Probably a bad flash. Try reflashing the rom after wiping data, cache, and dalvik cache in cwm

You can quickly restore your apps with you use a backup app, like titanium backup.
Backup ur ONLY your apps with titanium backup free then, wipe cache and flash the zip. Don't factory reset if u want ur apps to have the same data

First of all,hi all, newbies here.. Bought my O2X for about a month n flashed a few custom roms..question is,i read somewhere that 'restoring data' after flashing roms can cause battery drain issue,is that mean restoring thru recovery or titanium backup? I always use titanium backup n restore app only, afraid of the batt drain issue, but it gets annoying coz i need to set up everything again.(account login, settings).

Only restore "user apps", not system data when coming from another rom.
Sometimes restoring user apps WITH data can cause problems, like batterydrain. For example when going from froyo to gingerbread.

not really, when staying on froyo rom (MCR Kitchen for example), just flash over new rom, you will keep your data ...
when flashing new baseband -> also just restore backup in CWM
when changing to CM, i would recommend using titanium or mybackup pro to restore your apps (exclude system apps in backup, cause they are different !)
but when you´re staying on CM , just flash new rom, you will keep your data !

yes !!
i came from fr14 to fr18b2 without wiping anything !
i would only wipe once when you plan to move to cm, but when you stay on MCR based roms, just reflash rom and enjoy !

Fear, BlazingDragon, they are all based on MCR, so it shouldn´t be a problem ...
just try out, in worst case, when facing a bootloop or some other problems, you can wipe anyway afterwards ...
so it´s good to have a "titanium" or "mybackuppro" backup for worst case
Ok thanks dude!

Since I'm a new user and can't post my problem on the development thread i'll post it here.
I recently installed the F1 custom rom Wipe V6, installation went smoothly now I'm faced with the problem that I can't change the default wallpaper. I've tried changing it from the gallery, from the settings menu and also tried installing a different Home app (Launcherpro) To see if that would fix it.
I'm out of ideas and any help would be amazing.
Reflash.

I'll leave this as my last choice, unless you mean just reinstall the custom ROM?
reflash = reinstall rom
whenever i install the .apk file, the installer says "application not installed". i've tried files of xperia active launcher and still no good, help please?
what rom are you using?
Firstly ur rom should be 2.3
2-Dis also happened to me so what i did was re-install rom
3- check non-market apps and then install
WORKED FOR ME Best Of Luck

Hmm, not necessary has to be Gingerbread... some versions of the launcher works in 2.1 and 2.2 (with fc's adding folders)

Hai,
This happen to me in a while.. You should try fullwipe and reflash the rom again,
DO NOT FULLWIPE AFTER FLASHING -- it might happen just bcause of the wipping.. I found few bugs after wipping GDX regarding apk instalation but maybe its just me
Anyway GingerXperia and Gingercruzt has build in active launcher on them...
Best of luck

I rooted using the guide here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532192&nocache=1
I don't how what caused it (Which launcher do you have installed?) I had 2 launchers installed (I know that no launcher results in bootloop) but not of them were selected as default launcher
I got this error when i power off the phone
Before getting this error I saw a blue loading bar(like loading in froyo) with text :cleaning
I just formated the data & cache partition & now the phone is booting up
every user app + coolpad launcher is removed
but i cannot sign in which means i can't install a launcher
i cant post to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532192&nocache=1 since i have less than 10 posts

It seems like, you need to flashed a new ROM, as you already deleted data from your coolpad. There is nothing to backed up , I guess. Please followed this thread:

I successfully flashed it.

It is factory restore right? I believe language was the problem and by mistake, it erase something else.
So what's your status now? Is it boot able? If not then I would flashed a ROM.
