[Q] External SD card not visible on PC Voodoo-stable-5.1-Froyo-2.2.1

Hello,
I can not see the external sd card on my windows PC.
I can see the internal sd card as a drive and i have read write access on my win PC (XP/ prof and win7 prof)
I can see the external sd card as a drive but cannot see any files or folders.
connected USB cabel
select mass storage device
not possible to connect USB to PC via dialog (no notification is vissible in notification bar)
reconnect usb cable
Now it is possibel to connect USB to PC via upcoming dialog on phoneselect mass storage device Message box comes up telling that some apps may not work because they have access to sd card
After disconnecting the phone from PC I cannot access the external SD card on my phone until reboot of phone.
I can access the the external sd card using a card reader on my PC.
I think I got these problems since flashing Voodoo-stable-5.1-Froyo-2.2.1-GT-I9000
Firmware Version 2.2
Baseband I9000XXJPP
Kernel 2.6.32.9
I tried to format the sd card with the phone - no changes.
Best regards and thanks in advance O
I have the exact same problem, when I connect with usb cable to my win 7 x64 system using the mass storage option, at first I do not connect at all, then I have to remove the usb cable once, after that I can connect but only see the sd card on the phone itself, the external sd card is invisible.
When I remove the usb cable I am also unable to see the external sd card on the phone itself and I have to restart my phone in order to see it again.
My proplem is solved. By error I installed the voodoo 5.1. on Froyo 2.2 . But it should have been installed on Froyo 2.2.1 as mentioned in the filename of the zip file. I thought froyo 2.2.1 is included in the voodoo update.

If you are not worried about loosing everything on intermel memory then boot into recovery and wipe everything and in mounts and storage format everything then boot to download and mode and flash stock rootable rom via Odin and should be OK from there hope it helps
still the same--E:Cant mount sd card--no such file or directory
regarding camera--turn off usb mass storage---when i opened the setting-storage i found that also the usb storage (total space is unavailable-no available space) and that mean it cant recognize the internal sd also--and the total system storage is only 1.97GB--so where is the internal memory--the summary is that the device cant mount internal or external sd and when opening gallery it tells cant open beacause sd card is used as a usb mass storage

2-CF-ROOT-SGN-ZS-MUL-KK1-V5.0-CWM5
3-Abyss kernel
the problem is that the phone cant read also the internal sd--and in usb storage it write it is unavailable...again when trying to flash the stock rom by odin it suspend immediatly before the end of the green line to be finished...many time repeated but same issue

Samsung Captivate external SD card wont show up on computer

hi, i have a samsung captivate running android 2.1, i finally managed to root it with a update package, though, this phone is old, and does not clockwork mod (free version) in the market . therefore, im trying to sideload the free version of clockwork mod with android sideload wonder machine ( AT&T blocked installation of unknown services on this device) , though whenever i mount my external SD my computer wont recognize it( nothing pops up and i cant find the SD card on the computer). any advice/ tips? im using the orginal cable, installed driver many times and restarted many times thanks!
Guys! please help!
I highly recommend you update to at least stock Gingerbread; that way you will be able to sideload apps without any hassle, plus you'll be up to date in general. When you activate USB mass storage from the device, you don't need to mount the external sd separately. They should appear on your computer as 2 removable drives, or sometimes Samsung likes to hide the external sd in a folder called "external-sd" that shows up on your internal.
agree, re recommendation to go GB or at least froyo. is the external_sd folder visible in the phone and does it see the real card?
even when my phone was new, running froyo stock unrooted, and I had never put an external sd in the device, the folder existed, but it was only a placeholder for mounting an sd card.
you can check settings, sd storage, to see if the phone mounted the external sd properly.

Xperia TL: Problem mounting SD card on OS X

Hi all,
I just got the Xperia TL, and have had problems mounting the SD and internal phone storage in OS X (running Mountain Lion). It mounts fine under Win 7 (both in Bootcamp and running my Bootcamp partition in Parallels), but Disk Utility doesn't even see the partitions when I connect the phone via USB. The phone registers that the SD card is "mounted" to USB when the phone is connected, so I don't really know what gives.
This card was previously used in another Android device, and mounted fine to OS X over USB. I just took it out of the Xperia TL and reformatted it, put it back in the phone, erased it again in Android (just to be thorough), and it is still not showing up in OS X. The phone still says "Internal storage and SD card mounted to PC" when USB is connected. Any other ideas?
Fixed it: had to download and use Android File Transfer, and the devices internal storage and SD card show up in the application window.
I guess the problem is that OS X doesn't understand the MTP protocol natively, which is apparently the protocol the Xperia TL uses to transfer files over USB, and not MSC (mass storage device class).

Install TWRP Recovery Tool with the help of "XLMultiTool.v2.1" (Serach in the xda - developer forum for the download link), once installation completed, reboot to recovery mod and mount the SD card, it will get connected to PC, format the SD card and start using...
