The last time i checked ramdisk was inside the boot.img, u want to pack that ramdisk alone into a .ftf?
Never had a sony, u'll have ask this in the Xperia forum.

that is all i can propose as i canno't see correctly the attached image.it is tool little for my eyes.
hope it would help.
DSIXDA'S Android Kitchen does it this automatically.
when working folder has been setup:
0 > 12 > w (to extract boot.img)
then you will get BOOT-EXTRACED, inside there will be a ramdisk folder, once finished editing enter "b" to build the boot.img again
How do i do this? I have beem seeing other posts, but im confused about those, any help?

* First of all this maybe shouldn't be a new thread, but I want to see how many people have eMMC brick, maybe this is not that important if there is only few of us. (if your phone is eMMC bricked, please reply) *
Anyway, at this moment only Ivendor supports eMMC bricked devices and he provides a patch for us with every new update of his CM10 (very nice guy), I guess it is not that hard to do, I am not a dev, but I suppose it is only few lines of code ("/data is not here, /data is on SD.") .
At this point I can only have one ROM and I would be happy if other devs could spend few more minutes and create eMMC patch for their ROM/s.
Thank you.
Thanks to alireza7991 we have CWM that works for bricked /data devices ( wipes /data w/o errors ). - HERE
Still waiting for more ROMs.

I think I dont ask too much, devs that want to participate, just make eMMC-fix.zip for your ROM.

Kernels/ROMs, everybody that have something developed could make some tweaks for us.
Dont want to force anybody, just do it if you feel like it and we will be thankful.

Anyway I am still hoping for more devs like Ivendor and brood (who will provide this patch, as he said), so we can maybe stick to the stock kernel or whatever. This way we are still stuck with one kernel. I hope you get what im trying to say.
Ok I found the device spec patch: https://github.com/ivendor/android_...mmit/422db8790284deb06b0080bd902e372574314ae4
This is for the people who already got a bricked /data.
To prevent it from happening in the first place we need the emmc patch of the kernel source (which is floating lonely through the universe)

I think all dev must choose an uniq qcom.fstab and recovery.fstab for bricked data devices ! Devs Please let to choose the fstab from ivendor's one
I will build an special version of my CWM for bricked data . and I may pack all custom kernels for bricked data devices.
I do not promise to do this soon becuase I am on exams and also I I I 'm going to port lk bootloader for our device ...but I hope I do that in near future !
Thanks to alireza7991 we have patched CWM now, with working wipe /data w/o errors (even if /data is on SD).
Good job.

Simple, don't put a kernel in the ROM,you are not obliged to do that. Also,CoCafe doesn't want his kernel by default in ROMs.

If people want to install ROM they need to use custom recovery. Only kernel that is supported now is CoCore, so 99% of chance is that they will already have CoCore.

If so,I think you need to extract it.Better ask CoCafe if he gave you the permission or look for a guide.
Also, your "clean" behaviour will not lead to an answer.

You can use this file type as well... Check updater script of any existing rom which has a kernel of same for type... And copy the same line... But first ask for permission from the cook of the rom...
Or extract your kernel and search for mount points for kernel and use it..

Hi everyone,
As some of you may know, due to Sony cracking down on the beta program, it's impossible to share the new Beta firmware with everyone. @niaboc79 asked me if I could try to do a system dump and surprisingly, it worked fine with ADB.
I'm not really sure what you guys can do with it but I thought I may as well share it with everyone so you'll find it in the link at the end of this post.
I'm uploading it to Mega right now, it's pretty heavy (over 2 gigs) so please be patient but I should think it'll be ready in an hour or so.
Update: link provided at the bottom of the post
Have fun with it and if it is of any help, I'll post future Beta system dumps if and when they become available.

It will be better if he could back it up as .img files than we can easily flash it. Because it is not so easy to flash system folder. But maybe it isn't possible I don't know. I'm now trying something but it probably won't work.

Why do you guys keep posting these questions in development section? Its clearly written that its a system dump from the new Beta update.
ITS IS NOT A ROM, this is not ready for users to flash, this is a dump for developers to work with and hopefully create a working flashable ROM.
Please dont spam and wait for a flashable version.
People just dont like to read op or comments, anyway this will probably go out of beta in a week or two, same as last update did.Why such haste then, just dont brick your phones guys by trying to get this FW in weird ways, there will be a flashable soon
I don't know if it's possible to extract the boot.img without su privileges, if it is can someone provide me with how to do it and I'll gladly help.
And yeah, it's pretty obvious that this isn't a rom but it's harmless in the sense that in the current state, nobody can actually flash anything accidentally and brick their phone. So, I'm leaving it up as it is and people can do whatever they want, I'd be happy if a rom could be made out of this but I certainly don't pretend to have the skills to do it myself which is also why I'm only sharing what I can.
