A little to much bulk for me but I know some people love these... I plan to stick with the VZW TPU case and the holster for the shell case. They work well together...

Commuter $35
Love the otter but your exactly right I took a look at them and they are definitely bulky IMO. I just bought a cheap clear case on eBay. Looks good with the white razr m. Say no to retail!! Lol

The defender cases are a little absurd unless you work construction or are in a war zone but I have the Commuter case for the Galaxy Nexus and It feels like a solid part of the phone. It adds about a cm in all directions to it but it's really worth it if you want good protection and a really solid feel. It's really the first case I've ever had that felt like part of the phone.
Commuter for M Pics
Got the Commuter in last night, thought you guys might like some pics.
imgur.com/a/NuwBV (Can't post links yet, sorry. Just copy&paste.)
Overall Impression: Excellent case. Fits perfect in the hand, giving me a confident grip I didn't have with the naked M. It is the most painless install/removal of an Otterbox I've ever experienced; Simply line it up at the top, drop it down and it seats perfectly. The silicone used is so far not attracting any dust or other particles, and if it does they simply wipe off. Included screen protector fits well, however it had a bad case of rainbow banding in certain light (such as at my workplace) making it impossible to use there. Highly Recommended! :highfive:
Trident confirmed yesterday that they are producing cases for the M. One that interests me is the Aegis model. Its a competitor to the Otterbox Commuter and Incipio style cases. They will launch their line the end of this month or beginning of November. I just purchased the Boxwave Duosuit. Should be here Friday. I'll let y'all know how that one turns out.

Picked up a black commuter the other day. Really wanted the white one for my white phone, but they didn't have it, and I wasn't going to wait after seeing it in front of me.
Fits great, seems plenty protective, and the phone doesn't feel bulky to me. The black case leaves a little room where a "white line" from the white phone shows up, kind of a cool little accent. Would recommend for $35 for sure.

Honestly as odd is this may be to some people this is the case I'm personally excited, I bought for my wife for her iPhone and she loved it and it looked really good so I'm excited about it for the Razr M

any idea what the difference is between the defender case and defender hybrid case? The review on Otterbox's website says there is no built in screen protector just a adhesive protector for the screen. Can't seem to figure out if the hybrid has the screen protector like other defenders have?

I got the Defender about two weeks ago. Yes...the case is bulky but I do spend some of my work days on construction sites. I love the case.
My only complaint is the latches in the hard inner case. The top, bottom and USB side latches are all solid. Maybe it's because the volume/power button side only has 1 latch but it rarely stays latched. Fortunately, the outside rubber case keeps most of the free play of that side to a minimum.
Biggest complaint: cheap ass belt holster. Cheap material. Kick stand won't even stand up with the phone in the holster. I can't believe they use that as a selling point because it won't even come close to keep the phone from falling over. What a joke!! No lock on the holster latch and it would be EASY to bump the latch, allowing the phone to fall out. Very easy!
The holster is a joke in comparison to the Seidio clip lock holster that I had with my Blackberrys. Much better latch, a lock and better materials. I mostly keep the phone in my pocket because I'm scared of my phone falling out of the holster. The case is nice but it won't protect the phone if it falls15+ floors from one of my projects.
Good case. Terrible holster. Worth $35 instead of $50.

I have a CaseMate Pop! Case and I love it. It is hard shell with some softer rubber on the side for grip. Easy out of my pocket and not a lot of added bulk. A little pricey, but worth it.
Only gripe is the small piece of rubber on the right side where the HDMI slot is flimsy and not has a permanent bend in it. Other than that, awesome case!
I like the Kraken one. Well I like them both but the Kraken comes in various colors. I would like the Aegis in another color other than black.
Just got my case!!! Triton Aegis!!!! I love it! It is bulky and the screen portector that came with it wouldn't fit on phone it was too wide, besides that its great! Those are the only two cons!

Is the case a rubbery or hard and smooth plastic? I hate the body glove one bc it gets stuck in my pocket
I own the Trident Kraken and have for about a month now. I would give it a 7.5/10. Overall style is great. It looks really good (I have the blue one, wife has the pink). As for size it doesn't add too much bulk. I do not have the extended battery but assume it is less bulky than that is. All of the buttons work great. Sometimes if you press the volume button down tooooo hard it will press both of them. Both hdmi and usb are very easily accesible yet the silicone covers for them are very sturdyy. The only downfall I have for thewhole entire thing is the fact that it does indeed stick to my pocket. Now dont let that kill it for you. I have had phones that are like glue in your jeans (hehe) and this isnt like that. But it is harder to get out than just your average hard case.
Hope all of this helped. also it has a sweet kickstand that despite the amazon reviews works great.

