Auxiliary Bluetooth Car port - Nexus 7 Accessories

Anyone know of someway to use Bluetooth in any car stereo by the use of adding a Bluetooth receiver or something to the auxilliary port? I've messed my up my port on my phone before and I don't wanna do it again with my refurb . I listen to a lot of music...

You could plug an FM transmitter into the headphone socket and tune the car radio to it if that's any help, those things are very cheap these days and you can get them integrated into car chargers..

Love the idea but my radio is broken lol

Belkin makes a product for this. Two of them in fact. Look it up on belkins website under the iPhone in car section.

If you're willing to replace your head unit, search these forums for mention of the JVC KD-X50BT. Its a nice Bluetooth receiving head unit that apparently has some pretty decent sound. Reasonably priced, too! I plan on picking one up soon to use with my nexus.

The belkin, if its the cheap one we're both talking about, apparently has awful sound quality. Maybe the second of the two is better.
Always check reviews, just ignore the idiots lol

I remember looking on ebay and seeing what looked like a bluetooth box thing that connected through the aux port.
ie this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/iKross-Bluet...ltDomain_0&hash=item51a218fae1#ht_2983wt_1032
For a simpler idea, cant one just use a male to male cable to connect it?

i just bought this and recieved it today..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00727FE5U/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
its great, no loss in sound quality, easy charging and easy pairing, small with short cord, comes with an adapter so you can also connect it to stereos/tvs/etc.., also has good BT range.

Oh thanks this is exactly what I was looking for! Can you easily switch the chord out with a longer one?

Do an ebay search for "bluetooth receiver", you'll find all kinds of devices. As for how well they work, well, let us know.

You can try the flexsmart x2. It has a line out and line in jack. It is charger and Bluetooth as well. If you plug the line out to the head auxiliary jack then hook the device up through Bluetooth, you won't have to keep unplugging and plugging in. It could potentially work through Bluetooth.
I would try it, bit my car radio doesn't have an auxiliary jack though. Ill see If I can figure out a way to test it and report back.

They have a bluetooth 2.0 a2dp on deal extreme, it gives pretty decent sound and is only 13$, only downside is you have to wait for like a month for it to get here. I can post links yet as I havent hit 10 posts lol, but the sku is 8422 and its on Deal Xtreme. Happy hunting

I use this one in my truck. It did not come with bluetooth and I plug this in my aux to listen to music from the n7 or phone. It works well and pairs very easy.Battery last around 12 hours during use and charges in about 2.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll check these out once I get away from this blocked WiFi.

Im using the HTC Stereo Clip. Awesome device. A little pricey but I think worth it because it does sound like it's directly plugged into the device.

I use the Stereo Clip as well. I've found that battery life on it sucks, so to remedy that I have it constantly plugged into a car charger. This works for me because both my AUX port and a charging port are inside my center console, so they are both hidden from view. Otherwise, you have to recharge it every 2 days or so.

How long do you have it connected? What's your bt device play time? I guess I don't use the clip enough in a shot to really compare. But I have been happy with it and I too, have it constantly plugged into my car charger.

I like some of these that I see here. The GoGroove has pretty decent reviews but can it charge while I use it in my car? Anything that I won't have to take out of my car to charge and has pretty decent audio quality will do. Also if it sleeps on its own when a Bluetooth device isn't connected to it. Really just needs to not be so much of a hassle to use and be reliable.

Anyone try out this Fm Trans / Car Charger

Looks to be just what I'm looking for, Its not going to fit the Titan perfectly but it looks like it would work.
http://cgi.ebay.ca/FM-Transmitter-M...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
If anyone has one on a Titan please give us a review.
Chris
well i just bought one so i'll review it when i get it.
I'm curious... let me know how this works... Very curious to see if it works good with the Slingbox. If I could run the audio of the TV through my car speakers... I'm buying it soon after!
THANKS!
Well I got the transmitter yesterday and was initially pleased with the size and appearance. My first disappointment was that it will not charge the device while playing music. That was the point of my purchase. I have sent a question to the seller about this. I may have got a faulty transmitter.
Also the sound has static in the lower range. If you play anything with crunch like metallica, it just sounds like distortion... on top of distortion... This can be reduced by turning down the system vol on the titan and jacking up the radio but you have to remember to reduce the vol on the radio after you finish using the transmitter. The cig. adapter and charging cable is small and discreet and works very well to charge the device but when the charging cable is attached to power the transmitter the device receives no power. Also, the design of the transmitter will not allow you to jury rig power with the solid Y adapter. This would not bother me on short drives but my work makes me drive prolonged distances so the phone would be dead by the time I arrived. Also in situations where GPS is needed you would have to disconnect the transmitter and connect the power adapter to keep it functional.
The mic built into the transmitter works on about the same level as the speaker phone mic.
Tested on:
VW/ 8 speaker Monsoon Radio with aftermarket antenna pre-amp. (2x better than stock antenna pre-amp)
just to add to this...never tired to specific one being discussed but i thought i would share the one i am using found here
The Motorola T505 it works great connects to phone using bluetooth and broadcasts any audio from it to an fm frequency. it pairs with my touch every time and so far no disappointment's...it's a little more expensive but i think it's worth it. Come with a card charger 2 and the battery last pretty good.
"The Motorola T505"
Looks good! Do you mind me asking how much $$ it was?
i got it for 99$ on sale at Future Shop it's regular 129.99.
2
do somebody can work it??
Yes it works. I'm still using it but not being able to charge the phone while playing music is its down fall. I'm still looking for the ultimate solution.
Chris
Buy one of these socket splitters and use the dual adapter that you should have received with your phone. That should solve your problem. Note: buy extra fuses for the socket splitter. They tend to pop every now and then.

