Hi, my friend recently tried to flash cm9 with his stock recovery! (Thats absurd but yea, he did it.). Now it doesn't get pass the boot screen. I went into download mode and tried to flash stock rom via ODIN. After flashing the stock rom, I tried rebooting but came across a white screen. While i had the white screen, ODIN was able to detect my device, thus I assume that the white screen is download mode.
Have u tried to boot into recovery after returning to stock or just getting white screen??

I already tried all I could: going back to stock via Odin, going into recovery mode, or rebooting the device. It just ends up in that screen. And now, there are some coloured bars on the phone, as shown in the attached picture of the main post.

Well, just a question : does the area code thing affect the flashing? I mean the 5 letters/numbers in the baseband version.

No, as long as its a firmware for your model, then there shouldn't be any problem. Try a full package (the one with phone, pda, etc.), since it usually fixes bad flashes of cm9 and cm10.

For unknown reasons, the SBF recovery in RSD lite 5.5 comes up with a "pass" result when the SBF itself actually fails. It runs like it worked, but on the final reboot, I get an endless bootloop.
Backstory:
I made a rom, flashed it, bootloop, go to SBF, SBF passes but bootloops.
*ps i've tried it 4 additional times and each time still bootloops even though it says "pass"
I've done this at least 4 times in the past 3 days trying to get my rom to flash. What the FUUUUUUUUUU*K is it doing this for now?

Is better to open the mouth having something useful to say, and not to spread urban legends.
(for the record I have the chinese rom installed on my phone, which is a verizon phone.)
Is a way better rom in many areas, but my purpose was not to suggest a different rom, but to solve a problem, with a safe solution, as I'm used to do in the last 30 years.

So I have a question. I had tried rooting my device and it failed into a soft brick. Previously I had jzo54k on there. Using Odin I installed the Poland software but it seemed to have failed because now I am not able to register on a network. I have an international version of the Note 2 that I am using in the US. Since I am not able to connect to a network I am lost as to what to try. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Hi
My stock JB official unrooted rom suddenly went to a bootloop. I looked up online for solutions and flashed an official JB ROM for my phone and Odin failed to flash it. I tried Philz recovery but Odin failed to flash it. I got a yellow triangle which I was able to removie through Odin. Currently my phone is stuck on the splash screen. Recovery doesn't work. Odin fails when I try to reflash with a md5.tar file. Please experts help me with my problem. would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I have gotten the stock ICS rom from samfirmware.com, Installed using ODIN and it all went green.
However, after restart the touch screen is not working !
I have tried the following:
1. First the Default (XXX) ICS rom
2. Second, the Actual ATT ICS rom
3. Flashed CWM and it is working
4. Then tried AOKP unofficial rom, not starting
No luck so far, any help is much appreciated please.
The touch screen was working after step 3?

One more note now, am not sure if that is normal if not.but after the latest flash ( preceded by a data wipe and format ) I can now see zip file I have placed on sdcard but can't access them for flashing and/or ad new zip files from pc

Any info around here about flashing CM or AOKP using ODIN for this I957 ?
Not with Odin that I'm aware of. All are zip files and would go thru cwm. If you get only to the Samsung logo, my experience has been a factory reset usually gets you past that and if that doesn't work flashing the stock rom with Odin does. And I'd flash the honeycomb rom and bring it back to they way I bought it, then upgrade to ics

I should mention something that has gotten me worried, i flashed a TWRP recovery to check if the touch would work there, but it didn't.
Not sure if i should be worried about HW now, or try another TWRP for instance? Or perhaps TWRP shares another flawed tab wide configuration with the Android image ?
It's not twrp, I use it on my tab and it Works fine. If you were the only one who has this problem I'd say hardware for sure. But at least one other person has the same problem after updating to ics. It seems like there something with the firmware interfacing with the touch screen.

Try Emergency Firmware restore on Kies. If that is not successful then I guess you could flash CWM (non touch edition) and then try find a way to reset your flash counter in recovery or download mode then warranty it. If not then you will have to pay up, $210 here in Aus to get screen/digitalizer/frame repaired (built together) at a Samsung place & that also renews your warrenty

Guys do you really think Samsung cares? I mean I had an Asus Transformer Prime with an unlocked boot loader. When unlocking it clearly stated the warranty is voided. A few months later my battery died and I sent it in as it was and they fixed it. I even told them it was unlocked and they fixed it.
I then heard and read somewhere that the warranty is lost to software related issues not hardware.
But oh well he reset it already. I only reset to get stock stock updates because I get bored sometimes!!

how did u get TA work with urs no respond touch screen????
Hi Guys!
Two days ago i tryed to replace the kernel of my SCH-i800 using ODIN and now it is apparently briked.
It is able to go to download mode and since then i am trying to flash lots of ROMs, kernels, PIT etc.
Some times, depending of the ROM I use to flash, it can boot, but the screen is black, like if the back light is turned off. I can either interact with the capacitive screen, but I can't see anything. Is is the closest i could get a unbricking.
Probably it can enter in recovery mode, but I can not interact with the menus because is completely black.
Someone could help me? Someone had the same issue and know what is happening with the back light?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Priyana, but I already tried this method before and it did not work.
I think that it is a problem with the bootloader files, but i cant find a link with the complete rom with the bootloader files.
Could you help me?
Unfortunately I don't have enough resources for CDMA tabs.
Yeah, you maybe need a complete ROM.
But since you can enter download mode, I would hazard a guess that your bootloader is intact.
