[Q] Disable popup when docked - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
Just got the dock for my Gnote. I've managed to find the settings page to disable/enable external speakers. However this seems to be the only option under "dock"
As it stands each time I dock the phone I get the "complete action using" pop-up. Is there a way to disable this? As I don't want a default action when I dock my phone. I'd rather it just stay on the homescreen and charge. I can't seem to find this setting anywhere.
Cheers.

APP Idea

Wondering if some of the bright developers around here would be interested in creating a configurable wiget to make things like turning WiFi on or off a one click operation - vs scrolling to settings, clicking to open it, clicking Wireless Networking, clicking WiFi to turn it on or off. Same thing for turning on/off 3G/4G, etc.
Even having a one click shortcut that would take you automatically to the Wireless Networking configuration screen would be a big improvement. Kind of like the ability to send a shortcut from the Wireless Networking Utility in Control Panel to the desktop in Windows.
Or is there already something out there to do this?
Try widgetsoid.. thats what I use on my Streak..it pretty nifty, you can add a lot of shortcut settings on the widgets.
Android also has a shortcut for indivual settings. Just add shortcuts>select shortcuts>settings>pick settings you want to appear on your screen..
One thank you point for ramtix...
Zeam Launcher does a lot of what I wanted, but I'm still willing to try wigetsoid...

[Q] Any Way to go to Dock Mode instead of Black Screen after standby??

HI!
I am using my Touchpad with CM9 in my bedroom. It is always in the Touchstone Dock
I like to have the TP permanent go to Dock Mode instead to turn Screen off.
Is this possible?

Click to collapse
Try installing Tasker and set up a context of on charge to open the clock app. It should be fairly straightforward.
HI!
Tried a lot but nothing really works with tasker.
Could you please explain it a little more detailed?
Maybe I did something wrong...
Moved to Q&A, please read here for what should be posted in development section.
HI!
Is Tasker able to start an App like Dock Clock after 1 Min. of not using the TP?
Dam it!
I bet there is a Parameter to execute an App when Display went off. Found a Parameter %DTOUT but how does it work for me??
Goes the wrong way I think..... but how to revert it? If Display went of start the app dock clock?
Dam it (2)!
Okay, there is a Profile "Display off"
in that case I start the Task "Starting App Dock Clock"
But it wont work if Display went off........ why?
Not working with ICS??
I run mad!
Edit3:
Near to shoot myself
In the Clock / Taskmanager it shows "no active Profiles"
But I hocked them......

[Q] Can't Change Default Car Dock App

The default "Car" app is garbage. I'd love to be able to use either Car Home Ultra or InDrive, but I can't seem to get either of these to load automatically when my One is placed in HTC's car dock.
I'm on Android Revolution HD 22.0
So here's where I am right now: I installed MohammadAG's Fix. With "Auto launch" enabled within the stock "Car" app, the "Car" app will launch automatically when placed into a dock. This also enables the "Car Mode" setting afforded by MohammadAG's fix. Currently, if at this point I press the "Home" key, it will load up InDrive. This is the closest I've gotten.
Again, I don't want the stock "Car" app to load first, or at all even. If I uncheck the "Auto launch" option within the stock "Car" app... placing the phone in the car dock doesn't enable "Car Mode" and I'd have to manually launch one of the car apps. Why?? Why does disabling the stupid stock "Car" app from launching disable Car Mode and subsequently anything from launching? What am I missing?
Car Home Ultra provides an option in the beta features section to force Car Mode when docked. This also does not work when the "Auto launch" option within the stock "Car" app is disabled i.e. Car Mode never ever ever initializes when the stock "Car" app's "Auto launch" option is disabled.
Interestingly, my AutoGuard performs without a hiccup. Regardless of whether or not the device gets put in car mode, it will start recording whenever it is placed into the dock. Further, this isn't some dumb mistake on my part- it does *not* launch when it is simply placed on a charger.
Any ideas before I go bald pulling my hair out?

Have you tried using Tasker? You could enable any app you like to launch when put into docked mode. Just a suggestion. (Came across this while looking for a fix for inconsistent Car Mode app launching).

Turn Equalizer On When Headset Plugged In

I downloaded Tasker with the intent of doing one single action - turning my equalizer on whenever I plug in my earphones, as the topic title might suggest.
Is this possible? The app I use has an option to put a shortcut on my home screen that turns it on without actually opening the app. Is there a way that I can set Tasker to perform this same fucntion?
(Additionally: is there a way to set it to ignore the function if the equalizer is already on? And is it possible to set it to turn the equalizer off in the same way (there's a home screen shortcut provided for that too) when I unplug my earphones?)
You can do that, but you need to have "autoShortcut"
Sorry, I can't link to it, but search for it on google play
Or actually, you don't need it, you can do it by running scripts that emulate screen touches, but option one is the easiest by far
(EDIT: You need root to emulate screen touches)
You can launch shortcuts within Tasker by selecting "All" in the launch application task (to show all applications installed) then simply long-press on the app you installed and it will bring up relevant activities that you can directly launch.

Android Auto 2.0 - Go to main/home launcher - Solutions Found!

So, I finally updated to Nugat last night, and now Android Auto 2.0 has a few annoying 'features' I needed to fix. I figured them out, so I'll share here.
I could no longer get to my main home screen. This used to be really handy, as I could plug in my phone, get everything setup, tap recent apps and then home to get to my regular home screen. I need to be able to do this to arm my home alarm and to launch Waze.
SOLUTION 1 - 1 Tap Quick Bar
There are a lot of apps like this, and I tried this one first, did exactly what I wanted it to, but it left too much going on in my notification pane. Basically this creates an additional notification bar that you can add settings or applications to. I added Action Launcher 3, Waze, my home alarm app, and two others to it, worked fine.
If there were a way to have a notification bar like this be active only when Car Mode was enabled, it would be my preferred method.
SOLUTION 2 - Custom Quick Settings - (PREFERRED)
This works perfectly, takes up almost no space (one quick settings tile), and looks like it is built in.
I installed this, added a quick settings tile to go directly to my Action Launcher 3 home screen (my wife set it up to go to Nova Launcher), and now I just pull down on the right side of my Nexus 6P screen, tap on the Quick Setting Tile that says Home, and bam, back at the home screen. Tap on the Home button in the Android Auto overlay and I'm back in Android Auto (I just leave it in Waze).
Hope this helps others.