Motorola t505
Just wanted to pipe in that I'm using the T505 and love it. Have had it for almost 8-9 months (I believe I got it from Futureshop as well for about $89). I liked it so much that recommended it to my dad and he bought one. I think they're now much cheaper.

Charge and audio out combo cable?

Any chance we will see a combo cable that would allow charging via usb/and also provide audio out? Id like to run a charging cable behind the dashboard of my car for docking in a cradle, and also have audio out for the auxiliary input to the headunit without having to run a second wire.
Not that running a second wire would be much of a hassle, but would prefer a cleaner look when docked and one less wire when not in the dock
I wish Samsung had put some thought into their car dock. Id be happy to buy the official dock if they hadn't dropped the ball on this one.
It was easy to convert the car dock so it has audio as well.
If You seek on my posts You will find a how to.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I couldn't find the howto. I would like to mod the OWM car dock to allow audio output, and I'd appreciate any help in such direction.

hey, quick question: does it work only for video? or power point as well? thank you
it does
its a good alternative to the dock even if its not HD
Do I get my music through this cable? Or does it work with combined video audio files only?

i searched through a ton of your posts and didn't see anything besides the pinout. my question is how do you take apart the plug to get to the connector, and are all the pins available to solder to?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9985704#post9985704
well here is the post where the gentleman posts to replace a resistor to get it to output audio to the dock. the only question left is how to take the thing apart, whether it comes apart nicely or i have to break out the dremel...
Not sure if you need the same as I do, but my idea was also to have a USB charging plug and an audio-out jack. It wasn't easy, but I found this:

Looking for a Car dock which supports MHL/HDMI

I know these have most likely not being produced but just in case anyone may know off something.
I currently run the app radio 2 and have my Note 2 in the glovebox but would prefer a car dock that could be powered and support HDMI/MHL.
A neat and tidy solution as the current MHL/HDMI solution is messy and not nice to look at and would be nice to be able to access the phone in times when there are issues with the App Radio.
I recently bought one of these cables.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009N7E6IS/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8
It works great for my TVs and I didn't need to buy the Samsung mhl Adaptor.
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't look too messy when paired with a decent looking car mount.
But I would like to know if your stereo head unit has an HDMI input because other wise this would be useless.

I tried plugging in my Note 2 through my car stereo and it doesn't recognize the device. It's a cheaper stereo so it doesn't have bluetooth. So, I'm looking for a bluetooth adapter, any suggestions?

I have the HTC Car A200 that is about the size of a flash drive and I love mine. It hangs off your AUX in port and has a built in battery. I leave mine plugged in to the USB port all the time for power and I actually picked up a right angle adapter so it hangs down, but other than that I love it.
The best part is that it uses aptX so you get better quality than regular A2DP streaming.
I'm a cheap. I have and use this when needed. I've recommended it to coworkers as well and they use it all the time: Coby CA-745. It's an FM transmitter, but uses a 3.5mm jack. It also has another cigarette port so you can use, say, your car charger for your phone.

USB-C to 3.5mm Audio?

Has anyone used some type of USB-C->3.5mm adapter to route audio out with any luck? I'm looking to use my current my wired headphones and my car stereo aux port. I know old lol. My wireless BeatsX suck, they dont get loud at all. The wired Beats I got 6 years ago blows these POS of earbuds out of the water. Looking for any suggestions on an adapter and any special config required in android. Currently running rooted stock. Thanks.

Just so you know more: every adapter should work indeed.
But these adapters contain DAC (digital to analogic converter), in order to receive sound through USB and sending it through good old analogic 3.5mm. The quality of these DAC can really have a difference in sound quality. Not on standard car environment, sure, but for someone with good earphones it is worthwhile to search for a little quality for these adapters.

The OEM adapter does not have a DAC. It doesn't need one because it's correctly wired to work with the USB audio out on the OnePlus devices. So if you use this one, you're actually using the DAC in the phone itself.

Actually it sucks (at least for the OnePlus 7T), I got one too and I regret, the sound volume is really bad with the apple adapter because it wasn't made for Android phones at all of course.
I went to a miniso store and got one adapter there and is 5x times better than the Apple one, and cost 3x less. xd
Any splitter for simultaneous 3.5mm & charging which supports fast charging?
I've seen some videos on YouTube, but doesn't seem like supporting fast charging. We've real USB3.1, there should be something out there.

I tried one (from Ali Express). It is unusable while charging as I started hearing motor sound after one minute of usage. Unplug and plug that back in, again same issue in a minute. None of such adapters support fast charging as far as I know.
