So hay guys
I successfuly swaped my sd cards ..
4.8GB FAT32
2GB EXT3
1GB Linux swap
But every time i restart my tab and all apps which ive installed are away but if go.to settings and look at all my installed apps there are grey boxes with 0,00byte?
So how can i fix it must i create another partition? I was thinking that the ext3 is for stuff like save settings or app cache/data?
Must i edit any file in the root of my device?
Its really annoying :/
I hope u can help me
My device:
-2.3.6 Stock
-Overcome 4.0.0 Kernel

I understand you didn't take out your broken internal SD.
You just partition your external SD.
And not to ext4 but ext3 only.
Maybe that is all OK, I could be wrong.
But have you tried booting without your external SD?
I just suspect your external isn't being used.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
I think that the /data partition doesn't work for me?
But how i can allow my ext sd card to write into the /data partition?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
By removing your internal SD card like the other thread with success stories.
At least that is what I think you need to do.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
Hmm but if i remove my internal sd must i flash the rom again or is the rom automaticly on my ext sd?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
No, I think the other thread has all the steps.
And I think you do need ext4, not ext2 or 3.

Hello, right now i'm using miracle v4 ROM with dartremor a2sd script for cm7. I'm facing a apps installation problem that always occurs when I try to download big-sized app like inotia4, magic piano etc. It keep saying insufficient memory, but when I check the available space on titanium backup, I still have a lot of space in memory card also internal storage because of a2sd partition. Anyone suffer same problem as me?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
i have same problem..
i hv lots of space in internal and memory card.
but evrything installs to the small a2sd partition, which is only 180 mb
I have 1.16 GB on my a2sd partition and 88.5 MB on internal storage. The inotia4 only around 43MB. But it can't be installed even downloaded before the download process it keep saying error insufficient memory.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
Anyone know how to solve this?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
This is most probably some conflict with the play store and/or titanium backup
go to settings->applications->manage applications
Clear the data and cache from the play store
If still doesnt resolve the issue, delete the vending.apk from \system\app
use this to reinstall it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802291
Okay, the first suggestion failed and now i'm working on the second, do i need to install it via root explorer (copy paste to /system/app) or just normal installation?

The second way didnt work either

That will not delete the sd-ext and swap partitions if you have them.
If you have a card reader, you can do it manually by using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition. I did it that way and had no problems at all, just watch out what are you doing
Flash Stock ROM. settings >storage>format SD card
PS: Would work only on stock ROM. Wont work in CM7.

If they do not know what partitions are, then why would they make them on their sdcard anyway? If they can't make a difference between "Local Disk C", "NTFS FileSystem" (talking about Windows, Linux can create confusion) and "Removable Disk X" and "FAT", "EXT2/3/4", then i have anything other to say then - go to a roof of a building and jump off it

I flashed cm10 in cwm and it worked fine. Then I flashed jb gapps rebooted the phone. Android updated finishing boot. And when I go to use the phone it crashes and I can only manual boot into cwm and restore. Is it a bad download or is it cos cm10 is only a nightly and it could be a bit buggy
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Download the gapps again and flash it using recovery over the old apps
I will try that thanks.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
It works thanks. But everytime I boot my device it says the process gapps has stopped. I press on OK and it all works fine. Its funny.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
Hmmm .. in that case you need a clean flash of the rom again followed by the gapps again
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
A clean flash. U mean factory reset and wipe cache
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
no i mean flash the current rom again using the wipes and formats (system data preload cache) and install the rom again the way you did it
I really appreciate or help, I'm a little confussed how I perform what or saying to do can u plz give me instructions a little more detailed. I'm still kinda learning as I go. And also do know what my external SD card is called in cm10. I can see it in the settings under storage. But I can't find it in any file browsers es or cm file browser.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
its should be in /storage/sdcard1 or /storage/extSdCard
make sure you have all the files needed to flash the rom on the phone..
now boot into recovery and go to mounts and storage
format /system, data, cache, preload
go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache as well
now > install zip from sd and flash the rom again followed by gapps
**** the above steps is assuming that you are still on the Cm10 kernel as its safe
Thanks sorted it out. But still no ext SD card. I know there is a lot of confussion with where SD cards are mounted in cm builds.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
What's there us the /storage/ mount?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
For some reason SDcard 0 and sdcard 1 r both mounted in internal memory. ICS SD binder locates my external SD card in mnt/obb. So I thought that's where it is. But when I copy a file to mnt/obb it does not go to the external card I can't access it anywhere.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
If it helps when I go into settings/ storage and go right to the last option I can't press on it to mount or unmount SD card. Do I need to mount it? Is this my problem
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
It just says insert an SD card for mounting

Thanks so much for your help bro. Its all working perfectly no crashes and I can access my ext sdcard now. This forum is the best.

