theres no official ROM because there hasn't been a need for Samsung to release one and because very few people have this device which is an amazing device, its not been leaked either
Tell me, what do you mean by you have installed a custom ROM 8779? that OS version isn't available to us, we have only 8773 from MS
To my knowledge There are no custom ROMs, there are no official ones, there are no OS dumps, there is no access to use the download mode, or change the bootloader, there is however limited access to the diagnostic mode, parts of the EFS, parts of the RAM and several other low level areas of the device outside of the OS

yes, its my focus s , i bought it on taobao(a famous Shopping website in china )
its with custom rom(8779) when i got it.
you know some developers made the custom roms for sale(maybe just in our country)
i cant get the rom , they wont share them
i cant upgrade my phone too (the wp 7.8)
so i want to rollback
the other way to upgrade my phone is send my phone to the dev
my English is poor, maybe there are some mistakes. i hope you can know what i say

very interesting, and your English is fine
there are three possibilities
1, Its faked, its so easy to change that info screen
2, its real but they didn't install a custom ROM, they have gained access to the 7889 CAB files and updated the OS manually
3, its real and they updated the ROM somehow
if you would mine could you try and dump the ROM, using QPST Here
its not easy to use and don't ever hit any buttons marked "write" if you want to help ill type up instructions, but essentially you need to make sure the SPC is correct, then download this, then put your phone in to diagnostic mode using the diagnostic tool, add the COM port to QPST and connect to the phone, click start clients, then software download, click multi image, then fill in where you want it and click start, your phone should restart in to a download mode and after that I don't know what will happen, to get out of the download mode you just unplug and hold the power button until it turns off.
ill write a more detailed guide if you want to help

To stop the Demo demonstrations, you have to install ROOT WP7 TOOLS.

Then in explorer you have to go to the Startup folder (windows\StartUp) you have to create a new folder and copy all files except RetailDemoService.lnk.
Then in Registry, you have to go to shortcuts folder (Local Machine\System\Explorer\Shell Folders) and change the StartUp file, change the value data from \Windows\StartUp\ to \Windows\StartUp\new\.
After this restart the device.

Hey Dazza, I wish you guys the best in finding a way to develop a custom rom. I myself am trying to help get custom roms for my Dell Venue Pro. Anyways, I have this Samsung Focas S that has a demo and I want to disable it as of Ricardox6 instructions. I just did the windowsbreak, but I want to know do I install now that XAP Deployer or can I just jump straight to the wp7 root tool?

Hey all, no doubt there has been discussion on how to obtain and load a new Windows Mobile 2005 OS onto the Blue Angel on this board, however, I couldn't find anything specific to my circumstance.
A friend loaded my MDAIII with a beta of Windows Mobile 2005, which has now become expired and the phone is not useable anymore. I need to load a final version of the OS on the device, but don't have the rom or the tools to do it, and generally don't know how. I have checked
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Blueangel/
briefly, but wasn't sure what I need. During the use of the beta the camera on the phone was not operational either. Maybe there is a separate set of files to make that work. Can anyone provide some tips on where to get what is needed, and what to do with it? I'm without a phone right now and its kind of a bummer

Beta Expired
Sorry? Don't be, that is exactly what I needed, except for one thing. It is talking about using activesync to connect to the device. The device is not in a state where it is accepting connections. As soon as you turn it on and it boots, you get your password screen. As soon as you log in you are presented with a "this beta has expired" message and can't go anywhere / do anything. Still investigating...
Has anyone seen this beta screen before?

I have not experienced anything like this when i used to use WM5.
I belive you should be able to do this by putting the thing into bootloader mode and then flash it with the XDA Developers version.
Wait...where did your friend get the version he put on your BA?
Is it the same Rom version/OS version?

Very simple as we speak M8....
Charge ur mobile battery fully.
Sync it with Active sync with your PC and update ur Dotnet till up to date.
Run Opal HArd SPL and a set of files will come inside the folder u have hard spl, a dialogue box will appear, dont click next and now paste the Rom u have downloaded into the folder and overwrite it..
Now Read the following steps in tat dialogue box and its done....

