problem started power button got jammed. i opened the back panel and and cleaned the dust from power key.
after that battery showing 0% and not charging plz somebody help.....
phone runs smoothly when usb plugged in... also i was able to reflash it thinking it to be software problem and even tried nandroid backup but of no use...
wiped battery status in recovery nothin help:crying:

Okay heres what happened. Last night whilst flashing my xda IIi to the 1.162 with O2 stripped out and camera fix rom, the winbloze bsod came up when it was part way through the CE part of the flash(the third part). The phone said it was complete but woudlnt boot up so I rebooted the pc and went through the whole flashing process again, which worked ok. I restored my backup and all was working well. This morning on the way to work I was using it with the wireless connection in operation and all was well. I switched it off and put it in the inside pocket of my jacket, to get off the bus to go to work and when I got into work I went to put it in the cradle and realised that it was very warm. Further more it would not switch when the power button was pressed. I took the battery out and tried my fully charged spare battery and whilst the boot up screen did come on quite clear initially, then it faded to blank white and now the screen is black and there is no response.
I tried a hard reset but still no response and the charging light does not come on when I put it in the cradle. If I take the battery out and put it in the cradle I get a flashing red light where the charging light is but otherwise, no other response. Is it dead? Is there nothing else that I can do? Please help someone as I am very attached to that device.

BTW the flashing red light when there is no battery in..... it flashes in a certain sequence of flashes. Does anyone know if these are error codes, pretty much like a pc will give a certain amount of beeps if there is a boot up error? amd does anyone know how to interpret them.

I have two original batteries, both do not work .
are you try to go to bootloader and flash it again I think 1.11.171 is the best rom

Okay after leaving it on the cradle without a battery in for about an hour and a hard reset, it booted up to the windows mobile screen. After setting up the screen and such I was able to access the pda and restore a backup however
there is still a problem. It phased out a few times(screen faded to grey/white) and after setting up again it remained on but upon checking the power status I found that although the main battery was charging well the backup battery is on Zero and not charging. It has been so now for the last
3 1/2 hours sooooo that means that if the main battery loses power then I lose everything, also the bootloader has gone missing
I have this problem too with 2 of my xda II's its definatley not the battery as the battery works fine in my spare that i dare not update any fix for this yet?

Hi, I have been using my HTC diamond toch for nearly 2 1/2 months. a few days ago, i did a rom update using Dutty's rom update. All went fine duing the update. used the phone for about 5 days nonstop, no issues at all.
But yesterday all of a sudden the phone has swtiched off by itself, now it doesn't switch on. Thought the battery might be dead so i tried charging but the enter buttton area doesnt glow and there is no sign of charging.
I switched batteries with a friend to see whether it was faulty but it is in good condition.
What do u think the issue will be ?

I have the same problem. I've just got my phone back from being repaired as the touch screen got all messed up and now it won't charge. I plug it in and the touch pad does the charge animation twice then stops. It'll randomly try to turn on but it doesn't even get to the point where the red writing apears before it turns off again.

Here's what you can all try ....
First you guys need to know that de HTC does not charge if the rom is inconplete/damaged .
And.....
If your batery is realy dead there is no initial power on the internal battery to manage the chargement.
So ... resolution.
Fist way .
If you know any one that may have an other HTC Diamond you need to swamp batteries so the good Diamond that has the internal bat ok and charge it there.
Second way . this one i did it my self .
Go to a Local ChinaMan store and buy a multimeter and a regular Universal Adapter.
Heres how it hoes ...
Use the Multimeter do figure out the polarity pin's on the battery ex: + and - .
remove / cut one of the plug's from the Universal transformer and also tag the polarity.
set the voltage to be close to 5 V - 1 Amp .
Can be 4,5v or 5.5v no sweat
Conect the cuted wire from the Univ. Adapter to the Diamond Battery respecting the polarity.
Leave it for a wile..... ( Probably up to 1 hour but chec from time to time tme battery temperature and if possible a reading on the bat voltage levels.)
Done!
Put the battery bat and boot your diamond or turn on to boot loader.
**** Attention if you don't have more than 50% of the bat charge compleated you wont be able to flash your phone****

its just...my battery was full before the upgrading...i was Unlocking my Diamond..and the upgrade didnt move more than 0% just when i looked on my mobile...there was black screnn...pluged it out..tried to power on..nothing..tried to charge...nothing again..i tried hard reset(vol down+power+back+reset)..it just wont turn on..please help me..im in panic
Help, I have the same problem and my battery was fully charged before this happened. Voltage reading is 4.2V on the battery.
I also tested the power button and there is nothing wrong with it, it conducts when pushed.
Usually pluging in the charger should start it up, but it will not start.
Anyone have any solutions?
I couldn't fix mine so phones 4 u replaced it with a touch hd

I had the same exact problem two days ago.The phone was not charging while it was on,and when it was off it did that charging light animation twice and then third time the litght managed to get in the middle of the button and sudennly stopped. So here is my solution . I'v managed to charge the battery on another phone and turned my Diamond back on. While still attached to charger and power source i'v performed a soft reset (by pressing the reset button beneath the stilus) ...the phone reseted and now it's all ok.

