[Q] how to install custom ROM AOKP M5

A friend of mine gave me his LG Optimus 2x phone to installed AOKP M5 based on ICS 4.0.4. Currently his phone is running on ANdroid 2.2.2. I rooted this phone with SuperOneclick program successfully. AFter this I installed ROM Manager but when I tried to flash it with clockwork recovery through ROM Manager, it failed and after boot, it went in infinite boot loop. I managed to break the boot loop by pressing power and lower volume button together. Now I am stuck and don't know to proceed further.
I have Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Moto Xoom and it was lot easier to install custom ROM.
I will appreciate your help with some instructions.
Hi. Try to do wipes; cache partition, factory; davlick (advanced) and reflash again the said ROM. What CWM version you have? I would suggest 5.0.2.8, I have no problems on it. I flashed several roms, CM7 and CM9.
Hope it helps.
If I understood you don't have cwm installed correctly.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18939518
Nvflash never fails.
And I'm not sure aokp works good on our phone, due to hard hacks necessary to run ics with outdated kernel sources concerning CPU and GPU chipset.
In case you can try Owain's unofficial builds not so far from aokp.

Are you on new bootloader when you tried to install CM10.1? (New Bootloader = LG with Red splash, Old Bootloader = Pure White LG letters with Icon) You must be on old Bootloader (For Gingerbread) before doing so.... I recommend you clean first the bootloader and partition using WKPARK's file and guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968280, APX Drivers can be grabbed here: https://www.box.com/s/c5d0e911cz9jhz3ab9y1 Credits to umar for reuploading. After that you will have to mount cleaned system on CWM and format your internal SD, then flash nightly rom patched by Wkpark's CM10 patcher so that buttons would work, and flash su660ics' provided kernel by a vietnamese developer here.
Well, thank you verry much for the info!
Anyway, now i`m back tt the stock ROM (GB 2.3.4).
But i still wanna instal CM10.1,or at least CM10 and i`m still wondering why the installation didnt work ??
I mean,i have followed 100% a tutorial on how to install CM10.1.
I tried once but the phone booted with the same ICS 4.0.4,then i tried again, the same result, and the last time when i tried i got stuck at that LG logo, but now its ok.
But how can i install CM10.1 or another version ?? I didnt do anything wrong...i think it didnt work because there are some problems that i`m not aware of...

Can't install ROM

Hello!
I tried to flash Nova HD,CM 7.2,CM 10.1 over the official ics from lg,the installation goes well but after i reboot the phone i see no changes, the phone is just the same.
Until now i've flashed lots of custom ROMs without any problems but i came back to the stock ROM,but now i decided to change again my ROM but it just won't work :|
I dont know what happened, the phone is rooted and all are set up but i just cant flash any rom.
I did like 5-6 attempts but the results are the same..
Can anyone help me ?
Just found out that Paranoid Android is working.
But i cant say the same for the others ROMs.
You can't flash CM7 over ICS. Both ROMs use different bootloaders!
Go to the Development forum and use the AIO Toolkit to flash back the old bootloader, then you'll be able to return to CM7.
Thanks!
But what about CM10.1 and Nova HD?
Did you do a full wipe (Factory reset + format /system) while changing from ROM to ROM?
Yes,i did it all the time!

[Q] Semi-bricked Droid 4 needs image for recovery mode

I made a mistake while installing Cyanogenmod on my Droid 4 and now the device . Safestrap is gone (please don't reply with "try pressing menu" stuff, there is no safestrap), everything else is gone.
It hangs on the Motorola logo on boot-up. I can get into recovery mode. I should be able to simply install a factory ROM from the SD card or ADB. Problem is, I can't seem to find one. Everywhere I look I find crap for the bionic or droid x or I find modified roms but I can not seem to find the signed factory rom for the droid 4. The few I've tried fail on the "verifying update package" screen.
Where can I get a signed factory rom that can be installed from recovery mode?
If it matters, my phone had previously run Motorola's Jelly Bean build but I don't care if it ends up being downgraded after this since I'll just root and install cyanogenmod. I had been trying to install cyanogenmod 10.1 RC2.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

You will most likely need to SBF your phone. That will get you back to completely stock.

You just need to use the Droid 4 Utility option 2.

but remember... you CANNOT downgrade once you have upgraded!!!
you will [non-semi] brick your phone! you will blow your eFuse!
if you have ICS you MUST have ICS or higher!
make sure you had atleast 25% battery... if not get the OTG cable from TBH

Clockworkmod can't flash roms

Hey all,
I've been searching all over for the solution to this problem and I haven't been able to find any sort of solution and all my attempts to google have been in vain. I've been having problems installing any rom from clockworkmod. I have a droid bionic with the system version, 98.72.22.XT875 the android version is 4.1.2. So I was originally trying to get the pacman rom on my phone. I flashed a clean jellybean rom from RSD and then I used bootstrap and rom manager to flash clockworkmod recovery. However every time I tried to install the pacman rom I get an error that says something similar to E: system cant find *blank* file. When I reboot my system after this the phone says that I've lost encryption and it wont allow me to access the phone anymore. So I tried downloading the cryogen mod off of rom manager and I had the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
You cannot use bootstrap with the jellybean firmware on a bionic, you must use safestrap. It is the only currently working recovery.
Clockworkmod doesn't work either (as far as I know.. Is there even a build for the bionic?)
Clean again with an fxz, root, install safestrap app, install recovery through the app, reboot to safestrap, create a ROM slot, install your ROM to that slot, and all should be good.
(The reason your attempts were in vain is because the boot loader is locked, thus some boot-time patching and workarounds must be done)

Safe strap works great. Boot manager is supposed to work also, haven't tried it yet.
