What radio should i use? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a Nexus One, using this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762790
My current radio version is: 4.06.00.12_7.
Should I update? if so to what version.

Radio 5.08 will work fine

Why shouldn't I use the newest one? 5.12?

The Radio 5.12 still have not tried it, but version 5.08 has not given me any problems of network or field and it worked for all rom

can use 5.08 or 5.12 . no problem

I'm using 5.08 w/ no problems running ICS :good:

hi! paranoidandroid is awesome.. runs good on my nexus one..
There are only two things that it is lagging..namely camera (video not working) and no FM radio.
I searched in market but couldn't find any radio app for playing local FM channels without data connection.
I would really not like to have any other ROM, if I have these two things are working.:good:

Lost, radios?

Was wondering after flashing a new rom, do I have to flash radios?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
no you don't if your mobile data is working fine. Some rom devs suggest a radio that you should use but it is not needed if all is working
If you're flashing to a different release of Andriod, then yes. For example from 2.2 to 2.3.
I had a Froyo based Rom and flashed to a Gingerbread based, and my phone function didn't work until I flashed a new radio.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Also, for AOSP roms, I believe it's been said that you don't need to change the radios as it won't give better signals or anything. There's some posts around if you go digging to find the answer.
I believe it's only necessary to flash radios for Sense roms.

If everything is working fine then you don't need to. Devs suggest you flash a new radio because they have tested their ROM to work best with a particular radio again not really required if all is working ok for you.

CM Froyo 2.2.3 ROM?

Is there a cm based Froyo 2.2.3 ROM out there for our phones?
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
There will *most likely* not be a 2.2.3 cm6 rom because cyanogenmod & co is way past supporting froyo and had already moved onto ICS. Plus, 2.2.3 doesn't offer any significant changes from 2.2.2, only some security patches..
I would like a ICS but that will not be for a long time.
Is there a CM based 2.2.1 then? I'm using 2.2.1 NameLeszFroyo.

Sure - one of the best roms for the g1 - froyobylaszlo, if you want go with just cm6 but its not fast on a dream
Sent from my NXM726HN using XDA App
I have used lazlos Froyo I like this one better. Is a custom ROM faster than a rooted OTA? How do I find the latest rooted OTA for T-mobile mytouch 3g 32b?
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
For 32b the latest update supported is 1.6 - i think you mean what is the latest aosp - thats 2.3.7 for the dream there are a couple of builds the best one is probably ezgingerbread
And there arent rooted over the air updates
Sent from my NXM726HN using XDA App
The latest supported was Froyo released by t-mobile unsure if there is a rooted version
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
Thats right, i use a g1 so i only get ota updates to 1.6 i didnt pay attention to your mytouch note. So if you were to root, update your radio and spl, then you will be able to get faster roms, roms with more flare, and you will be able to over / underclock at will speeding up your phone or getting better battery life. So to answer your question yes if you root then you can have a faster / beter rom

[Q] Late SMS Problem...still

Hello everyone,
I have an HTC Incredible S from Bell, and a couple weeks ago i upgraded from Froyo to Gingerbread. A few days after that the late SMS problem started to happen. So i rooted my phone to try different roms, nope didn't work. So then I tried a ICS rom and that fixed the problem BUT the camera was messed up and some games(such as Zombieville) didn't work? So now I'm stuck...
You could try flashing a different radio to see if that helps your issue? And ICS camera are not working in any ICS rom.

Ok ill try flashing a different radio in a bit, but on one of the ICS roms it works... its the "Virtuous Quattro"
If it works then why not just stay on that rom? But a new radio should help always helped any issues I had.

Well the pictures glitch out at the top, and what type of radio do you recommend?
You need a GB rom if your now running GB. I had no issues with radio 28. There's a topic a few down with somebody requesting a link for it. Just go there and download it.
Or for the latest I believe which is 29. Go into the dev section. All radios are also posted in the dev section in a sticky topic.

i also having this problem. but after install custom rom and update radio, now working fine
Yea thanks man just tested the new radio and working perfect!!
Not a problem. Glad it worked for you

I have it currently running on a GB ROM.
Where is the latest? I'd like to try it with playground....

I'm on revolutionary hBoot 6.xxx, I flashed the ICS radio yesterday, and now I'm back on 29m radio (as in signature). No problems shuttling back & forth. Found new radio similar to 29m in performance.

Okay thanks, I can do it now knowing I can go back
Anyone know why other phones like evo 3d and desire S have to flash some firmware package? Is it just a radio?
Was searching for this thread.. Good one
I am on the new radio, flashed it fine. I don't know if it is any better for me, I believe that my battery life may of dropped a bit so may swap back to the older one. Give it a shot and see if it works for you.
I flashed it yesterday. I have no problems until now and battery life is good. I'm with "we want ICS" by nik

I got it from the LPRemixICS thread (It's the recommended radio)
I flashed it these days and everything seems alright on GB.

radio seems to be fine. i'm getting slightly better signal on niks ICS rom than with the old radio.
Radio not seems nice from me. I have reception issues with it. So I downgrade to 28m. 28m working on ICS too. Maybe problem is only effecting me.

[Q] Stock LG JB iodak v09 - no bluetooth

Hi,
I hope this finds it's way to the development thread.
I'm using the v09 version of iodak's kernal on the Stock open euro V20a ROM.
Unfortunately bluetooth does not work on this version. I've done a full data and cache wipe, but it still doesn't work. When I flash the v08 version, bluetooth works again.
The FM radio doesn't work on either version, but much less of a concern.
Does anyone else have the same problem with Bluetooth not working?
Post logs. I don't use stock firmwares.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
logcat for errors attached.
dmesg also please. I just checked on cm11 everything works.

ok, now with new logcat and dmesg. Thanks for looking.
Try rom mod ics ?

I used this as a good reason to upgrade to CM11. Bluetooth working again.
Cheers.