I had same problem , no solution yet.
When I had a Mpx220 I had fixed changing a fuse, but I can´t see nothing in internet guides or foruns.
If someone knows how to repair tell us, becouse htc service in our country isn´t good and my device is outdate warranty.

Have you tried a battery pull and then turned it on again? It could be a BSOD.
had the same problem (sort of) yesterday without the powercable connected, it seemed like the battery was empty while it shouldn't be, i fixed it using power+ vol up but i guess a battery pull should work aswell

Well i have tried for 5-10 mins to fix it, plugging it on the charger, and pulling the battery, this morning, but i can't get anything. What can be that for?

had same problem this morning (left phone in charger for night).... i just disconnected phone from charger, removed battery for 10 sec, put it back - and phone is on...
only problem is that battery level was showing 999% (unknown), and after ~10-20 minutes it was 1% all the time (worked with 1% 2+ hours).. now it is charging again.. everything seems ok.

If it wont turn on, just remove battery, and connect it to PC while holding volume up key (or down.)... it should boot "upgrading firmware" mode... after just use smartflash and restore to stock.
hm... happend second time, when phone was on "wall" charger..
when charging from PC - no problems... when from "wall" charger - always BSOD after few hours...

I had the same as in OP during first night while it was hanging off the wall charger. It hasn't happened since, but I enabled "keep screen awake during chargin". I beleive I read somewhere here it should help with that.
Same problem here overnight charge and the phone wash dead.
After a battery pull it was ok.
It 's a bugg.
Mine survived overnight charging just fine...

Hey i got my optimus 2x just yesterday on Starhub Singapore, and similarly, i HAD the same problem until i followed some post above about removing the battery, plug in the computer/laptop with proprietary usb cables, WHILST HOLDING THE VOLUME UP AND POWER BUTTON TOGETHER. Hold for 10 seconds at least
Nothing happened. So i didnt get the flashing menu or mode on screen
Then i put unplugged the phone, put the battery back in, and tried again, suprisingly the LG Logo came up, but now it hung there.
Removing the battery...
EDIT: I removed the battery, now working good. Hopefully this dumb sH*t wont happen again. Beautiful phone. Hope this solved everything
If not, try doing a hardreset maybe? Hold power + Volume Down Key BUT ONLY IF YOUVE TRIED THE ABOVE METHOD A FEW TIMES. cause all your data will be gone POOF

I was on jelly bean MIUI and my battery got off but when plugged the charger to charge the mobile ,it gave only red light which turned on and off and after when I connected to the computer though data cable neither computer detected noor SUR LT detected it and mobile not restart even I tried all variant mobile didn't go to the downloading mode ..I pressed all variants home plus volume up and down together or up button,
So guys I need you help, what could this problem for and what I do to get rid of this problem … SUL is not detecting it ..what I do ??

Battery is dead charge your x6 with power socket.
Just try it.
Don't use computer for charging.
If nothing works out then its time to replace the battery

remove the battery
just remove the battery, connect it to the computer and check if the SUT LR can detect your unit.
if the status is phone connected, then you can flash a ROM (i would recommend RC3)
it worked on my unit.

pls help me.....! i faced charging problem in my spice mi 410 , my phone gets charging nicely when i removed its back cover ,but as i attach back cover into phone , phone battery goes drain and simultaneously shows red battery icon in display screen. my full charged battery drains completely in this way within 1 minute , but again when removed back cover battery shows charged & runs in its usual course.
pls suggest me is it hardware problem or what? is there any way to shotout this issue ?
maybe your phone's circuit somehow touches its back cover, as the cover made by metal, so this can drain ur battery
My phone is going crazy. When i charge my phone when its completely off ,it stucks with the battery sign with circle in the middle. The phone gets freezed with the sign even if i pull the data cable . But the phone takes charge when the phone is running. I changed the battery its same. Can anyone help me out to fix my problem ?
