[Q] Smart alarm install on stock rom - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I have an S5830L with stock S5830UBKPL build, and been wanting to add to it the smart alarm some stock roms of other android phones have. I've already tried to adb push it and install it through CMW, but to no avail. Anyone got any insight on this?
Thanks a lot in advance!
PD: links to smart alarm apk:
1.- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22397549&postcount=7
2.- There was a thread that had a "Clock.zip" attached but can't find it now. Will edit when found

Well, I found a working stock smart alarm for (at least) my stock rom (GB 2.3.6 on an S5830L):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639750
Stopwatch and Timer functions don't work but I didn't care for them anyway.
Happy waking! I totally recommed this alarm

Have you tried it the normal way?

Problem with sound on [ROM GNEXUS PORT] jro03c 4.1.1 beta 3

Hi all,
I use Rom mention above, Now I have no sound of everything (phone ringtone, alert notification, alarm clock, etc.) except for dial button sound on Call.
Here is my case:
1. I flash ROM with all instruction and it work fine except that call has bad sound. So I flash new radio and problem is solved. (KG3)
2. I flash new T9 dialer from Beta 4
3. I enable BLN
Does above have something to do with my problem? This Rom is great, So I don't want to change it. If this problem can be solved, please be kind to answer me.
Thanks in advance

[ROM][DEODEX][I8190/N/L]DMod v4 gallery problem

Hey guys,
I managed to install [ROM][DEODEX][I8190/N/L]DMod v4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165575
Everything went fine, there is only problem with gallery. After flashing it kept freezing or was working extremly slow. I installed a GalleryMod uploaded by other user in that thread (from NOTE2 I guess) but it still keeps freezing. Any advices?
I am using standard version of S3mini and have CWM recovery. I realize that the software is developed for N devices, however other users recommended installing it on any S3. Everything else works exepts the gallery.
Thanks!
Oh and one more thing. I found out that digital dual clock widget is missing! I really miss it and I dont like that much other alternatives.
I found the .apk package somewhere in system/apps folder in my girlfriend's galaxy s2 (officjal JB) but unfortunately after copying it over my phone it won't install. :banghead:
Can anyone tell me how am I supposed install it?
Cheers

[Q] miniCM v5.1 and Youtube

Hello
Yesterday I finally decided to mess up with my phone, and I've installed miniCM v5.1 ROM + GAPPS from the proper topic here on forums and modified kernel which boosts my phone's clock to 825MHz. Everything works marvelous, phone is responsive like never etc, but the problem is Youtube isn't working.
I've tried installing GAPPS again, I've reinstalled YT again, I've also tried downloading Flash 11, but it says it's not compatible with my device, so I installed it manually from *.apk file. It installed correctly, but still YT doesn't work. It's not like it doesn't work at all, there is no video/sound. I can see all comments and information, but movie window has error message saying the "problem occured while trying to play" or something. And it happens for every movie I tried.
I am using: miniCM v5.1 + GAPPS provided in link in proper topic, NOPE Kernel v2.6 825MHz.
I will be very thankful for any help you guys can provide.
Also thanks for warrior1208 for his work with miniCM, Hasoon2000 for awesome app that made possible for me to install this stuff and me4488 for providing us overclocked Kernels

The problem ain't with the gapps or rom, youtube is not included in gapps provided in minicm 10 forum...
Do one thing, manually download youtube apk of ANY PREVIOUS VERSION, it seems to be a problem with the new version, although it is working for me...
BTW, thanks for trying out my rom...

