ok guys my galaxy s is borng...suggestions :S ?

Hello every one , my galaxy S i bought 2 weeks ago is boring , i was exploring the stock 2.1 Eclair update 1. i have no ROM , no lagfixes or any builds
just stock GTi9000
Frimware: 2.1 update 1
basband : i9000JXJG2
Kernal version 2.6.29, build number , EcLAIR.JPJG8
most versions i see on youtube , are with more advanced looking , i mean they don't have the boring " green phone " on the homescreen next to the orange contacts , and the messaging , then application ,

they have a grey semi transparent one and some how it looks like higher resolution and cleaner pic, every thing is stock here, and since i don't have market i strugle to get an app, but i downloaded a vending.apk file and i have the market too bad i have the starting download stuck bugg ( didn't fix it yet )
i was wondering if someone could tell me how to pimp my Samsung galaxy s i9000 ( international )
to get all these cool looking things and cool looking phone with the nice lock screen and big digital . thx in advance btw iam new to android mobiles and samsung galaxy s is my first mobile

Generally, people customize there Galaxy S 3 ways
1) Widget Customization - This includes downloading widgets and icon packs from the market. This will change the way the icons on the homescreen look and lets you personlize your homescreen with the info you want.
2) Launchers- There are a variety of home launchers available but the biggest two are LauncherPro and ADW. ADW comes with themes that can be downloaded from the market, some are paid and some are free. LauncherPro gives the option to resize widgets if you have the paid version. Each person has their own preference as to which one they use.
3) Themes and ROMS- These are the biggest changes to the phone and usually involve rooting and flashing the phone with odin. ROMS are altered software releases that have customized status bars, docks, wallpapers, etc. Same thing with themes but instead they replace some system files to alter the status bars and etc. This is more recommended if you're willing to spend some time learning about the phone. Offers the best "pimping" in my opinion.

That eclair build is the same build im using (Africa & ME Test Version) and have market working absolutly fine using market enabler for paid apps (ERIS Market Fix didnt help at all ) .
fix the market problem by doing the following
1- in the time settings, use 24 hour time format ( u can change it back after you finish)
2- in the dial pad, dial *#272*ur four digit time# (for EXAMPLE its 0846 now so u input *#272*0846# )
3- a menu will open, choose xsg then intall the market. (by install the market i mean click on the option down below to apply ur choice)
ps: this will wipe ur device, just make sure u backup before all this.
after this the phone will reboot like factory with the market icon available, downloads should work just fine.
after that u could tweak the phone with root + SU + lagfix
from there u could enjoy the market, install games/apps/whatever
i know i was bored with my phone without the market but after i got it working im almost always on the phone and with only 1 problem left to fix, Battery life

Galnet Miui V4 - Issue with theme downloads

Hey all ,
I have found myself with the awesome Galnet Miui ROM on my galaxy s - works like a dream except for 2 issues :
1) I can only download themes from computer and transfer to my phone - if I try to download them direct from the phone from the theme chooser they take forever - yesterday a theme was downloading for about 40minutes , reached 60% and just cancelled the download , same thing today - any fixes for this ? Would be good to get some when on the move , im not always next to my laptop
2) Every now and then I will get force closes of random things - theme manager - some system apps - downloaded apps - from memory I think I even had a force close of settings - never had this on the CM7 nightlies........ ( I have 8.50GB available space showing )
Any help would be much appreciated - I dont wanna leave this ROM , its amazing

Problem in Marvel ROM v. 4

Today I installed the latest Marvel ROM and when I try to uninstall an app from Application Manager this message pops

I tried reinstalling the ROM but still the same?
Anyone facing the same problem?

the problem is known for this rom, tantrums should fix this bug :
version 4.0
- visual integration to ICS for some apps alarm clock, calendar, browser etc. (reported in 3.0)
- new default boot animation by mdfaisal (he's a very good animator)
*Note: You can always put a bootanimation.zip of your choice in \data\local\ . Deleting the same will revert to the default bootanimation.

- added CRT off (requested in 3.0)
- added ICS animation (requested in 3.0)
Minor fixes reported in previous versions:
- fixed adding of groups in contact

- white font for some apps and power menu changed to navy blue.
*Note on v4 : FC on installing non-market apk's.

2. How to install simplicity v2
1) Download the rom . Place it on the sd card.
2) Boot in Recovery. (HOME+VOLUME UP+POWER).
3) Wipe data/reset, Wipe cache partition. Then go to advanced & wipe Dalvik cache.
4) Then choose zip from sdcard & Flash.
5) reboot & u r done.
3. steps to enable battery bar ------
steps---
. goto settings>cyanogenmod settings> JB Battery Bar >
. enable "show battery bar" if already enable then disable it and agian enable it.........
.lock ur phone using lock key
. unlock lockscreen then u will get ...........
.u can change animation of battery bar during charging
. usually use pulse up and down & animate mode--- accelerate and deaccelerate.....
. goto static color === click on hex tab and type this code --[/COLOR]ff33b5e5 [ to get ics color ]

the camera setting is very small,,and the wifi signal bar is not good..but over all is very very very good smooth and fast.thankz:good::good::good:

I can't choose any keypad, its just ICS keyboard. Can you add the option for 3x4 keyboard?
How to install camera.apk you posted at first post? Because it says APPLICATION NOT INSTALLED.

yes , its upto u what u want to do with this rom..........
use it in ur own way ...........
install anything but always take precautions ..................

u should read first that i have removed stock keyboard [ AxT9IME.apk ]
but u can install by urself by extracting it from other rom........

My phone don't boot!
I did all the steps to install the rom but whe i reboot the phone after select the "rom file" this don't boot! Stay in the black screen with the "Samsumg GALAXY Ace GT-S5830M" and the phone don't pass from there!

this is becoz u dont follow the steps carefully.....................
u have soft brick ur phone so flash stock rom using odin
- it happened to me almost 8-9 times during rom development bcoz that time i dont know the right procedure but now i have given that
so follow it carefully and install ur rom without any problem............
if u have any other problem or any other bug then tell me.....
i m always ready to help people.........

It doesn't work for me either and i followed the steps by the letter three times now...
the rom looks promising,so might give it another shot later.

The same... my phone doesn't boot! And I did ALL the steps carefully and with other methods too! like don't use the Formart EXT4 Format and using CWM...many ways to installed but the same result Soft-Brick!! So...i don't know what's happening!

Looks good well done but found a bug in the notification bar two wi-fi symbols?

I guess you mean the 3g/2g symbol. I noticed that those 2 symbols overlap
Anyways, the rom feels smooth for ics, but I dont really get the sense of that flashxter app. It does nothing, except for giving an error that it cant apply themes xD

ipernexus Download link is there at last lines..
And you must set the system partition to 180 or 190MB
For the best system space...
TMinh friend i build this from both Some icons from base some from source
miroslav_mm 's Kernel IceCreamSwift. other are mixed with all source
i have chosen everything what is best of it.. for this.
poolegooner wifi icon problem is not a fault it is done by me... because:
i dont use wifi but i like wifi icon to be seen so i replaced
"JellyBean wifi" icon as signal icon.
Moster2 "flashxter app" Iam Very sorry For this!
it is the base theme but i forget about its home launcher
Type "Panda 2 home/launcher " in play store and install it so you can get the theme.
Really iam so sorry for this. I will have a "fix" for this Soon as possible.
