[REQ] AOSP 4.1.1_r6 (JRO03R) ROM - Nexus 7 General

I would love a stock ROM without any customizations based on the latest sources dropped in AOSP, would anyone be kind enough to build me one? I'm sure I'm not the only one to want this. I don't got the kind of net or computer to compile myself (the source download itself is 6GB which is a bit difficult for me at the moment).

If you're rooted I think this is what you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1905961
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium

I haven't look for just a stock build of that, but haven't seen one anywhere. The above link is just for drivers/binarys and isn't a full ROM.

Not sure but I think that is the major difference between the two?

This... it is only the new drivers.
Sent From My Toro+ via White Tapatalk

Be wary though, I think flashing the drivers mixes things up behind the scenes, for example I'm always running bug less beast for stability and I after I flashed the drivers everything seemed fine, till I went to the hospital and well they got free WiFi which would always connect properly, u just have to open a webpage to accept terms, conditions and then u can use their WiFi, well the other day (still on bugless beast) I tried to connect it would not obtain IP address what so ever so I couldn't even get to the splash screen to accept conditions and activate the WiFi, so I thought hmm I been here before plenty of times using my n7 with the mentioned ROM and had no issues with their WiFi then I started to think it was them and WiFi must be screwed up at the moment, and well that never changed my phone was fine so I decided f-it reflash the ROM on my n7 and boom that was the fix, anyways go download the latest bugless beast he updated to latest jro03r and is completely stock aosp with a nice reboot menu and camera/lock screen shortcut are included as well

Anyone knows if this new drivers solve the black line problems that appears for less than a second using soft or white backgrounds like tapatalk and chrome?
Thank you.

Ok thx,
We'll be waiting for the next update from Google to solve this little problem.

I built the android-4.1.1_r6 branch a few hours ago, and have it running now. It has nothing
installed and is really useless as-is, I will upload it if you really want it.
EDIT:
I just went ahead and uploaded it

flash system.img, boot.img with fastboot
boot into recovery wipe data/factory reset
install Nexus7-Binary-Update-JRO03R.zip
or it wont work.
install gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip if you want
any Google services.
I also uploaded ClockworkMod touch 6.0.1.4 for grouper

There are plenty of other good rom`s to choose from and try atm
There is, xenon 9 is really stable but vanir is similar in features and has crazy speed tweaks, also its the only ROM I know of with the .25x animation speeds
New build!

Usually, the only difference is that they're built by different people. They might have small little local changes, but all in all your not really missing out on flashing on over the other.

Thanks man, i tried it and only difference seems to be the theme, rest looks the same. I have troubles with the inbuilt torch in both cases though. It doesnt want to shut down and keeps turning on.

Vanir - Android 7.1.2
vanir_mako_7.1.071917.zip
First Vanir with Android 7, which finally managed to run me.
This ROM uses the kernel lineage.
In addition, it is very underdeveloped, because it does not work properly debugging, so you can not connect through adb and install applications.
There is also no possibility of a normal apk installation (message: Package installer has stopped).
I checked and I can confirm that the navigation buttons work very well in Vanir ROM, for Nexus 4 with an inactive touch pad at the bottom of the screen.
I can add a ROM to the compatibility list.

Thank you for your attention. My opinion was premature.
I installed ROM again (the same file without re-downloading) and adb works normally.
Installation through
Settings -> Storage -> Explore
also works as it should.
Probably the first installation was damaged.
Unfortunately, I have to retract my opinion regarding the operation of navigation buttons on the inactive bottom of the touch screen.
Previously I tested on my second N4, where the inactive touch screen I have in the middle of the screen.

Experimental is usually a build started by a dev to test changes made
Nightlies are builds scheduled every night regardless if changes have been made
Milestones have all the big bugs ironed out and signify overcoming big developmental hurdles
RC (release candidate) is what it sounds like. It's a build that has the potential to be stable if no further bugs appear
Stable has all the bugs worked out.
Do we still have the Black screen during calls? I swore it worked this morning then all my calls went black. Didn't realize how important buttons were on calls to me until it happened. I'm on the latest nightly

Too bad... Hopefully someone will create some kind of AOSP-Stock-Hybrid-ROM.
I will ask in Q&A if somebody is already at it, if not i will see if i can spare some time to get involved into Android developing and try to create one...
Issues
Apologies if I have missed anything where this has been covered before. I have read pretty much every page of the dev thread. I have been an xda user for years but only just opened an account to ask a couple of questions.
I can report the proximity/ blank screen during calls still exists with 18052013 nightly. Not that I saw anything about this in the change log.
Can I ask if this is any issue for everybody with the HTC One or just some? (I have the international version)
Is there a fix in the works for this?
It looks like the notification LED colour cannot be changed right now. I have tried a couple of colours but green is the only one that works.
I noticed something else small. The facebook app from the Sense 5.0 original ROM had the option to "sync only existing contacts" but with this ROM we have only "sync" which syncs all contacts. Not sure if this is an easy fix but it would be nice to have back. I do understand none of the "sense" apps or tools are available in AOSP.
Thanks for the hard work and helps everybody
Probably kind of random, but anyone have any luck with the One/CM 10.1 syncing with a Jawbone Up (a fitness monitor bracelet)? It worked fine on stock, but refuses to sync since moving to CM. I'm on the latest nightly. Any info appreciated!