If you don't already have this, than you know how good this is, And well it's a WM6.5 ROM that's completely "NAKED" try it out, and it's fast. (The Link is in my Signature.)

You could try calling your service Provider to give you the Sim Unlock Code or you could pay someone to get you the code.

I posted this response to this same question over in the ROM development forum.
I too am a relatively new user to this board and a complete newbie to flashing the ROM of my Touch Viva. I wanted a newer more finger friendly ROM for my touchscreen Viva and getting the exact answer to how to flash the phone wasn't easy.
I read through different posts and basically pieced together the information that I use from many different posts. I too was concerned about "bricking" my phone and wanted to get it right.
I've flashed my phone with roughly a dozen different ROMs and have finally settled on one that I like and have also flashed a second Viva with an upgraded ROM also. So if you take your time and have a little patience you can do it.

However Gapps is not an .apk file. You need to flash Gapps with the help of a recovery ROM & for that you need to have Android SDK installed. If all this is latin and greek to you; you should visit here

I would also suggest you to go through ROM Bible sticky in this section.
Alternatively you can unzip gapps file and look for marketUpdater.apk in system>app folder and install it manually. I have not tried this method ever but you can give it a shot; it will not brick your phone.

Ativ 3 ? link to that phone please.
I would go for Donut , and when you hacked the "bios !!! " you are almost there.
so your steps to do:
hack IPL bootloader.
hack sbl1.
hack sbl2.
hack sbl3.
hack UEFI.
make drivers for the whole OS.
build a rom.
boot android.
have fun and please post here again when you have it booted

Unfortunately at this time, installing another OS on the phones other than what is already there. I'm a little confused with the ATIV 3 device. If you're speaking about the ATIV Tab 3 and not the ATIV S Windows Phone, then this is the wrong forum location.

I saw in another post that the kernel source got released, Im new to this, I was reading a post about how to create custom roms and all that, and i was wondering , we do need root access to get the system files and all that to begin working on a rom ?
What i wanted to do was basically a full stock lollipop rom, but with the Axon Software ( Camera, Dolby Digital, and a few other things ).
I dont have any background expirience creating roms, but whats leading me to this is , loving the phone but hating the toggles, and a few other software bugs ive encountered.
I have some programming knowledge, and I will make this my little side project if theres any chance for it to be done. If anyone has some background and wanna help/teach me, ill be thankfull.

I know right ? Well, If by any chance it can be done, ill keep trying. I guess first we need root.
I would like to support this and I have some java and c++ programming experience. The only problem is that there hasn't been any word on root methods or bootloader unlock methods. Supposedly ZTE phones come bootloader unlocked already, but I haven't been able to prove this since we can't access the bootloader via fastboot :/ if we can at least get root that would be a good start.

I was hoping to get the Elite and be able to flash it as the phone had a lot of potential!
You need to install Google Play Services and Google Services Framework. You will need to sideload these apk's. You will need to Google them.

No clue but now that you have your friends Google account you should be able to delete it and add your own.
I'm surprised that there isn't any custom roms for this phone yet,i mean its a phone with 4gb of ram,810 Snapdragon so its pretty powerful.

When will a custom ROM appear for the Axon Pro?I hate all these chinese stuff and i would like to have the option to reset the phone and redo all the Gmail account,without the phone asking me for the last gmail account.I bought the phone from a friend and i did a reset later that day and it kept asking me for the old account.It sayd that the phone was reset and needs the old account and i couldn't go forward because it kept connecting to google and asked for the old account.I had to use my friends account again to use the phone.I want a simple rom,without this stupid connection to google and other chinese stuff.Any idea when a rom will be available?

Why didn't you just do a factory reset? Also, Chinese stuff?

I did a factory reset and it keeps saying that the phone was reset and i need to enter the gmail account that was previously entered.I also tried entering 15-20 time in a row ,because a lot of people say on forums that on note 4 and other phones if you enter the wrong account,the phone will reset and it will let you enter another account.On ZTE this doesn't work .

He probably has a Chinese model. I have the Lux so I know exactly what he is talking about.
