Hi all,
i just tried to install the ics rom v30c on my p990 (su660), no problems on the installing with smartflash,
but when i want to turn my phone it gets stuck on the lg bootlogo, so i thought this rom is only for the su660, why does this not work??
so i checked my phone again, under the battery is written: made in korea... so this is a su660 right?
so people can someone tell me wheres the fault?? ^^

Wow you were trying to install SU660 ROM on P990? Nice idea m8, I'm convinced if you try it again (maybe take the latest .kdz from today) it will work! Don't forget to perform a full wipe and format your SD cards before. At your own risk of course, but hey maybe you are the guy who can finally tell us if the su660 ROM works on our p990s ! :good:
But seriously, if you don't even know if you own a P990 or a SU660 you shoudln't be flashing around and instead inform yourself a bit better before you start doing this.
If your bottom buttons look like this you have a SU660 (which I believe you don't have)

It's only the SU660 if it has two capacitive buttons and one physical button at the bottom.
The p990 has 4 capacitive buttons below.
Sigh, another bambi (no offense) on XDA developers who found out one of the only ways to potentially fully brick his phone. Have you tried nvflash and smartflash? You could have averted this by googling su660 but....

I flashed my phone to CM7 today, after that i wanted to flash MIUI..
That didnt work out, so i flashed back to standard to repeat the rooting and flashing to a slim rom..
Now i have an LG Logo flashing through my background, has anyone experienced this ?
If so, pleeeeease tell me there is a fix for it
Dont get it. Screenshot, picture or video?

Sorry to dissapoint you, but thats not it
I think its gone now though, after a few (read as 20/30) reboots....
Yeah I had this ghosting first few boots of new baseband, i posted under:

I'm guessing no1 else saw this, but my experience was it went away by itself after a few reboots. Testing i'm fairly sure it was from pulling the cable while the lg+face image was still on screen after the baseband was flashed successfully.
Nothing to really worry about imho.

You see the same thing when accessing the phone through a VNC server using the framebuffer. You don't see the desktop here though, just the LG logo.
It's because Tegra does not use the framebuffer to display things. But somehow in your case the framebuffer DID get displayed in the background... somehow?!
it is gone after about 10 reboots
This happend to me a couple of times. When im going back to stock rom thats when its happening but it dissapears after a couple of restarts
Just wanted to report that I just got the same artifact after updating to baseband 0405. Still panicking... Hope it goes away...
EDIT: Seems to be resolved after 2 reboots and/or brightness change.
I'm having the same problem after upgrade to the leaked V20o. I tried to restore to V20m and the issue still continued. I tried to restore to V10f and I still have problem.
I rebooted the phone more than 20 times and nothing.
Does anyone know how to solve this??
Posting on behalf of a friend. Here goes:
0) Yes, we've read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105
1) Stuck on V20C. The official LG update utility says this is the most up-to-date version.
2) Have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442588
3) Have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480392
4) Have tried method on Cyanogenmod wiki.
Nothing worked. Is there a method that's confirmed to work for V20C out there, or have we just screwed up something? Attempting to eventually install Cyanogenmod.

indeed you can't downgrade using LG updater.. no problem, friend, here's your solution..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
1. download the v10a firmware
2. install the firmware using SmartFlash Tool
3. root the v10a using blackjack
4. install ROM manager, and from there, install CWM
5. you can use the CWM recovery to install another custom ROM
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566532 by the end of it you'll have your version ready to flash and root at your will

Ah, thank you very much.
We weren't aware that the methods for V20C and other V20 firmwares were interchangeable - after several failed attempts and several more perusals through XDA we were beginning to suspect that V20C was unrootable as nobody seemed to mention this version.
Glad we were wrong, now happily running CM7. Phone is reportedly much faster and responsive now. Thanks for the help!

Hi everyone,
I have been running a custom GB ROM for some time, it worked perfectly this morning, made a phone call that lasted for like two mins, few hours later I get back on my phone, and it shows "Invalid SIM Card".. I tried rebooting several times, it asks for PIN Code, and then it just shows an X on the statusbar at the network service.. This is what I have tried besides rebooting the phone 9999 times:
Installing [ROM] NVFlash Opti-3D v-1.4.4 V20s Stock GB Clean CWM | UNBRICK
Installing [ROM][Stock][ICS] LG P990 Stock ICS flashable zip by harsh & tonyp (based on v28g)
Installing [NOV20][ROM][STOCK] Gueste2X "GoodBye" v2.0R - ultrasmooth [HYBRID][UNBRICK][RAMHACK]
Installing like 5 different BB's.
Installed the Euro Open original firmware from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
Everything results in the same: Asks for PIN Code, and then an X at the network service..
Really need some help!
Thanks.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have tried my SIM Card on another phone and it worked perfectly.
Try out a different RIL.

Same issue
Strangely, I have the exactly same problem! I dont think that it's a RIL problem since other SIM card worked!
But, i'll try!
One of my customers had the same issue once and I fixed it by just fully wiping his phone and reflashing CM7. Maybe that'll resolve your problem. If not, make sure your SIM card is placed correctly in your phone. Sounds stupid but who knows..

Thanks man... I'll do that!

Just so you all know, I have had this issue before too. Flashing a new baseband, a new ROM, anything with Smartflash or NVFlash will NOT help. This is the only thing that will help:

Good luck.
Thanks man, will do that today and get back to you with the result!!

after i killed my last p970 and had to send it back to the seller for repair i now ask help to avoid killing another one
see the old thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288081
the new device is:
baseband : XMM6160
version : V20c 2.3.4
i want to use ics on, would prefer CM but i understand video doesn't work good on it
I found that official ics is better than cm10,10.1
However according to update use official lg app it's the best to upgrade to official ics

http://www.cultofandroid.com/64013/lg-g3-keyboard-ported-android-devices/
i tested it on the latest kk cm11 by tonyp (i included the files from the keyboard zip into the modifyed rom zip and flashed everything together through twrp on o2x on clean device)
for aditional instructions please see the original thread from the LG G2 forums
thnx 2 @bender_007 and @Cloudyfa for porting it first...

LG O2x[P990]@TapaTalkPro v4.6.2
It is strange but i downloaded its apk but system didn't recognize it as apk file. Said: can't open file. I'm using Paranoid Android 4.45. Tried to flash the zip one via recovery but failed too. I'm using twrp 2.7.1.0.

I did it!
I included the files from kb zip into cm11 rom zip and flash it. No need to wipe anything.
Thanks!