D4 Carbon ROM

I saw this in another forum
http://goo.im/devs/carbon/maserati/nightly
I have currently have 6 ROMs on the root of my card and this one as of late has been my fav. Since I didnt see it on XDA for the D4 I figured I would post something about it. Here is the link to the page the has the specs about this rom and it has a link to Carbons page on GitHub.
Hope everyone in this community enjoys this rom and happy rooting.
The only place I saw this (at the time) was on goo.im.
Thanks for this, it's better then vanilla cm but with a little extra.
Hopefully now this will get more attention.

I have never had an issue with this...
Although users with GSM will...
It is sent out differently I believe.
Liquid is ok, although I do not use
anything higher then either 2.2 or 2.4.
This ROM so far is the best Ive run on my D4, after trying AOKP, Liquid, Avatar, and CM. The only issue I've run into, and I have never encountered before, is that my google contacts don't sync. Also on that note I can not edit, or create new contacts in the "people" app. I've downloaded another contact manager and am unable to edit or create in that one too. The contact editor will pop up then disappear in a matter of half a second. I have tried flashing the ROM on top of itself again, and also reinstalling gapps after wiping delvik cache. The rom is installed in slot-1 and I only have an AOKP rom installed in slot-2. Has anybody else experienced similar issues and had it resolved? I really don't want to go to another ROM after trying this one.
thank you for reading!
It is a shame this doesnt get more attention. This is a superb rom. I have more stability and functionality with this than CM or AOKP. Loved pacman's options of everything, but it was not stable either. This one just works! People really need to try this one out

I think it does. If you flash it, there is a warning in the flashing screen about ROM slot 1.
Anyway, one of the most stable ROM I've ever used.
There is an annoying bug with setting CPU maximum frequency (not sure if anyone else experiences it) but it can be fixed by using "profiles" on SetCPU

MJA update: Have you made the jump? What are the differences? Do you think it's worth

Just a general post to see if those of you who got the update to work, if you really think it's worth it? Is it one step forward, two steps back? Are you happy that you updated or sorry you did? No, this post isn't necessarily a question post, just one to get people's opinions on the update in one place and not scattered between a few threads. Mods, if you feel this is redundant, that's fine. I'm just trying to generate some activity and input from the users on the update.
I did it and it seems a lot smother. But then I cf-autorooted and restored a nandroid of carbon rom. Don't know why but I seem to get better service.

You can update and keep root... I odined back to mf9 and used cf auto root to gain root access back. I then went into superSU and checked survival mode(keeps root even after ota). I tried the 2014-01-18 and 19th builds.
As of the 19th build:
* Cameras work! (didn't in the 18 build, for me anyway)
* Extended low power mode seems to lock up. Leaving the unit overnight results in having to hard boot it the following morning. The unit is warm to the touch after this extended low power mode.
- My use has been with the dock attached.
During actual use of the ROM, it seems great!

* Extended low power mode seems to lock up. Leaving the unit overnight results in having to hard boot it the following morning. The unit is warm to the touch after this extended low power mode.
- My use has been with the dock attached.
During actual use of the ROM, it seems great!

i don't currently own a dock so i won't be looking at any issues related to it for some time. it may not work properly/fully at this time.
i can't reproduce the low power mode:
battery savings mode (location) -> left without being plugged in. seems ok.
So excited about this. Thanks. I'd almost given up looking.
Hi, i would like to install it, but i have a question: it is stable? and what is the batterylife? thanks
and I almost returned mine back to Asus! can't wait to get it back to test CM11. had already given up hope, but nice to see that with "pershoot 'an effective developer of the matter adopted.:good: now I have a good reason to root it. Has anybody test pershoot 6.0.4.6 recovery and can say how it works?

Yeah! Good to know it. Is Unlook, root & flashing custom recovery under lastest 4.3stock possible or must I went back to 4.2.2? expect every day returning my Tf701t with a new dock. After testing connecters, widdle and akku-issues I will start to root and test cromi.

The root method in development works with latest Asus v8 firmware
Get on the latest Asus firmware v8 then flash the latest recovery, linked in the development by me then flash the ROM in recovery. Don't downgrade unless you run into trouble

adb and fastboot.exe are already on my last week fresh installed Windows system. All other files are also waiting already, but damned, the parcel delivery was again not with me!
To date, there are four ****ing weeks of waiting for exchange the keyboard. Is this normal for Asus? Only the keyboard to return was not possible for me, the dealer wanted both because of the warranty. For now I'm using the Note 10.1 2014 edition, but I don't want to root it because I want to sell it again, if my TF701t will arrive slowly.
Pretty normal for manufacture, unless pay for faster delivery. Usually Amazon or newegg on the US are the prime choice