Kraken 2?
Is the Kraken 2 thicker than this? Which would y'all suggest from personal experience?
I initially purchased this case:
gp/product/B00513JTOE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
It's cheap and will break if you attempt to remove it. It's also bulky and covers the LED notification.
I've since gone with this case:
Revolution-VS910-PureGear-Black-Slider/dp/B007W82V2S/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1338051595&sr=1-1-catcorr
I've been extremely happy. It's slim, sturdy, and has a nice rubberized finish that isn't overly sticky. Unfortunately, I think Pure-Gear has stopped production, as it's no longer on their site.
(de-linked because I'm a new member...you'll need to add "amazon" in the address.)
I got the Kraken II and its a nice case only disapointment was I also ordered the bike clip and it only works on the Kraken AMS. And they don't make a Kraken AMS for the Revo.
I dont understand why people like those huge cases. I have a hard rubbery case that fits very snug and is not huge. I dont want that huge thing in my pocket.
I have a regular soft gel case. I prefer these kinds of cases for my devices. It barely adds any bulk and it protects my devices quite well.

I ordered the Poetic since it was $5 on Amazon and I like the Poetic case on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I also ordered the official Samsung Protective Cover because of the 50% coupon off. I actually don't mind the thickness of the Poetic case but the lower right corner "lip" does not hold the phone tight enough. It needs to come up and over more like the front. However, it did not slip off the case while I was holding it upside down so the other 3 corners did a good enough job. The thing I like about the Poetic case is that when you snap the front cover shut, it will do a very good job of protecting the phone should it slip while you pull it out of your pocket. It does however, double the thickness of the phone.
The official Samsung case which is more like a TPU case also came in. It is very thin and I wish the front lip would rise a little higher to protect the front glass in case of a drop. Most of you might like it and think that it is thick enough. Anyway, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I am still waiting for this case to come in. I returned the official flip cover case since it was too thin and offers no drop protection.
I linked to that last flip case in another thread. I really like the way they've used the raised corner protection on the case. It looks like it should protect the phone no matter what angle a fall might impact on.
I'm eager to hear what you make of it once you've received it, along with a few photos of it on the phone, especially how much higher the raised corners rise above the screen. Tia

I ordered the Poetic slimbook case that released today. All the Poetic slimbook cases get great reviews on youtube for other devices. 4.95? The price was so cheap, I thought it was a mistake. The slimbook case looks very similar to the 50 dollar flip cases that are more stylish. Crazy deal. The hardbacks like this white one are ok..kinda generic plain looking.

Let me know how that one works out. How secure it holds the phone and more importantly, is there any protection at the top of the phone. Makes me want to order another one but I already have 2 cases plus one more coming and I only have one phone!

Aquaholik, any further feedback on the Poetic case? Would you recommend it?
My main concern is the added bulk, how is it for fitting in the pocket? Also how easy for removing? I might use the case for home use (to protect if kids use), and a TPU case when I'm out and about.
I have one ordered one from Amazon, but can still cancel as not shipped yet.

It is very easy to remove. No problem going in and out of my pocket since I wear slack pants most of the time. Jean pocket, forget it. I am neutral on it. It was $5, a bit thick, looks plain but offer good protection. I lay it against a flat surface on every angle and don't see any gap in drop protection. The stock case is nice but this is a big phone with lots of glass and that mm of raised lip isn't going to protect the phone when drop face down on concrete. So I am putting all my hope on the Ebay case. When I am out and about, the phone will stay in the poetic case.
Looking for a case with a kickstand for the Galaxy Note 2. Anyone know of such? So far the only one I've been able to turn up here is for the original Galaxy Note.

It's a cheap case that will protect your phone, but the quality of inner silicone shell is not that great. It's too stretchy and will pull around the sides, and it gets worth with time especially at the bottom where micro-usb connector is. Also because silicone is soft, buttons will be too easy to press accidentally. But what the heck, for this price - its a workable Seidio Active knock-off with a kickstand that won't make your phone as wobbly in landscape as Active Plus, you can put your finger through the kickstand opening as sort of a flygrip handle.
The best case ever. No extra bulk and feels good to the touch, a hard case but with a soft touch feel, comes with a kickstand too. Bought one for the wife's too. I usually dont use cases but this one is a keeper . Go try it edit- Comes with a belt clip too

originally bought 2 cheap case/holsters one of which is the cheap 3 part listed in the OP. First one broke, second(OP) as noted the soft rubber part doesn't fit well and it's too tight in the holster. Finally broke down today ad bought this one from BB. There is no comparison in quality, Everything on this case is worth the money.
For my past phones I've bought the Verizon kickstand holster case combos and I've loved them, but VZW didn't make one for the note2 and the cheap online ripoffs are crap. Spend the money, your Note 2 will thank you.

