Is my headset broke? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. Please, forguve me if do in wrong place and with the same previous question cos i am a newbie. I rarely use headset but this morning i used it in the phone call but i realised that i just only hear the sound from the other side on calling. I can not control the button on the headset. It mean that i can only hear the sound but can not receive the phone call, end the call or even can not volume up or down while listening music. So what is the problem? How can i fix it? Actually, it is a new headset and i never use it after buying it. One more thing, i plug it into my brother phone and it work fine, no problem at all.
What should i do now?

Earphone problem

Hey guys i have froyo 2.2 and only earphones without mic are usable
Even my stock handsfree are not working...it gives sound like in water
Is this because of android 2.2?

Try upgrading using kies to the latest firmware this should remove any user data and will give you a better ROM aswell

Will i get my problem solved by this?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
Probably, even if not its a lot easier to fix a problem on gb (as that's what most people are using)
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
okay i am flashing to gb today and then want to go ahead to ICS
Okay do you want a pure Google ics (no add ons like Samsung touchwiz and stuff) or a Samsung themed rom?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
I dont have my demand except for stability and better battery life with no bugs

I would recommend this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687727 this is the one I'm using I've overclocked and undervolted and the battery and performance is very goof there are some very minor bugs but nothing noticeable unless your really anal about it

Do you mean can't? And when you say doesn't work what exactly doesn't work? No sound at all or distorted sound? If there's some noise try pulling it out slowly to see if there's a point where it works, and try a different pair of headphones.

If you need some pure ICS then I would recommend team-nyx (ICSSGS)

How long have you had the phone? Sounds like there's a connection problem, if it still has Warranty you could flash stock rom and send it back although you could try putting a cotton bud in carefully or give it a blow if you have no warranty you could buy a new Jack online there not expensive and not hard to fit just look on YouTube (remember never force things unless instructed to)

Look like i9003 doesn't have a Wolfson audio chip. You can use Beats audio or DSPManager to custom your output, but are sw based equalizers while Voodoo activates high performance hw stuff, like 128x oversampling.

Well it's not a hw issue - it's simply different. Check out the Voodoo app description at Google Play.

I see . But without the chip, the quality of sound is bad.I am crazy. about the music. So does the 9003 have other chip which is similar to Wolfson?

Good installing a antivirus slow down ur fone n tke lots of memory
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
Just to give my opinion : if you know what you do and are sure about what you install, no need.
But in other cases it can be useful : I installed Avast! on my mom's phone (Galaxy Ace) and it doesn't slow her phone nor sucks more battery life. Like that I'm sure she's not going to make any mistake and also it offers the possibility to install an anti-theft part.
So you and only you know in which case you are.

[Q] My S3 mini turns itself off when listening music

Hi everyone.
This is my first post here. As you might know the S3 mini has very little internal memory so my problem is that I pretended that using external SD card for my music would be enough. So I usually commute to the office listening some music but some day when I was about to get to the office (it's like an hour or a little bit less of trip ) my phone suddenly turned itself off. My phone is not really old neither does it the SD card provided in the box.
Does anyone here have ever experienced a sudden shutdown listening to music or videos?
My guess is that the SD card is the problem but I'm not completely sure, also it was provided by Samsung so how could I get a better SD card for this purpose? Is there another problem I have missed?
Please tell me. Thanks in advance.
PS: My phone uses the stock rom with JB 4.1.1 and the device is no more than 2 months old.

I think Wanam Xposed has options for using the volume buttons for track skipping. Root is required for it.

It Works. I foolishly forgot to set the application. My old Phones just kind of worked. Still in Wanam set the option to yes in the sounds option. The use pbmc to set the buttons and applications.
