Hia,
I had used many custom stock roms and found a strange similarity that when I lock/unlock my device it done like a t.v. I just hate that effect. I found so many times in settings but can't find anything to change it. Can any one know about it to change that effect???
I want a fade effect on it.

There's no way you got that effect on a stock ROM. If you're running Gingerbread, there's an option to disable that effect. It's called CRT animation. The option should be located in CM display settings. In older Android versions, there is no way to disable it.

The Rom you are using is based on FroyoBread which is a Froyo Rom with back ports from Gingerbread. The CRT animation was introduced with Gingerbread. Unfortunately, the dev didn't make an option to disable that animation.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
actually froyobread had that anim AFAIK (saw it in floyo v0.30 which is also based on FroyoBread) but i might be wrong. in any case, you're better off using a gingerbread rom. but if i remember correctly there was no option to disable it until gingerbread (and again i might be wrong).
Yeah, the animation was back ported from Gingerbread to FroyoBread.

Hi guys,
As above, when I press the power button, there will be a lag around 2-3 seconds before the lockscreen appear.
How do you remedy that?
bro, are you using Modaco Custom Rom?
on stock LG lockscreen?
Same probleme here. But with fr12 modaco it goes a bit faster...

Yah, definitely.
Yours got lag?
Of cause..on all stock rom, this is known bug..

i'm having lag also on modaco fr12
The lockscreen lags for me also. I ended up replacing it with Widget Locker.
The stock lockscreen must have been a trainee's work. How the hell do they manage to lag such simple thing on a phone like this is quite beyond my knowledge.
Even using WidgetLocker also lags..
Anyone know where i can get some screen transitions to flash in ?
im not sure i understand...
what do u mean by "screen transitions"?
not animations within the launcher, right?
Similar but the transition effect when windows upon or close
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
it depends on the rom and launcher.
some launchers offer screen transition when going to app drawer.
but screen transitions between other screens is something i remember that was very customized in Froyo and when gingerbread arrived it was suddenly neglected...
maybe u need one programmer to make a new rom/zip with transitions and all will follow him hh

Hi I was just wondering if you guys knew some cool stuff to do with a rooted phone. Is it possible to theme a stock ROM? Also what's the deal with overclocking and I/O scheduling? Thanks in advance
Sent from my SGH-I896 using XDA App
Yes you can theme a stock rom. And overclocking can only happen with a kernel that is ready to support it.
Keep reading, just make sure you build numbers match

So after I root my wifes captivate with super one click, I can install current nightly with google add on through Rom manager? She had an HTC aria running current nightly and I had to do it always through CWM. Which is not a problem. its because ROM manager didn't work with HTC arias. A little buggy here and there. But I heard its allot easier through ROM manager. But is it safe? Thxs guys.

rom manager is terrible on the galaxy s phones
Thanks. good to know. I'll be doing it from CWM then.
i am not knocking koush and all those involved with ROM manager. i bought the premium version for my other phones, and i love it, but i have to blame samsung and their method of recovery. rom manager just doesnt play well with galaxy s phones. it 'sort of' works once you have CM7 installed. again, its not rom managers fault, its the crappy recovery we have to deal with.

hello to everyone.one month ago i got to my hands the Galaxy S GT-I9000.its a perfect phone for me but i have a strange problem with weather/clock widgets from beautiful widgets, fancy widgets or accuweather widget.the phone seems to works perfectly but when i install those apps the phone some times seems to freeze and the device makes a sounds the screen closes and its like rebooting it self.i was at stock rom GB v2.3.5 and now i have flashed the value pack update v2.3.6 stock rom.anyone knows why is this happening?because its not a low spec phone to have those issues i think.i really want those superclocks with weather :/
thank you for your time.

yes.and i really cant understand why.now i am trying to find good setting for my battery from the kernel.maybe its better to stuck with the normal clock.oh and i also tried the accuweather widget and the same thing.maybe it has something to do with the RAM.because when i was on 2.3.6 sometimes the phone was a bit lagy after installing the widgets.first i want to find a good power plan so the battery not getting low so fast.
i find it stange beacause i used beautiful widgets on my other phone (HTC Wildfire) with no problem.and if you know this htc is a low spec phone.
To be honest, I have no idea. Its very weird that a widget makes the whole phone boot loop. And if it happens on both Gingerbread and Ics/jb, then I'm clueless. Use a different widget maybe.
Edit: Above you mentioned something about overclocking. That might be the cause. Change it to stock settings and check if the problem persists.

Problem with touch screen!
Problem with answering Calls - Running CM 10 - Jelly Bean 4.1.2
I have Galaxy S GT-19000 - installed CM 10 -Jelly Bean 4.1.2.- previously running GB 2.3.6.
Generally works well but have problem when receiving calls as Lock Screen with a pattern of Concentric Circles is displayed even though Lock Screen turned off. If I press on this screen the incoming phone call is disconnected .
However if I am careful and drag screen to the right I see very small green symbol to pickup phone.
Is there anyway to remove this locking pattern so that it does not display when phone rings and accept incoming calls ?
Note when the phone sleeps the Lock Screen is not displayed which suggests that the Lock Screen is not activated.
I have looked in settings but can't find any other way to remove the locking pattern when calls are recieved.
Just added to this query as follows:- When connecting to Charger the phone used to emit an audible sound - it still charges but I can't see in settings any action to enable sound.
I would appreciate your help