More pics in the post a pic of your case thread, and mybat jolt thread. Kickstand hinge and latch is a tad flimsy but I haven't had any issues yet, and I dropped my phone 42' from the 3rd floor roof of a house, landed face down on gnarly concrete and not a scratch. Luckily the flip cover flipped closed or the uneven concrete probably would have been able to make contact with the glass, which would have been a disaster.

Question
I am interested in buying this case but I don't like cases that stick to my pocket while pulling them out. Does this matte case have any problems?
I notice that there is a line/indentation around the back of the case - does this trap dirt/lint? I am wondering why they placed it there in the first place.
Thanks.

It goes in and out of my jeans pockets with no issues. If you wear skinny jeans, then I can't help you. It is remarkable to me how little dirt/lint stick to this thing. It is made of hard but flexible rubber, I haven't found anything sticking to it. Keep in mind, its a barely bigger than the phone and it does push up my screen protector in the lower left hand corner. My Spigen case didn't do that, but it made the phone feel huge to me.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. What kind of screen protector do you have? I have purchased Invisible Defender (screen protector) and diztronic case. Hopefully they wont cause huge problems.

It's just a cheap clear one from Amazon. This case really hugs the screen, it adds almost no width at all. Its not really noticeable unless I look for it, I wouldn't think you'll have huge problems.

Spigen cases always seem to add unnecessary bulk, especially width to phones with their cases. And their colored plastic backs scratch and swirl like crazy.
They are extremely overrated and overpriced imo.

Got my case for the Verizon G2 yesterday, another excellent case from Diztronic. Very nice fit, good texture, face protection and very slim.
Great value at $12.XX shipped.

Agreed.
Got one for my and the wifes phone....she prefers my Ballistic case (go figure) but the Diztronic is excellent and not bulky.
I might try the Incipio DualPro to see how it compares to the Ballistic.
Another shout out for diztronic. Perfect slim fit and just enough case for me. Mine surprisingly arrived in the mail yesterday. Great case at a great price!

Can you do side by side pictures and post them?
Just ordered this today!
For everyone wanting to get a screen protector that fits with this case, the Supershieldz screen protector from Amazon doesn't get in the way of the case if installed well (AT&T version).
I wanted something different from an Otterbox. It's a great case, you might not like the color, but it's available in a lot of varieties. It has dust filters over the speaker (a must for my job) and I got it from Amazon.

I've had that case on a few of my phones; Trident cases are top notch, and although they are somewhat bulky, they definitely protect your phone really well..

Yep, they're as bulky as an Otterbox. I get a small piece of mind knowing that I could throw my phone across the street if I wanted to and not get a scratch. :good:
that bottom picture you posted looks really cool; the red and black of your case matches nicely with the WallPaper on the phone:good:

I've always just used the standard black otter box defender on every phone since my Dell streak, but that is a HANDSOME case! would you guys say it's equally as protective? screen guard?

It doesnt have a built in screen guard, but they might include one when you buy the case..
Its not as gigantic as the Otterbox, but it protects in a similar way..

The Trident case comes with a screen protector. If you're going to buy an Otterbox, I would get the Commuter. The Defender scratches the hell out of the sides of your phone, because your phone is rubbing up against hard plastic the whole time. With the Commuter, it's the rubber part that goes around your phone, then the hard plastic shell goes around that.
The last Defender I bought absolutely ruined the looks of my old phone.
I've been running Trident for about 4 years now and always will look to them first.

I just got mine last Friday , and while this case is top notch it will probably go back to Amazon. One because of its size( it is bulky) and two the plugs for headphone and charging constantly pop open.

Nice looking case! Trident def makes 'em good, but why don't they make a belt clip holster? That I can see, Seidio isn't making an active case/holster combo for the flex, and Otterbox only has a holster if you go with the defender. So that leaves Ballistic. I have an otterbox commuter case, does anyone know of a belt clip holster that'll fit the commuter? When I had my Note II I got an aftermarket holster that fit my commuter case (that was given to me), but it seems this flex isn't popular enough to warrant the companies going all out for it. Unless I can find a holster for my OB communter case, I'll just buy a ballistic case/holster combo off ebay... amazon doesn't do well with shipping to Puerto Rico!
