Hey guys. I'm new to the HD7 scene and WP7 in general, and even though this has probably been asked and answered thousands of times, can Android be flashed? If not, what is the best ROM to have on my HD7, and what process would I go about in doing so? Any information, pointers, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
No, it is not possible. There are no Android ROMs for the HD7 or any other Windows Phones and it will probably never be possible.
have a read thru some of the stickies threads in here for info about custom roms and downgrading firmware and try out the 7.8 custom rom.. its quite sweet.
I'm currently running Deepshining 7.8. Looking forward to seeing if he'll update it to Windows 8

what about HTC HD2 ?
HD2 was a windows mobile, not a WP7. Currently there are no produced wp7 phones that can run android as well.

Why not just backup your stock rom before flashing a custom?

I've been using the phone for the past one month and I'm still reading up about rooting the phone. Still can't decide if I want to root it since it voids the warranty.
Shall wait for the OTA update for 2.3.5 and Sense 3.0 first. Still no news about it for Singapore?

You may wait for few more days. HTC has informed me via e-mail to have update within December.
Thanks. Looking forward to the update. Might decide to root my phone after that though.
Not SG user, but bought ph from SG
Now stuck at 2.3.3
HTC CS said update will come in December
But rumor said it will be 2012 FEB
Sure to root if it is not in DEC
Looking forward

If this is the case, we have to say HTC is playing double game with us. They are doing something different than their commitment and igonoring whole Asia.

4 days to the end of december!
anyway a question, if i were to decide to root my phone, does it matter if i ignore all future OTA official updates and jus stick with updates from CyanogenMod?

Yes, updating my phone now as of writing.

Ok, all you need to do is read the rest of the article, especially update two where it states if your phone and setting no longer work to flash the language pack in the same way.

That is because you are not able to force the Firmware update that is pushed with this - it is the firmware update that fixes the MAC address issue. Surprising that T-Mobile US are not pushing the update for just this reason, pretty sure it is against regulations to have the MAC address changing!

Do not flash this or run ruu!
This is for DEV only.
HTC China gives out the ota for sense3.5 android4.0.3 for Chinese users.
Here is the links:
Chinese RUU 2.3.5 : http://115.com/file/bee6rvlv#
OTA : http://115.com/file/ane2e0x7#
the original Chinese thread is here :
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-4325118-1-1.html
Here is the problem:
Non-Chinese user can not flash the OTA.
Even if you get a super cid, flashed the RUU2.3.5 , You CAN NOT flash the OTA to 4.0 because htc's validation would lock the upgrade.
I think maybe some powerful dev could get the kernel from the OTA which may be used for other android 4.0 sense rom.
Warning: For dev only, DO NOT try to flash this even you get super CID.