Well, I'm really lookinf forward to the next update you stated that is going to be released later in march. I'm using your ROM because it has everything I need to customize my phone. One suggestion I'd like to give: a dialpad is too large, if you try to put first letters (T9 method of looking for contact) it shows only 1 record and then you have to expand the list manually and chose proper contact you wish to dial. Would it be possible to make this dialpad smaller, like native android dialpad which is used to type?
The only things I've installed to your rom was ES File Explorer which replaces CM file explorer, and ClockQ for clock on home screen. I'm still looking for better music player tho, Apollo doesn't seem to be well designed, I wish I could use stock HTC Player as I did on Sense. Also you could consider adding AppHider tool to be preinstaled which would help a lot of people to hide unneeded icons from the Drawer.
I also don't like having two launchers installed. I'm using the Trebuchet 0.2 at the moment as I didn't like the other one very much. You should stick with one in my opinion. I wish Trebuchet had some more options tho, like modifying the unlock button orientation on the ring :S
Anyway, thanks a lot, I'm finally happy with my Desire, no freezes and everything seems so smooth. I will try to donate after I get my payment, but it won't be very much as I live in quite poor country

Adding things like apphider would make the rom sluggish... I would try to change the dialer and the apollo music player is the default cm10 player...
Btw, I don't work for money so I don't need donations, I work for THANKS...

Confirmed, I've checked a lot of *.APK and found out that most recent working in my case is version 5.2.27.

Upgraded to Marshmallow: reminder apps not working anymore

As per title since I upgraded my SM-N920C every single alarm reminder app I have tried so far is not 'waking up' and sounding when a Google Calendar reminder is due.
The device is not rooted, deep sleep is OK and I remember I had that issue a couple of times with Lollipop (it got self fixed without doing anything...).
Please help. [emoji20]

Hi ,
Firstly ,i am still on Lollipop ,Android v5.1.1
When i had similar issues quite some time back ,i went to stock Smart Manager ..and turn that paticular app off (.from optimization .)
I believe Marshmallow has something similar..Doze or still Smart manager . or granting of Permissions ,( when installing an app .)
Also most probably you did not you grant app permission " Always run " or something like that .?
Logic tells me , app is not waking up , its been kept in a sleep mode ?
Just remember ,
i am not on Marshmallow,so i cannot say/check ,( for sure .?)
Good luck
Thanks for your support, but I have disabled Smart Manager app optimisation already and I got no permission request while running those calendar apps.

Go to Battery > Battery Usage and hit the 'More' button. There select 'Optimise battery usage' and disable any app you want a notification from. It's probably Doze that is keeping your apps from waking up.
Unless you have some other task killer running and killing them...
Thanks however I can't go into that section right now as it force closes (issue probably related to Debloater).
I will try that as soon as I sort that other issue!
Guess you disabled the Smart Manager app (it was in your previous post, but i thought you just disabled the 'app power saving')? Enabling that again should do it.
No the fact is that I disabled some packages (mainly KNOX stuff and others) by using Debloater when I was running Lollipop.
Now that I am running Marshmallow no matter how many times I try to re enable them they still remain disabled...
About Smart Manager I didn't disable the package, I just switched it off.

hi ,
I had a similar issue on my old rooted Note 4 ,
disabled apps in stock Apps manager ( instead of freezing apps with my Titanium app )
After flashing another updated Rom ,the relevant apps were still disable .!!
As far as i can remember , i had to do a full factory reset and flash Rom again .
(Factory reset alone did not help and doing a dirty flash also did not help )
Very frustrating issue .
good luck

Yeah I did a complete wipe and factory reset too (I actually had to otherwise every single app kept crashing under Marshmallow), but I won't use custom ROMs because I want to keep the device unrooted (using payment systems and others).
I strongly hope to solve that issue 'cause I am not known for having a good memory. :shy:
OK I *might* have found out that the cause is that under Marshmallow you HAVE to enable notifications in the stock calendar app otherwise third-party ones won't work properly!
The funny thing is that it's working great and you don't get double notifications (stock+third-party apps) at all.[emoji38]

Any ROM good with Android Auto ?

Hi,
I'm looking for a custom ROM with which Android Auto works, but can't seem to find one...
Has anyone been able to make it work ?
Edit : For a Z2 force I meant of course. I've tried several and it never did work. I'm thinking it's a hardware incompatibility ? Or maybe just a crappy app, I'm not sure ^^
Thanks !
