This, so far Roms have always been faster and better updated than official updates.
I don't even want to think about how badly made an LG Official ICS Rom could be :S
I have the NS4G and my wife has an LG Optimus S...Terrible stock. Gotta get that thing rooted. LG roms are doodoo. Her phone hard reboots itself at least 3-4 times a week.
Our O2X is based on Tegra 2. It seems that most tablets that run Honeycomb are also based on the same SoC. And that ICS is a merger of GB and HC.
Also Google promised that ICS will be open to developers (HC is not)
What do I mean?
That there is a possibility that the community will be able to make a descend ICS for our phone, as they will have their hands on all ingredients.
For stock LGs ICS, I really doubt...
At this rate, probably not
Cough.. cm9.. cough
Cyanogen will 99.99% likely have it for the O2X eventually, they said at the android bbq that it will take them probably around 3-4 months after ICS release to get the first nightly out for any devices, and it won't be long after that for the O2X hopefully!
ya'll waiting for ice cream sandwich for the O2X?? im giving my O2X to my dad and in getting myself a nexus prime/galaxy nexus.

Hi I just want to know if someone has any news from HTC or is following other device's thread and just want to share something that might be interesting to us. It's so sad that development is on hold for a while but let's hope that official ICS release will bring back activity of developers. We need them!

I have tried both sense and aosp ics, but I still keep coming back to sense 3.5 gingerbread, either affinity or trinity sensation xl.
Because there are some glitches, bugs and things not working, I will stay on gingerbread. And I like sense But the features and improvements in the ics roms look very promising, I liked sense 4 very much
Just make a nandroid backup and flash it, then go back to your backup when you are bored lol
I like to go back to a stable rom where everything works
I'm currently running IceCold Sandwich 7.2 and the truth is I'm in love with AOSP/AOKP ICS. Since I bought my IS I've been always a huge fan of Sense recently I flashed back one of Sense 3.5 roms but it's something that don't surprise me anymore. Given that I'll stick with AOSP until the day HTC decides to come out with something great for us.

i do hope TX will update to KLP os
or someone would port it to TX
for now, the most likely official version TX will get, i think, it's 4.2

hmm 4.2 would be nice for my T, I'm sure we won't get 5.0, I'm not even convinced that we get 4.2 because it's late now and I don't know if they work on 4.2 anymore when 5.0 is out...

Well, next update will not be 4.2 ( or the chance is very low). If there will be only fixes for 4.1.2, we'll get 5.0 on Christmas xD

Err, no last week was the 14th, now this is Week 15 already.
Looking at how Sony handled updates before, I've got a feeling that 4.2 would be the last. But yeah, we'll never know at this point since Sony is somehow changing its policies(?), and at least we may get KLP. Hopefully, lol.

I reckon that Sony have come a long way since the x10 fiasco, so I think we'll the next iteration, just as they jumped froyo they'll jump 4.2 seeing as some of their proprietary features already cover some of the stuff in 4.2. As such I reckon that the next iteration of android will be announced, Sony will announce a new batch of phones and a new flagship, then the Z and that series of phones will be announced to receive the update, but we'll get the update after their. Anyhow, if we don't it's relatively straight forward to port it due to similarities between the devices for some devs.

Was the biggest part of the Jelly Bean update not the fact that we also go a 3.4 kernel? That was a huge update from the last kernel. I dont see why Sony would put that much effort in for it to not be a base for future updates. Jelly Bean could have easily run on the old Kernel but possibly not KLP. I see that some xperia devices are not getting the Kernel update in their Jelly Bean package, This is me seeing a way to distinguish which devices are getting dropped for the KLP update. Xperia T V and TX are almost certain to get the 5.0 update but looking at sort of Xperia S Jelly Bean time frames unless the delay for Jelly Bean was due to them setting up a proper base on the kernal to make the push to new version much smoother.
hello, im a new xperia v users here. i hope u all welcome me in this forum. just to mention that
Well just had a look into the sony site to see which firmware version is the newest hand the T isn't listed anymore! The list goes from S to tipo and then to the U.
Anybody an idea what's going on?
Since the last information from Sony was that an update was expected during week 14:what::what:
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
Meanwhile 9.1.A.1.190 is available for the V in some regions.
If TX gets 4.2.2 around Google I/O, it is possible to get KLP by the end of the year. I don't think KLP needs quad core, 2gb ram etc. to run. The important thing is how the market devision will decide. Commercial factor must affect the final decision.

Gasai is right. There's no point in this. Every user's opinion would either be 4.2 or 5.0. Final decision comes from Sony.
Humans have evolved to be smarter, but there's one thing we can't get rid off. It's human stupidity.
While looking at this website: http://www.android.com/kitkat/index.html I found this:
Could this mean Google is tackling their fragmentation? If so, would 4.4 come out to ALL devices ? Also to 4x HD ? Would LG skip 4.2.2 / 4.3 and update to 4.4 ? love to hear your thoughts and opinions about this. Off topic posts welcome too
No no no no no no no and, finally, NO :banghead:
Em.. we're talking about LG They've abandoned our phone and they also have a bad reputation about updates. We didn't even get 4.2.2 and won't get anything new that will come out. I personally don't care.. we have GREAT devs that are keeping our phones updated to the latest versions of Android! Because of them, our phone won't die soon! It's really a shame for LG because Optimus 4X is a hell of a phone with good hardware and everything!
Android 4.4 is nothing more than a marketing operation. I do not think that this update will add a lot of new feature to our phone. I guess it is a minor update just like 4.3 or even less.
Why should we count on LG now ?
We have the official support of the CM team, PAC team, MIUI team. We have a lot if great devs who ported ALL the best ROMs for our phone.
If Android 4.4 is released we will get it with cm10.3 (maybe ?) So do not think about LG anymore since we do not need LG.
Anyway to come back to the discussion, I believe that this update won't be that important. However I'm impatiently waiting for Android 5.0 (if there is no 4.5 before...) because I think that this will be a great and important update, just like 2.3 to 4.0.x

Indeed it is relative, but I don't agree on Broadcom being the worst. The BlueDroid stack to which Google swapped BlueZ in Android 4.2 is now under the Apache license. It was a commercial project before. LG and nVidia doesn't provide anything, just what they have to (i.e. the Kernel).
