Come on guys What about radio and kernel, Should I change it? If yes, on what, please insert direct link to proposed radio & kernel and short guide how to do
Cheers!
ps#1 I found this radio but im not sure or it be good for me because i dont know enything about important md5 sum and dont want brick my phone

For Ice Cold, best kernel IMO is Kaijura's v4. Its the kernel with best performance and most things working
Radio is not as straight forward, generally I flash the latest for my region/country/network and leave it. But, lately I have been on the new ICS radios from europe and they work fine. GB and ICS radios are cross compatible, DO NOT flash a froyo radio as it will brick your phone.

Yep, download and check that the MD5sum of the downloaded zip is the same as the one on the download page.
You need s-off do to this
Put it on the root of your SD card and boot to bootloader, it will ask to appy the zip

I use either the recovery to check md5 before installing zip from sdcard or use es file explorer and go to the zips properties

Should just be the official release of what rmk posted a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the download man
Nothing against you but I'm gonna wait till this RUU appears on shipped-roms.com before running it. My understanding of the legal agreement with HTC is they cannot host any RUU files of test builds. Once this RUU appears on the site then I'll consider it official.
Just my 2 cents.

I'll let ya know in a few mins. I'm downloading it now.
A RUU is created by HTC themselves as the rom file is signed by them. So yes it will work on non-rooted phones.
Please note that using this program will erase any data you have on your phone. *Note it will not erase your SD card data*
A RUU file contains a full ROM instead of the OTA file which will only contain patch files and can only be used if your on the correct build number/radio version and android version with the correct application versions(AKA bloat apps).
A RUU file is meant more for completely resetting your phone by replacing everything with a fresh image. If you want to go through the pain of setting everything back up then the RUU is the best way to update your phone. If you don't then wait for the OTA to be pushed to your phone.

You are welcome to compare this to shippedroms when they post it.
If you run this on your phone, you return to Verizon stock. It will wipe your phone for you. Think ahead, and as always, nandroid.
Fairly certain this will include the newest bloatware as well...the VCast Store. When will it end....
Thanks for keeping us up to date, Football. It is appreciated.
Yup worked like a charm. I still have s-off so will be easy to reroot when necessary.
Does this contain newer radio? What is the kernel version? I LOVED the 10-13 leaked kernel. Hopefully if this is official, we will get source before long.
OMG "NV" MUST MEAN WE HAVE A NEW NIGHT VISION MODE!
In all seriousness I look forward to the kernel source for this build. Undervolting would further improve the already improved battery life of this new kernel. Can't Wait!

Anyone can rip the rom.zip file from the RUU. There is plenty of forum threads with instructions on how to do so. Search around and you will find them.

Yes you will be fine. I was running 2.12.405.7, rooted and S-OFF and installed this ROM right over it and didn't lose root or any of my installed apps either.
Just make sure you flash a Gingerbread radio after you flash the ROM to get your sound back.
Just a noob question: Why should i flash a new radio since i'm having Gingerbread 2.3.3 OS ?

Brilliant, I'll give it a go later, thanks. Already on a GB radio.
Any issues with this ROM? Probably not I realise as it's just a stock one. Just thought I'd give this a go as I think I'm going to wait until a stable CM7.1 comes out before I switch to that, and all the other ROM's seem to have niggling little problems of some form or another.

I debated long and hard about building this rooted, stock GB ROM and flashing it because IMHO the WWE stock Froyo 2.2 ROM was running just fine and didn't have any issues either.
Since 2.12 was the first 2.3.3 GB ROM and they soon followed it with 2.30, I figured whatever issues HTC had found on the GB IncS they corrected in 2.30, so I bite the bullet and built and flashed this ROM.
Agian IMHO it runs just as well as the Froyo ROM did and for my usage pattern, I can ususally get 2 days use out of a battery charge.

