Did it ever make calls? If so, what have you done to it that would make it stop?

GMATE
Hi try GMATE its a third party device that could give you calling features.. Try skyroam.com

yes.
I see you joined, just to post this question. Yet, the solution to voice calling was found in the last 1-2 monts, and actively discussed in various threads. So I'm going to conclude that you didn't read around or search.

Try to search next time. :banghead:
But for once i'll give you the answer

It worked perfectly for me

To me this rom is fabulous.
If you take away the i9100 modem and you put yours back delete voice calls but still works really well and super fast.
I made a backup with the original modem and another is that of voice calls and so, when I do the restore voice right already.:good:

You don't need a new rom to make calls
You can use Google Voice combined with one of the VOIP connector program in market such as GrooVe IP. I have a tasker script (it's not required, just helpful) I run that will switch my Google Voice forward from my cell to my tab when I want to only carry my tab. My tab has LTE so I can do this at will. If you have WiFi only it will work fine anytime you have a network connections.
I don't understand why people call you names here. Being new is not a crime and search here is problematic at best. For some reason a few people need to trash everyone.

He wasn't calling him anything. :banghead: is an emoticon and if you see it on your mobile XDA/Tapatalk it shows as a stick figures head profile against a brickwall. but I can see where you would think that though.

I understand but don't see the difference. Sometimes around here it seems that people spend more time insulting new people than helping them and the only way I know to reduce it is to report it. Just saying....

Its not an insult. The emoticon is just an emoticon you know.
I for example use google to search if i dont find it on xda. And sometimes i find it via google at XDA where the search of xda itself left me in the cold and sometimes i find it somewhere else.
This one i found on another site (cant remember wat site it whas) with a link to the thread on xda
P.S. And if you look at my profile you will see i'm new too.

More than once I've found things on one machine then went to another machine and couldn't find my way back with search. I now make comments at times just so I can get back. I don't like subscribing to lots of stuff.

My data connection is being retarded

Alright so sometimes (like right now) it'll say that I'm connected to 3G, but Facebook wont work, neither did Tumblr, nothing. And almost every time I turn off airplane mode, mobile connection wont even say 3G or 2G, and won't work. Then I have to reboot my phone which is really getting f**king old. Wat do? Btw, running Cyanogenmod.

Try the obligatory:
Wipe davlik/cache
Try out new radio
Update PRL
wipe and do a clean install of a rom
(not specifically in that order, just w/e you feel like doing first)
Also, nandroid before if you do those.
You could also try dialing *18 send this will automatically connect u to the nearest tower mine kept jumping around to about four diff towers it would break my data connection and when I did that it fixed the, issue

This is a community forum, so... it's give and take. Also, there is SO much information, a search (more often than not) will give you the results you want... Be nice!

Tachometer App

This is my first post and I would like to say hello to everyone on the forum and thank for the wealth of valuable information that is here.
I would also like to share the application that I recently found that solved one of my needs on all my Android devices.
It's called Tachometer and it adds a speedometer to Google Navigation. Its takes a few minutes to fine tune it but it is exactly what Google Nav needs.
Hope this helps and keep up the great work!

No, that is not the case. This is a function that a lot of people have asked for from Google Nav. I thought this might be the appropriate place to tell others about it but I guess its not.

This has to be the best app. Does it come with a universal cable that I can hook up to my vehicle? I mean how else would it be a tachometer. It's going to tell me my rpm's right?

Bluetooth Voice Dial? Anyone!?!?!

