Hello to everyone, i have a problem. My phone is XT860 (Milestone 3).
I've flashed the stock system for this phone (p2b_solana_umts_solana_claro_ar-user-2.3.6-5.5.1-112_SLU-56M-111106-release-keys-AmericaMovil-01.xml.zip), and I had some issues flashing one part (RSDLite failed to flash the boot.img).
But I could flash that part with moto-fastboot, and everything went fine.
After that, there was just a major issue, I couldn't make any call (nor receive), neither send or receive SMSs. When the phone boots up, a message appears: "Call failed MM #4". And when I try to make any call, it just "hangs up" (telling that Elapsed time was 00:00).
But I can use 3G and HSDPA without any problem.
The signal level is working fine, and in phone info, I've got good signal strength (-76 dbm).
I've tried the same SIM-Card in my old phone (Sony Ericsson W580, EPIC PHONE!) and it worked fine (Calls, SMS, Internet).
So I thought that sim was causing some problems in Milestone 3, and tried another SIM of the same carrier, and same issues appeared.
Other things that I've tried (no one fixed the problem):
* data wipe
* re-flash files via moto-fastboot (all of them)
* changed phone mode in "secret menu" (GSM, CDMA)
System version: 5.2.560.XT860.AmericaMovil.en.01
Baseband version: U_03.3B.00R
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-g9f70789 [email protected] #1
Compilation: 5.5.1-112_SLU-56M
What can I do? I think its the baseband, but thats a new subject for me.
Any help would be appreciated!

I have a strange problem with GSM connection on my LG.
- It happens once or twice a day
- I cannot make any call (after starting a call it gets dropped immiediatly)
- I cannot recieve any call (if someone calls me he gets automated message, that I am not avaliable
- The signal strength indicator indicates good connection (a few bars)
Solutions that work for me:
- Reboot
- Toggling Airplane mode
- After some time i get "Finished reading SIM card" popup on the screen, and the connectivity is back
I am on stock 2.3.4, baseband 1035.21_20110725, kernel 2.6.32.9, compilation number GRJ22, LGE version LGP990-V20L.
I cannot root the phone, I care for warranty.
My suspects:
- Faulty phone hardware?
- Faulty S/W
- Faulty sim card
Do you have any suggestions what can it be? How to test further? Thanks in advance!
Can be either 1 or 3 I guess.
The standard procedure is to test 1) your simcard in another phone and 2) someone else's simcard in your phone (preferably someone with the same provider.) If the problems carry over, then it's 3) and if not 1) is likely and you should have it serviced.
I have exactly the same problem.
But mine problem occur once every 2 or 3 weeks.
reboot and flashing rom does not solve this problem.
after one day the phone 'magically' work again.
i'm on custom kernel and custom rom.
Same here , now I changed ril to version 20q ,I'm on stock rom too but rooted. Working good till now
Hi I have a droid 4. I bought it in the USA and used it only in Italy. It was rooted and unlocked and it has always been working fine over GSM and 3G. Then I decided to install CM 10.2.1 and then i upgraded it to CM 11. In both cases sending sms was not working (calls and internet fine). Trying to fix it I went also in the *#*#4636#*#* testing menu and changed setting of radio. But now I cannot restore it and I always get no signal. Both with CM but also booting from Stock ROM.
I flashed many times but still nothing. As first I'd like to have singal back to call and use the net (3G). then I'll fix sms.
Can I do a sort of radio otpion reset? or firmware reset?
Plese help! Thank you!
IF there is some better section (or forum) just tell, I guess it can be a common issue and not specific for D4.

fastboot radio radio.img
I did it too
radio.img is found on the fastboot archive, no data will be lost. enter in fastboot by pressing vol up + down and power
Regards
To make your SMS work, you need to change a setting in build.prop relating to it, none of the radio settings will make it work since that isn't the problem.
ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=1 must be changed to ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=0
or install mentor's gsm patch
Hello all,
Every ROM I have tried to flash has come with some type of problem or another.
I have a SIM locked T-Mobile HTC One with a PTel SIM inside. I unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phone, and installed TWRP. Then, I downloaded several ROMs and tried to flash them (after doing wipe data and cache). Here are the specific problems I have run into with each ROM.
OneDroid: The screen keeps popping up "Unfortunately, Android Keyboard has stopped". After second boot, in addition to the other error message, the screen keeps popping up systemUI has stopped. The whole thing is just unusable.
Android Revolution HD: I am unable to obtain any phone signal.
ViperOne: Same issue, no signal.
InsertCoin: I can't get a proper HSPA+ connection due to incorrect APN settings. I have followed the directions on PTel's own website, but was unable to obtain data. It's a shame because I like this ROM the most of all.
MaximusHD: The only ROM to have worked properly.
I am sure I have done something wrong somewhere. I guess I'll just live with MaximusHD.
MaximusHD is completely stock with very minor changes. For other ROMs you have to select (or flash additional stuff) that you have T-Mobile device I think. But it is better to have their threads searched for "T-mobile".
Hello!
I have a D405N.
After flashing the latest build (02/02) of CM11 by Quarx I've lost 3G/data.
I'm only able to receive/make phone calls and receive SMS (can't send them).
I've tried flashing the ROM again - No success.
I've tried cleaning everything, reflash ROM and GAPPS - No success.
I've tried reverting to old build - No success.
I've tried configuring SMSC manually (to send SMS) - No success.
My phone just keeps stuck in 2G.
In Android service menu (*#*#4636#*#*) it reads: GPRS: Off.
Tried to manually enable data connection - No success.
I've even tried to manually set APN for network access - No success.
I also noticed that when I'm going through the initial setup my phone doesn't get the date/hour correctly....
You guys have any other suggestiong besides flashing the KDZ file?
Thanks!

That's weird, but it sound like you are flashing a stock rom from the wrong region, where are you getting your kdz? your region match that kdz?
Hello!
For the past few months my htc will randomly reboot, and will not get any service once back up (no imei, no meid, no known provider, no service strenth).
I checked the error logs and it looks like it's saying "subsystem_restart_wq_func[dc939a00]:failed to powerup external_modem!'" right before the restart. it is also saying "set_restart_reason: 776655aa." before that.
after the reboot, it also says it fails to powerup the external modem, and that it was a ramdump.
i've tried doing a factory reset, and that seemed to work for about 20 minutes. I did another factory restore after that, and it worked for about 20 minutes again and then rebooted, and now i get no service. when i have no service it doesn't memdumb/random reboot, it'll stay on forever. but if i restart it a few times and happen to get service, it'll let me call/text until it memdumps again.
i've tried googling, but haven't found much help. Thanks for any ideas!
everything is stock. i've never rooted or changed my rom/kernal.
