware.
But, still no CSC ???
It seems one can live without it, but it would be nice to have it back, I think.... ?

Uhh would it be possible to use someone else csc folder and put it in system?
Or is this csc connected with other data of tbe phone?
Maybe some one has a DBT LRT csc folder I can put in system?

Did that, and no change, still no CSC...
Maybe a stupid question, but, if I just copy a /system/csc folder from another Note running DBT LRT to my note, would that solve the problem?
I have no CSC folder in my system...
Otherwise, Note is just running fine...
If you have correct CSC (check with *#272*IMEI#)
then nothing to do.
Yes there was something to do.
I have extracted cache.img
and then copied the csc and T9DB folders and CSCFiles.txt, CSCVersion.txt and SW_Configuration.xml to system....
Now csc is reported again by *#1234# and also by the SAMMOBILE firmware info tool.
(oh, btw, you gave a link to the LRQ cache.img, not the LRT I am using)

If you know Lrt is lrq +5mb so you can understand csc of lrq and Lrt have no practical difference
For acknowledge I have even used gb csc for ics too.
And when csc get screw you can't stamp single solution to work for all.
Flashing csc works in most of the case.

Hi I'm on miui and I am looking for the safest way to go back to jl2.. just wondering if I can flash the firmware from samfirmware with no pit and no repartition with Odin. Thanks in advance

preferably you should be using a 3 file firmware with pit and re-partition if you want to go back to stock.
otherwise you may encounter some errors, due to system files / settings being kept on the phone from the MIUI ROM

It repartitions your filesystem. Lets say you installed CM which uses ext4, then it will re-partition it back to RFS (stock default).
so when you using stock rom you haven't to select re partition but when using custom rom with different system layout and wanna go back to stock rom you should select re-partition

Hi, I want to update Stock ICS ROM (found from Sammobile available in my region). When I connected to Samsung Kies, it shows "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies". Possibly due to custom kernel, I guess.
Currently I'm using Notecore v12.5 kernel on Stock ICS ROM (DXLR2 - my region). Do I need to flash back Stock kernel first (from XDA thread) following the same as my current ROM version?
Thanks for your help.

Not guaranty even after flashing stock kernel you may get it. But sure you can try. If your installed rim is not for your region still it wont allow to update, in that case update using Odin.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
You need to be full stock but also you need to match your csc with the rom to be able to use kies...
I encourage you to flash a gb stock via odin and once in gb change the csc as it requires a wipe and wiping in ICS stock kernel its not safe..
Don't know if you can change csc in a custom kernel... SO someone like dr. Ketan could guide you better in this... In order to avoid going back to gb to change the csc

I've tried flashing back Stock kernel downloaded from your thread Anyhow, still unable to upgrade by Kies. Checked firmware version shows on Kies, looks like PDA & CSC version incompatible even I chose the same kernel version

No wipe is safer on stock ics.
Reflash notecore, full wipe then flash ics using pc odin
Then again reflash notecore n finally reset counter. This shud b easiest n safest way.

Yes you can flash stock ICS 4.0.4 without wipe too.
If you flash nonwipe version(My stock ICS ROM thread listing contains only Nonwipe), still your data will be intact, but No root.
But, If anything goes wrong you have to wipe compulsory and you will lose data. another thing is clean flashing always give you better performance.
So in case of you want to keep data, use mobile odin. like this
1-Reflash Custom kernel to get root access(i doubt you may have partial root.If you having full root, you can escape this step)
2-Backup with Titanium
3-wipe cache and data(here only if you have safe kernel, otherwise skip)
4-Reflash ICS
5-Reflash custom kernel
6.Wipe cache and data, if you have note did on step3
7-Restore data wit Titanium

Dr. Ketan, you are right. I updated SuperSU from Google Play. I did not remove it while flashing Stock ICS ROM.
Afterwards, I tried to flash latest version DXLR5 (my region) downloaded from Sammobile. It managed to clear my SuperSU from menu & About Phone shows the same version.
Note : I found SMS can't send or receive. Even I manually key in phone number of Operator's SMSC.
However, it still doesn't support upgrade by Kies. I guess likewise you said due to CSC / kernel incompatible
If so, how can I change back to Stock firmwares to get back ori PDA/Kernel/Modem/CSC (since I reflashed Stock ICS ROM directly still helpless)?
Shall I flash back to Stock GB ROM & do full wipe first? Then, install back Stock ICS ROM? Lastly, can flash Notecore v13 kernel?
Thanks for your help

Find out any GB ROM which was available for your country, then flash it using PC odin.
Then check your CSC by *#272*IMEI#, if it is not same as it shud be, then manually change it from list available there. This will hard reset your device, then you should be able to get update on Kies.
PS: Practically i dont feel any importance to have correct CSC. You can use your country Modem if you have any issue with SMS or mobile service related issue on foreign ROM.

So you must find a the same rom version(wich you want to install) as multipackage odin rom if you don't find it then you must convert your rom from onepackage to multipackage by yourself . Sorry for my bad english
Hi folks. I have decided to return back to ICS to get the official JB update when it hits in the UK. I was on various Custom JB roms but mainly CM10.1 and now want to try back out the standard JB. Anyways being the sensible chap that I thought I was I done a back up of ICS and that has reinstalled perfect. However not being such a clever chap I forgot I done that back up after updating to 4.0.4 (XXLRK) via Odin when I had my pc and now Kies wont let me update via it. Second problem I have is I no longer have a pc (in my house) because I bought an iMac.
So my question is. Is there a way to get a the standard ICS firmware that should be on an O2 Carphonewarehouse N7000 in the form of a ROM rather than the Odin files somewhere? I still have CWM recovery and Philz 3.99 installed and working.
Thanks in advance.
You can download the firmware you want from samfirmware.com and place it on phone memory. Then use mobile odin to flash the rom.
Do not wipe on stock ics kernels.

Ok I shall look to that idea. Just as another quick question if I do install the firmware via mobile Odin will it change the Kernel or will it keep me on Philz and thus still be safe?
While selecting the rom in mobile odin, it will fill up the partitions. At that time change the kernel manually to philz ics kernel tar.md5 file. That way you will be safe.
Just a thought but i wonder would kies pick up on the kernel and not allow update because of that?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
No kies does not pick up kernel. Just PDA, phone and csc. But OTA won't work on other kernels and recoveries.
Had a look on Samfireware but no sign on 4.0.4 for United Kingdom. Am i just being blind?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
There is a cpw 4.0.4 in there which is xxlrk. I think that's what you already have.
Just looked one website via iMac and can see it. Not sure but here is a screen shot of my settings and i notice that the firmware seems to be the one listed.
Any other idea why kies not liking this?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
This is what my kies says.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Could be because the baseband is incorrect. Open the rom file you downloaded and there will be a modem.bin file. Flash it using mobile odin. Use the modem tab.