Hey gang,
I'll admit, I'm a total noob when it comes to XDA and the whole world of Android modding in general but I have a pretty simple question to ask. Does anyone know of a WORKING Voice Dial.apk or free voice dial app that will work with a bluetooth headset? I live in Ontario Canada and it's law here that we cannot use our phone while driving unless it's with a handsfree (i.e. Bluetooth device.) Normally I wouldn't care but I'm a delivery driver by trade so this feature is EXTREMELY important to me.
I've tried several great roms and my thanks to all the devs on here for all the time and effort spent on them, but, if I don't get a working app soon or a way to port a working .apk I'll have to go back to my old phone as I can;t afford the $500 fine if I get caught. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards..
Couldn't you just use Google voice? Unless you don't have data.... the other thing is that I haven't even tried it myself, I thought I might suggest it other than that, I'll have to do some searching

Thanks for the response!! Unfotunately no Google Voice still requires you to handle the phone to start it as well as requires a subscription to actually call phones. It's kind of like skype that way. I just wish samsung hadn't excluded it from the original firmware as I really do like the phone other that that one issue. Problem is that's a REALLY big issue for me. As I said, any help is definitely appreciated.
Grr, I think Samsung finally got the voice dialing on the S2 and S3.... but I digress
Try Voice Speed Dial on the Google Play Store. It costs around $3, but it's something to start with. Reviews look OK, but I haven't tried it (too cheap to pay the moneys lol).

Thanks for the video. Friday's almost here!
I didn't realize they put the power button on the top left. That's a weird spot to put it...I do like that they put the proximity sensors on the left side of the front. That is a major design flaw on my s3 at the moment (every time I'm on a phone call and I try to swipe down notifications, screen will turn off since it registers my thumb.)

This was the same problem with the EVO 4G LTE. I'd always end up tripping the proximity sensor when I swiped down the notification bar during calls and what not. I like the new position, and it adds a little more industrial aspect to the overall look of the handset.

Yeah, just fixed that. That was my fault. I meant if you want to know more about the phone, I'll be happy to answer questions. I've been typing a lot today. I think it's time to take a break from the computer.

Because of the curved back, I'm guessing it's a bajillion times more comfortable to hold in your hand, no ?

explicit, how is that battery holding up?
Also, it might be a network issue, but my LTE would have trouble with incoming texts that are more than 160 chars. So I would receive the 2nd text first, then the initial text would come in second. (When one long text gets broken down into 2). I was wondering if the One did this too.

XDA Pro App - laggy and slow

This app is always really unresponsive, especially in first use. Trying to scroll a page can cause freezes for a few seconds.
Not seeing this with any other function. Stock Google factory build with Franco kernel running stock settings.
I bought the app for simplicity and speed over having to use a browser but the browser is normally faster?
Ideas?
Its junk and I would never pay for it. I prefer XDA desktop in Dolphin browser!
XDA app is really weak. You can try tapatalk, but it's also slow while scrolling, etc. Just poor coded apps from what I've been told. You can try tweaking your system to improve performance in the app, but it won't be perfect.
aosp browser with xda only, no apps needed nor wanted. always fast this way
I've said a million times the only reason I use Tapatalk is because there aren't any alternatives. XDA app is pretty much the same thing.
I cant complain about app, its works, notification works fast, no problems, sometimes kinda slow loading, but never crash
Good to know. Surprising given the skill of many people on this forum, a simple app like this should be perfect..... They have my money so too late for me! Back to the browser.

Tapatalk isn't made by XDA. The XDA app is also just a branded and licensed Tapatalk client. No apps are "perfect" either, regardless whoever created it.

Not sure if it can be considered as a serious alternative but give a try to Forum Fiend. I didn't test recent updates but the user experience was slightly different compared to Tapatalk.

Its just that there are hardly any good alternatives. Most forums apps you can find will be based on the Tapatalk API anyways, too.

Can't come fast enough. I do have a feature request for XDA One. I want it to data mine all the links I press and send me to an XDA redirect that's down half the time, pr2-xda-devolpers.com. Make that happen, and I'm on board. Oh, and I want little XDA branding on all the screenshots I upload.

O frabjous day, calloo callay! This is pleasant news because I don't think it can be overstated how ghastly and absolutely horrid the Tapatalk user experience and design are.
Looking foward to the new app however; it's obvious the current one is lacking and far behind
That is wonderful news. I have one question not related to the actual development of the app, will it replace the free and premium apps or become a new app? (Reason being is I bought both Tapatalk and XDA Pro)
