Understanding Guides/Tutorials by Developers. - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hello fellow LG P880 users. I know we've come across problems like this many a time. We all know that we love our developers, but some of them come with hard to understand english. This is why, I am volunteering myself to help your guys understand some guides made by these developers.
Guides/Tutorials I've gone through and successfully performed.
Flashing kdz file Guide (~Isaac)
Rooting Guide (alexp999)
Installing CWM Touch Guide (Dexter_nlb)
Installing Deodex App/Framework Guide (sombooms)
Installing Camera Mod Guide (ksekhar and somboons)
I have been stalking the 4X forums like a hawk, because lil-old-me couldn't figure out why my account wasn't activated. But now it is. Anyway, during that time of silence, I spent several hours combined, raging at new people who didn't understand these guides and kept getting bootloops. Thus, I made a promise to myself, to provide you guys with some help you guys might need when reading guides made by Developers whose 1st language is not English.
I would like to note that the guides I've listed above, I have tried and tested successfully on a V10f Euro Open firmware.
I would most probably add more content to this thread, but for now, if you have any trouble understanding the guides listed above, feel free to send me a Private Message.
I will be going around the General, QnA, and Development forums daily, answering questions.

How i can root my LG P970-V20a???

Hi! How i can root my LG-V20a. I have official firmware for Baltics. Thanks for any solutions.
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA
First of all, since you're new to this board please read the Welcome To The LG Optimus Black Section..... (Please Read If You're New)
Also, read the [HOW TO]The Big N00B how-to! since it will answer most of your questions.
Second, if you would have searched you would have found your answer already, but i'll help you (i'm in a good mood today ).
So, for general Rooting look at [Q] How to root P970 Gingerbread V20N it's vor the V20N version but it mostly applies to any version.
Regarding the question (that will follow soon) how to flash the firmware, look at THIS
P.S. if i manage to find a patched V20A i'll post here, for now i only found V20B, V20N , V20E and V20O that are patched and rooted.
I try all root app, and no one work with me, always access denied.
OB 2.3.4 V20a
Please help

All the information required was supplied in the second post - plus there is a Q&A area where you can get help after you've done your homework!

How to root?

Telus LG optimus Black
Android version 2.2.2
LG-P970G-V10A
Tried using Superoneclick computer freezes on Very first step 3.
did you know, that the best netuser's friend is........research ? don't you wonder if one of previous of hundreds users asked for this before you ?
From what i searched came up with nothing pertaining to this phone.
Ive done phones before this but no LG product.
oh com'on, that means you didn't search well in this p970 forum. at least google should do it, but whatever, take a look at my thread or nooby's one in general section
Found a lot of dead links, phone seems hard for a lot of others. I got it though using LG Esteem ROOT.
Could not find a lot of other files to try. Gingerbreak which alot used just found bad links or ones that wanted to install other programs.
nice.
if you found dead links, you could report them to their respective authors. just know that you can find every needed things in the kit I provide. also, take a look at my shares (link in signature)
Is your post the one i saw it said to use "Gingerbreak"? cause i could not find that link either. Unless it was under a different name?

It seems you have a lot of research to do, by reading through the various stickies in General and Development, and posting questions in Q&A.
Hi, you can find more information here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105
I recomend you BlackJack to root your device.

Rooting: Pros, backup/restore and best apps

Hello guys!
I currently own an Optimus 4x, which is not rooted. I have, however, flashed to 10H.
First of all. I have read many many threads about rooting and many other things.
BUT, i haven't found many resumed threads. everything seems to be scattered around the forum.
And i am having a lot of trouble with my battery. It seems to end too fast, and i've been reading around the forum and found out that many people are having the same problems. But i can't seem to find an actual solution. So i guess rooting is the way to go first of all.
And i have some questions:
First: What worries me the most.. Let's say i have 10H rooted and with all my apps backed up by some titanium pro thing and (god(lg people) hear us) jelly bean comes out. Now, when i flash the jelly bean update i will have to do factory wipe, flash, root and factory wipe. Now everything is gone. So now i will have to freeze/unninstall bloatware, install my apps, reconfigure my system settings, re-arrange my home screens and everything else? And what about the settings and things i backuped up with my "titanium proish" app? Will they work the same even though i updated the firmware? When i say jelly bean, i'm just exagerating. Let's say its a 10I firmware.
Second: What can i backup and restore? What apps do that?
Third: What are the great advantages/uses for a rooted optimus 4x phone? And what are the best apps to do those things
Fourth: Are there good free root-needed apps to do those things?
Fifth: What is the best app to underclock our phone? Is it safe? Do you guys use it? And what about the battery calibration thing. Do you guys use it?
I know most of these questions have answers somewhere. Don't bother answering if you don't want to. I just thought to make a good thread on those topics which i have always had questions about. And obviously this would be a topic directed to the optimus 4x. It's just that people don't seem to give the same answer to the questions. So i usually am not sure of what to do. Anyways, if there is some good thread on it, please point it out to me.
Thank you!!

Yes, yes, yes.
Almost everything. (Almost)
You can "tweak" your phone, you can hack games with gameguardian (like a cheat engine)
Yes, if you can find them. Titanium backup pro is still the best for most things.
Don't bother about those (insert nasty word here) now. Its not the time yet.

You joined XDA 4 days ago and you have already created three threads to ask very basic questions. XDA is not a helpdesk for noobs - you will get help with genuine problems, but you need to either use the search function on XDA, read and learn or use Google for the basics. Everything you need to know is already out there, please don't expect people to constantly repost the same information over and over just because you are too lazy to put the effort in yourself.