Hello, I am new to SD-ext and Link2SD and such things, I googled around a little and found the most suitable solutions for the internal memory shortage of CM10.1 is either Link2SD or INT2EXT+
Now I want to ask, which is better at performance, more stable?
I would have went around experimenting as they say but the problem is that I don't know how to remove either of them, so please tell me that too, so if I didn't like one of them I remove it and try the other.
That's all for now, thanks in advance!
I would suggest int2ext, because effectively it increases the size of your internal storage instead of moving apps to sd. As long as you have a class 10 or better sd, you won't notice any difference in performance.

Unluckily I don't have a class 10 SD right now and I doubt my ability to get one for a while. Currently having a Class 4 16GB SD, what do you think would work best?

You can still use int2ext, but you will get a quite noticeable performance decrease. Just test it! To remove just go to system/etc/init.d, then you can just remove its files.

I actually tried Link2SD (With a EXT4) but it didn't read or create a script. I googled, people said use EXT2, so I just said, since it didn't work, let's try INT2EXT.
I flashed it (without removing Link2SD) and nothing changed...
I, just now, removed Link2SD and restarted: no changed.
What do you advice me to do? ((I think the problem is because this ROM doesn't support EXT4, but I am not sure of course))

Int2ext needs ext 4. After removing link2sd, you should reposition your sd to ext 4. And which Rom you have? Because current ones are all sporting init.d, so they support sdext.

there's an updated version of Link2EXT (4.2) as on some devices the SD-EXT wasn't found

Oh, so you think that update will work? I will try it now.
EDIT: Nothing new: After reinstalling it and choosing EXT4 it still say "Mount script cannot be created"
NEW EDIT: I apologise, I now know where did the error come from, I stupidly enough installed an EXT3 instead of EXT4.
Link2sd work fine with me on CM7 or CM10.1
On your cm7 you should set allow installing data on sd card and in settings of link2sd should be set on automatic
Ext2 on link2sd work fine with me

in some devices, even If your partition is of ext2 or 3., it mounts it as ext4 itself
so while using link2sd try recreating mount script as ext4

Well, seems I should really change it from EXT4 to 2, I guess that's what I will try.
Thanks everyone so far! :good:
Since you have the latest CM10.1 nightly.. I suggest u try this..
Take a complete back up of your SD card.
Make sure u have uninstalled any apps and removed any scripts related to link2sd and such scripts. (When there's any doubt whether the old scripts would cause any problem, i always prefer wiping the device and freshly installing the rom to avoid any mistakes)
If u do not have any problem flashing the ROM again, i really suggest u to do so and then do the below steps. Definitely should work.
Reboot into recovery mode.
Go to advanced option and select SD partitioning option
Select the partition size as 1024mb and swap size as 0mb.
Proceed with partitioning.
Reboot your device.
Save fixed-int2ext+ for android 4.2..1 by CronicCorey on the root of your SD card..
Boot into recovery again.
Go to mounts and storage option and mount data, system and sd-ext.
Go to install zip from SD card.. Choose zip from SD card.. Select the int2ext+ script.
After installation.. Go to mounts and storage and unmount data and system and format sd-ext.
Now reboot the device and check.. It'll be done.
I have done this many times and it's worked. I use 16gb class 4.. No issues.. Smooth for me..
After installing this script.. Make sure u dont wipe dalvik cache using recovery mode. Your device will get into boot loop.. Use wipe dalvik cache script specifically created for int2ext by croniccorey..

I guess it was because I was on 1.0? I got it all situated...now I just gotta figure out how to convert my MicroSD to useable space for downloading apps....Google Play Services is needed for another app I installed...and thats the only two things i have installed!
So you are rooted and running a custom ROM now but have no room left in data partition?
If so you can try custom mtd partitions to free up some room or partition your sdcard to ext4 and run apps from ext partition, much faster than fat32
