If you are looking for a decent camera app and you dont find nothing good, you should try this one.. No, It Does not over wright the original stock camera, it will install as a normal app...
ITS READY TO FLASH THRU CWM so dont worry about making it flasheable !!
If you flash it and you didnt get it, just go and copy the apk and paste it in the folder called apps founded in the folder SYSTEM and just flash again..should be installed
Bugs Known Is That The Camcorder does not record 720p...Use Stock Camcorder Instead..Soo Coming to the bug, i dont know how to fix it, if anyone knows, we (users) will be very proud :

There is an already working version. I found it at general android apps and games section i think.

Miui camera apk
The original file doesn't have updater scrpt so added it
and tested it to work on foydor's FroYo AOSP(2.2.2_r1)
so can be flashed with clockworkmod
camera app is good with bigger view

How is does this differ from the one that StevenDeb is already working on?

i read in the thread for his GB miui build that its based on a february build.....?
and that some of the menus were in chinese.....?
i doutb this build is as polished as steve's, but worth a shot for a review maybe

Yes I tried it but too many things were in chinese. Don't have anything against chinese except that I can't read it. lol

this one is actually good.
many bugs in stevendeb' build are nonexist.
The voice search works, you can mount both sdcards to pc without resorting to 3rd party apps,
, there's also a 3rd option with usb mount: portal and tools (though i didn't fig out how to use it),
and led colors option (didn't test).
the downside is the font, unwanted built-in apks, no ics western latin ime (only one moto ime with english support ), and no change logs.
It should come with aroma installer like steven's.
didn't go deep with this rom yet. I hope others give it a shot when have time.
btw, pls upload to a better host(such as multiupload), depositfiles is really slow here.

Hello Xoomers,
Here I am going to provide you with Android 4.2 Keyboard ported to XOOM which has a very nice feature: Swype typing
Gesture and swype typing is present in this keyboard.
Note: Since currently I am on CNA ROM, I was able to test it successfully on CNA ROM but I believe it should work the same on any other ROM as long as the updater script takes care of installing the new app with its libs, removing the old one.
How to use swype typing?
1) lets say you wanna type the workd "Android".
2) just swype your finger on the letters [a, n, d, r, o, i, d] in a raw.
3) you will see the word has been typed already.
Pre-Requisites:
Rooted XOOM
Custom Recovery, TWRP advised.
How to use?
Download the flashable zip from the download section.
Place it in your internal or external SDCARD.
Boot into Recovery.
Choose the zip.
Flash it.
Reboot.

I am sorry, I just came to know that this keyboard has been ported already by other teams. It is my bad that I didn't search before I posted.
All what I did is that I got my hands on 4.2 ROM and tried to port it to XOOM. So, I think I am going to ask the Moderator to close this thread.

[Q] What kernel should I use with Cyanogenmod

Hi,
I recently flashed my Note from the stock ICS to CyanogenMod (I cheated and used the app). I have then updated to the latest nightly release and all is looking good, however, I am wondering if I am running the correct Kernel version, or if there is a better one that I should be using.
Also, where can I download a safe version of the Google Play Store apk?

Hi, yep that's great thanks. I just put that in there as an after thought, hadn't done a search I know newb sorry.
I was more concerned about the kernel question as I feel that's a little harder to search for when I am not entirely sure what I am looking for. When I initially rooted the phone I believe the "rooting" method I used installed a custom kernel, and then by the looks of it the cyanogen app has now updated it to a version they supply. Just wanted to know really, if this kernel is the best to be running on my N7000.

Yes, for rooting a custom kernel WITH recovery got installed for the rooting. If you flash an update for your CM Rom you will automatically get also a new kernel which should fits fine. Or do a search and you will find some nice alternatives, but be shure it' for your Rom!

[APP] MotoInfo

Well, few days ago I was bored, so I decided to develop this very simple app which can be an altenative to that "Hardware information" section under "About device" you can find in stock rom.
There also is an option ("Dump all the properties!") which makes a file called "getprop.txt" which lists device's properties; useful to developers when they have to bring up a device tree for building custom roms for a new device or when they have to add the support for a new variant of that device. You can find this file under /sdcard/Android/data/org.alberto97.motoinfo/files/getprop.txt (I have choosen this path because it doesn't need root access and it is always availaible).
This app should work on every Moto/Motorola device (It works well on my 1st and 3rd Moto g).
N.B.: "Manufacture Date" field is available only on those roms which include this commit. Else if you have root access, you can see it from /proc/config/date/ascii. Still not sure why Motorola took another longer (and not working) way in stock rom.
