Press Thank If You Can!!!
UOT kitchen. Use a cm7 theme as base, make the modifications, upload the theme, wait, pickup your cooked theme.
Further edits can be achieved by opening the theme .apk file with winrar or 7zip and looking into res/drawable adresses. There you'll find most graphics for you to edit as you like.

Download any theme with a black notification bar made for Enoms TheOfficial ROM. Extract this, and in framework, extract android.policy.jar, framework-res.apk, and services.jar. Create three folders on your desktop, android.policy, framework-res, and services. In framework-res, create a folder called res, and in res, create a folder called layout.
From the theme, take the file framework/android.policy/classes.dex and place it in your folder android.policy.
From the theme, take the file framework/framework-res/layout/status_bar.xml and place it in your folder framework-res/res/layout.
From the theme, take the file framework/services/classes.dex and place it in your folder services.
Download my attached res.zip, and extract. There will be two folders, drawable and drawable-land. Move these folders to your folder framework/res (Note, do not place in layout, you should now have 3 folders in framework/res).
Open a blank txt file and copy the following:
Code:
Enomther's TheOfficial ASOP 1.6
2.4.2
framework-res.apk
/system/framework/
services.jar
/system/framework/
android.policy.jar
/system/framework/
Save this as Black_Bar_Enom.thm. Create a zip from the folders android.policy, framework-res, services, and the file Black_Bar_Enom.thm. Name this zip Black_Bar_Enom.zip (NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE SAME NAME FOR THE THM FILE AND THE ZIP, THEN METAMORPH WILL NOT WORK)
Download metamorph and the eclair theme by djengizz. Place the eclair theme and Black_Bar_Enom.zip in the folder /sdcard/AndroidThemes. From here, metamorph will do the rest, just be sure to apply the eclair theme before you apply the Black_Bar_Enom.zip morph.
I forgot to add, you now have your first metamorph to post. I am sure many users of Enoms ROM would appreciate it.
Thanks i will try this

That is weird, there must be something in enoms source that I do not understand. Boot to recovery and flash your current ROM to do away with the bootloop.
Enom is very good about responding. You should either ask him what is wrong with my instructions, or ask him to port my black bar mod.
cool thanks tho
Are there any themes for stock gingerbread 2.3.4?
i dont want a custom rom on it as i like the stock
Have you ever checked out UOT Kitchen? Go here, unzip whatever ROM you want to theme and upload SystemUI.apk (found in /system/app) and framework-res.apk (found in /system/framework).
Make whatever mods you like and the kitchen spits out a flashable zip. It really is too easy to use, and you can customize it to your liking!

How in the world do you edit the softkey images in CM7? I would love to know and I am sure a lot of other people do to. I couldn't find a thread about it.
They are in the systemui.apk IIRC, the easiest way to edit them would be to via a theme chooser theme, you can take a theme you like and decompile it and just swap out the files and then recompile and sign it.
you can use a program like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053227
or this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
Is someone planning to make/port a theme for v20n?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah just wait, themes will come eventually...

yeah ,theming 2.3 is more easier than 2.2
there's a lot of things to do with 2.3 ,let's do it step by step
I'd love to see this Theme on V20N.
I'm not skilled enough to port it by myself.

I tryed kitchen. But in the LG ROM some files are not in framework-res or system ui.
So you can change only status Icons and battery icon but not the ugly blueish style of the whole ROM like the Icons in the dropdown menu.
Is it understandable what im trying to say?
Yes, me too I've tried several times changing the icons in the drop-down menu but so far i haven't succeeded :/
what are u saying guys????u can edit EVERY aspect of any LG ROM without the lockscreen & the icons!!!!...check out my themes' sceenshots in this thread!!!!

It's because some things are named different. You can't change those icons unless you decompile. Example, in dropdown menu/pull down menu, indi_noti_bluetooth_off (LG) versus stat_bluetooth_off (Gingerbread, CM7). UOT doesn't cover that.

Ah, they meant the Power widget notification icons.
Sorry for the misunderstanding, and thanks gabwerkz that's what i meant ^_^ When you say decompile you refer to decompile the framework-res.apk or the systemui.apk?

If you want to change those icons, they are located in SystemUI. If you have your UOT zip, extract/unzip it.
1. Grab the SystemUI and decompile.
2. Change the icon/s.
3. Compile.
4. Rename the compiled unsignedSystemUI to SystemUI.
5. Open your UOT zip by double clicking (if you have a rar/zip program),
6. Locate SystemUI (app folder).
7. Drag and drop the compiled and replace.
8. With WinRAR (my compression method is "store").
9. Exit and flash the zip.
Be aware of the icon size (for alignment) left and right. You can crop top and bottom so you can resize it's background too. Same as the Carrier background. See my unresized background example below (V20N). A waste of space. Then see my modified one (CM7). you only get good results by decompiling. UOT cannot resize backgrounds.

Thank you very much dude, you're the best!!!! hope to see your theme cooked soon !!!
hope to see someone make a minimalistic theme for v20n soon
If someone else is interested in Porting ROMS, Building CM7 from Source OR Theming.
This is for you guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1273718&highlight=[All+In+One+Guide+for+Dummies]
Hope you guys learn fast as some are already doing new themes.
Remember that are various files involved:
framework-res.apk
SystemUI.apk now in Gingerbread
Are there in this new ROM lge-res.apk and suires.apk?? They were in Froyo, pretty important.
I haven't even looked at this V20 Rom since I'm in CM7 and moving to HD2 in a few days.
Good luck, it looks you are doing great!

This theme I made, for most basic stuff, it's just getting png's from some clean Gingerbread Rom like Nexus one's. For more concrete things like volume bar of description text, well you have to get into xml's and test, but not hard for someone like gabwerkz and some others.

No such files, atleast the one I'm using. I'll look into stock one, but I think they are important and should be there even in repacked ones if they are included indeed in Gingerbread. thanks for the advice tony.
Hi guys =)
I need your help please, because I want to replace icons of a ROM (I know I must change framework-res.apk ?) by own icons or another ROM's icons.
I have .jpg (or another image file) but if I note in the apk, it's .xml file.
So, I'm lost.
one of the easiest method in my opinion:

I recommend UOT Kitchen. http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Here is the related thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
You can also use the application called "Rom Toolbox". But i didn't use it so i can't give any feedback. But i used UOT kitchen and worked like a charm.. And looks like crazy beautiful.
