Dear guys...
I am absolutely new for Window phone, 3 days experience after fed up with Samsung's Omnia long times ago...
So forgive me even my question is tooooooo noop but, trying to find out strong reason to flash custom rom on stock Mango...
Well, I have used Android phone for a long time with flashing every single rom available until no more fun, ..
So I bought HD2 and flashed Mango custom rom and also Android as dual boot. I understand to flash Mango custom rom to WM 6.5 on HD2 as I used terrible WM 6.5 before...
Mango made me soooo exited with totally different concept compare to Android as I already bored with Android...
So decided to stick to Mango phone from now on then again I bought HD7 and I compared side by side with HD2 running on custom Mango rom (as both devices have same spec of hardware..) and I couldn't find out differences between custom rom (on HD2) and stock (on HD7).
Question is,
Why should flash custom rom to HD7 which is already on Mango ?
For Android, there is huge differences between stock and custom rom for the function, speed and UI but what will be the main benefit to flash custom rom for WP7 ?? Just prepare for flash unofficial upgraded version of Mango or WP8 ????
Another question is,
Even flashing custom rom, there is no problem to log in to Marketplace as no problem on stock rom ???
This log in problem is major issue on HD2 custom rom, that's why I decided get HD7 to experience all the function of WP7....
Appreciate your advise and guide in advance,....

first, welcome to the WP7 family.
now, to answer your questions...
allows you to install non-Marketplace applications
numerous tweaks implemented by Custom ROM's chef
latest WP7 versions
etc.
one can still install apps from official Marketplace
that answer your two questions?

Its working!!!!
I managed to install custom ROM !!!
THANX!!!
i didnt want to start a new thread, however, had couple of questons, im ready to install a custom rom for my sons' HTC HD7 and had a few concerns,
1. based from your experience, which is the most stable custom rom for the hd7 (Tmobile US)
2. i'm looking for one that carries the sound enhancer application.
I saw guides but it seems a lil confusing to install a custom rom for htc hd7. For instance the bootloader is currently 5.10.2250.0 and the OS version is 7.10.7720.68, anything special i need to do ? Thanks and sorry for noob questions,!!!

1. to my knowledge, all the Custom ROMs for the HTC Schubert are unbranded. being they aren't setup for any one MO. you would use Connection Setup to setup your device for TMo.
2. i have only used my Custom ROM, intrinsic, but i would assume each of the Custom ROMs have Sound Enhancer pre-installed.
3. see the tutorial. i just updated the post to downgrade OSPL 5.xx with Y-Cable.
Guess I need to order those items in order to flash since I don't have any of those handy

if yr bootloader is 4.5XX, u need to flash a older rom first like a nodo and before . But check if its supported under DFT RSPL/HSPL
eg. 1.54 is best to flash because thats a nodo rom and 1.54 is a bootloader that is supported under DFt RSPL/HSPL
< Bootloaders 1-3XX will allow u do do anything ( totally free , provided they are versions that are supported under DFT RSPL/HSPL )
4.XX bootloader which allow downgrade by flashing of older rom but do not allow DFT RSPL/HSPL on it ( partially locked)
5.xxx does nto allow downgrade or DFT RSPL/HSPL. ( basically u cannot do anything with it , its totally locked down)
custom roms dont contain any bootloader.
Hello, guys.
I have HTC HD7 T-Mobile. I need to repair it. The body doesn't provide any sounds/vibrations on power button. The last that someone did was flashing unknown rom and it failed on radio item.
The phone is unrecoverable?
Thanks.

No as of right now it's not possible. I'm sure there's someone working on it since the HD2 is its predecessor and they both use the same chipset and are very similar in hardware, so there maybe a possibility in the future.

Really!?! WP7 has come along way since it's release and we will continue to see development on our device...windows 7.8 is just around the corner and so is windows 8.
Have you unlocked your HD7 and flashed a custom rom so that you can tweak and modify it?
I'm not sure when it will be released.. It took alot of time and work to get the HD2 to be able to duel boot and run Android on it.
If you can't wait and really don't like WP7 OS that much, then I would suggest to get the HTC Desire HD, which is basically the same device as the HD7 but runs Android OS or get the HTC HD2.

For the developer unlock program without the student ID, you would have to purchase it at like $99.00 for a years use and since you don't have a credit card that's probably not an option then.
To install XAP files your device does need to be unlocked to allow side loading of apps.
Flashing of a custom rom means to wipe and replace the factory OEM rom with a new custom rom that has been developed/created for our device specifically. There are many available that fully unlock our devices and allow for customization through registry tweaks and hacks, installation of XAP's and so forth.
Here's a couple of great custom roms for our HD7. Look them over and decide for yourself which one is best suited for you. There's more custom roms available also in the HD7 development section. I would suggest one that is running the Tango 8779 build as these will have the most features like export of contacts to SIM card, sending ringtones through SMS and so on.
Intrinsic rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1281482
Deepshining rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1271118
Nextgen rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1348710
To accomplish the installation of a custom rom though...you will have to follow Shadows excellent tutorial, step by step by downgrading you spl, flashing a non test, nodo or pre-nodo rom, Install rspl or hspl and then flash a custom rom. You have to follow all the steps or you can damage your device and brick it! If you need any help with it just let me know. Here a link to Shadows tutorial:

It depends on what your bootloader and spl are.
Put your device into bootloader mode by powering off the device. Hold down the volume key and power the device back on while continuing to hold down the volume key. This will bring you into bootloader mode a tri-colored screen. Copy down the information from the BL screen and post it back and I'll tell the next best step to go in.

Ok. Well then you'll have to use the goldcard/ Y cable method. Unless you have a pre-mango back up in Zune. Meaning you updated your device to mango OS version and if so you still have the computer that you used to do it on.

Why in the first place you bought a WP7 device? I bought it because I don't like android very much, I don't despise it (that honor goes to the CrApple FailOS)
If you wanted Android, you should have bought any droid device, and you'll be happy.
Now, if you want android because of the "curiosity" or "experimentation"... Why you bought the HD7? the honor of running any Android version is for the Immortal HTC HD2.
Maybe you thought or somebody told you, that the HD7 has the same hardware as the HD2, which is true, the only problem and difference is the Windows Phone Bootloader.
The Bootloader, my friend is the one and only reason we can't have Android on any WP device... This answer has been repeated on these android threads a LOT.
If you want android so badly, sell the HD7 and get any Samsung, HTC, LG or whatever device fits your needs.
regards
nothing is impossible

No hard feelings brother
It's just out of my curiosity. I don't own this phone myself, though I do play around with phones, sometimes voluntarily and sometimes I'm paid to do so
One of my friends just exchanged his China-made Android phone with this one. Having known, and played with legendary HD2, I was wandering if people flashed it with droids already. And it seems like its not taken any step further towards the Androids
I should dig in further to see what others have achieved and what I can do, if I can get hold of the phone longer, though
I see xdrc45 and vivek555666 were heating this hard-ironed phone, what happened further.....
Lets all see, nothing is impossible, as they say