If you are currently running a Froyo ROM, then you need to flash a GB radio because a Froyo radio image does not work with a GB ROM and vice versa. At the time this ROM was built using the HTC Kitchen, it did not support adding a radio image to the zip file.
If you are currently running another custom GB ROM, then you already have a compatible GB radio and you can simply flash this ROM.
Just thought I'd update this thread to say I've just flashed this over the top of my rooted stock OTA rom, without wiping, and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks
Thank you for that..

Yes that is the same problem I'm having. I just downloaded the OTA and will investigate the update script. The new ROM has some extra img files that maybe we need to manually add to the kitchen setup folder to make a working ROM.
So I guess there's no hope for that new build.. (read a post of yours in another thread..)

There's always hope. When HTC gets around to releasing the IncS kernel code a workaround for running the ROM on older HBOOT version may be found.
Until then you can install the RUU, unlock it and then root it manually or flash one of the custom ROMs withs Sense 3.0/3.5

Can we have another one?
I recently flashed the latest radio 20.74.30.0833U_3831.18.00.11 for ICS since I was testing out things. I then installed the Virtuous Vivo ROM on my Incredible S (I was on CM 7.2 before) but now I am missing CM 7.2 or maybe bored of the Virtuous Vivo ROM. After flashing the radio (was still on CM) the phone wouldn't turn on and was stuck on the HTC logo until I installed the ROM.
Now I want to go back to CM 7.2 (From ICS to GB) and the question was should I downgrade my radio for CM 7.2 or leave it be and if it is possible to downgrade radio (won't brick the phone?). If YES, can someone recommend me a good version for GB?
This is kinda noob question but I don't know anything about RADIOs etc so it's probably hard for me to take a decision since this phone was bought recently from a second hand phone shop and I have invested a lot of cash in it
Thanks.

If anyone could help that would be great. I rooted and unlocked my phone about 4 months ago so I could get cool droid a custom ics Rom. Gonna need to be more specific than "random code and errors" lol. What error does 4ext say when you try to install the ROM?
Also are you restoring a backup, and then trying to install the ROM? If so, don't. Do a full wipe/factory reset and format all partitions (except SD card) in 4ext before installing the ROM.
If you're trying to update via official HTC ota with a custom recovery and unlocked/s off bootloader, you can't. That's why its failing. I would suggest trying a custom Rom based on the official update

Even if you are HTCdev unlocked, because your recovery is not stock and you have unlocked your bootloader, you can't install the update. That's why its failing.
So either re lock it and return to stock to install the ota, or download a custom rom based on the update which will give you a stock experience.

Mark was right, you can't install official updates with an unlocked bootloader. If your looking for a stock experience I suggest flashing this ROM. It's Android revolution HD and it's based off the stock HTC ICS update but optimized for better performance. You'll also have to manually flash the boot.img since your S-ON. Follow the tutorial in this thread to learn how to flash the boot.img with fastboot.

i sould stay with the atrix as its newer only thing the razr has is more internal storage as for the roms you can flash any of them really but i would stick with the newer roms.

All 4.2 ROMs have lag Most of it is gone in the CM10.1 nightlies (since the 5/25 build)

Honestly, there really isn't. Each rom has its own little quirky issues.
PAC has no gps and a goofy Hangouts crash, wifi doesn't like to connect after the screen comes on (turn off then back on)
AOSPA works fine for some, not for others, no wifi for some
Slim has no gps, radio signal is bad, random wifi disconnects (fix like PAC usually, sometimes needs reboot)
CM10.1 gps...
All may have occasional lag, wifi issues, gps issues, random bluetooth issues, no camcorder, no HDR camera -- regular and panorama work
Its hit or miss at the moment. One nightly will be fine, next has crap battery, next has better battery but image banding...
None of them suck, but they might not be for you if you dislike development roms that may be incomplete or have a bug or two. Really depends if the bug is a deal breaker or not.
I still go back to clean ROM or the 4.1.2 mex jb ROM everything works and the batt life is a lot better . Also you can install cwm through ROM manager in the play store . Just use the photon q version . I have been able to flash every ROM with it . Make sure you back up b4 you start installing ROMs .
